Yea! Just got an email "Your new vehicle order is being processed!". The leather option had been constrained. COOL!

Hard to tell....but do the seats match the interior? They almost look grey with tan stitching.
I asked this a couple pages back. Seems like the seats are lighter in color and the dash stayed the same black. Is this true or is the dash a lighter gray as well?

Thanks!

But as far as when I am in the inside of the jeep i definately like the look of the saddle interior. Any thoughts, or pictures? Also, I am going to get a manual transmission, is it possible to order 4.10 gears in a Sahara? I am thinking I will be getting bigger tires in the future.

Thanks in advance!
I personally think the brighter colors (Crush, Dozer, Gecko etc) look best with a pure black interior contrast in color. On the flip side, the darker exterior colors looks best with saddle on the inside to break up all the darkness of the exterior. Its your jeep and get what will make you happiest in the long run, but I think Dozer with black interior is the way to go.

FINALLY. My Gecko Sahara JKU (Black cloth) is now showing on VOTS in the "Delivery" step. I could be picking it up this evening. Woo hoo!

They did not. I spoke with Ken and he said give it a month or so after the 2013 start arriving at dealerships. So I'm thinking mid to end September

Actually read the membership package Tread Lightly sent you. After that, determine if you still think the $60 was a waste. I sure don't, they provide a very valuable service to our off road areas.....and I'm neither a tree hugger or off roader (yet!).

Seats are ugly and color is WAY off. Hope you all go for the leather and wait. I would not accept this.

Thanks for the pic.... I ordered Deep Cherry with the black hardtop and black leather seats.

When I get it I will post pics. It is scheduled for Aug 16th now....have towait and see.

Lol I think it looks good. It's funny how tastes can differ so widely- from "I like it, and sort of wish I had ordered it," to "I would not accept this."

It is funny isn't it. Sort of the situation with the wheels. People state they're glad they got a 2012 instead of a 2013 just b/c the wheels. I'm sure most change them out anyways. Seems a little hasty to make a decision from a few fuzzy pictures.

Thanks, yes I heard about it. Will be checking some 4x4 shops and asking questions soon.

Thanks!

I should have been more specific. I think tread lightly is a great organization that I will continue to support.

It didn't do anything for me in regards to the purchase price of my Jeep. The dealership was 3.3% below invoice without even negotiating.

One can not argue about other's taste, that is for sure. That being said, either way each should IMO see it up close in person before judging, pictures will not cut it, you have to look at it for a long time (sit on it too) or throw more money at it to change it.
(note: I will be ordering black leather in my JKU Sahara .... black or billet ... waiting to see what billet looks like)

How the HECK did you get 3.3% below invoice?! I have the TL 1%, but during the whole process the dealership kept saying, "there's just so much demand for these Jeeps that there's not much to come down on". Thanks to this forum, I got the TL discount!

I guess I'm not very good at negotiating! LOL

Sounds very nice. I am also a fan of the dark interior since I don't like the brown lower dash and other plastic pieces. My only hesitation for ordering are those new Rubi rims. They are not grabbing me....at all. I have been checking local dealerships for 2012s...but I can't find one equipped the way that I want...so my money is staying in my pocket for now.

The 2013 will have leather. They just had issues with the previous allotment of leather seats. So, people who ordered it the first second ordering was available had to change to cloth or wait a little longer to get their Jeep.

Rims/Wheels are almost a non-issue, since a lot of people change them anyway. And, you could probably pretty easily find someone to trade you 2012 wheels for 2013 wheels.

Is it safe to assume that someone will send up flares and bells & whistles will go off here when leather is available for ordering? If not, I shall plan to call my local dealership on a regular basis (starting in a few days) to see if I can place my order.

I'm going in to my local dealer today to see how they respond to my TL discount for ordering a Commando green Rubi Unlimited on Sat or maybe the 7th. I'm also curious about the 3.3%. Was it a 2012 on the lot or 2013 order? How did you approach the price point? Rebates? Did you they have a trade in (which they adjusted for)?

I think Pat stated he will post as soon as it becomes available to order. It opens the 6th officially but sometimes opens the Saturday before, so check here for Pat or your dealer to see if they order then.

Agreed 100%. It is a MUST to see these items in person.

The frustrating part is the whole staggered/allocation process. If you want to see Billet or Commando Green in person...BEFORE you order....you probably won't actually get your Billet or Commando Green Jeep until November at best because those colors won't hit dealer lots until October. So sometimes you have to take a leap of faith.

I'll have to go see the interior in person....but if I don't like it, I'll be kinda ticked because it means I could have ordered Dozer with black interior back in June.

Do you guys know if the cupholder pops out of the middle console? If so, it shouldnt be hard to add the cupholder lights and the rear cupholder light to the 2012 by installing it and tapping into a instrument light sorce that feeds the hazard, heated seats, and 120v switch buttons.

True indeed....but look at my join date.

I've been at this for about a year now.

I will say this much.....I've learned A LOT over this past year.....and by being patient, I've avoided a couple of MAJOR mistakes.

*I almost purchased a 4 door Sahara with 3.21's...because that is what I thought I wanted at the time...whoops.

*I almost purchase a Black Forest Green Sahara with black leather.....can you say...frying like bacon in the sun this summer?...double whoops.

Oh well...live and learn....

In the 2012's, there was a pretty big difference between saddle in cloth, and saddle in leather. In leather, the entire seats were a different color, where in cloth (as seen below), only the center of the seat was a different color.

Black Cloth

Saddle Cloth

I wonder if the photo just makes the cloth material look lighter than it really is?
