Nice!

I'll be keeping my eye out for a Black Rubi on new wheels. (I'm in Aurora, Naperville, Plainfield, Oswego area). If I manage to get my order in next week....I may be in the market for some Rubi wheels....

For starters, thanks for the time and effort to build the spreadsheet, great tool! Question on the same lines, do the side air bags come std. with Leather?

Heated seats are included with leather.

Side air bags are a stand-alone option.

VOTS listed my JKU as Frame on Monday, July 28 in the morning. No change until Tuesday when it was and still is in Final Inspection. I AM JEEP told me it ships today via truck to the rail yard. Will be put on a rail car on Aug 8 and arrives in Phoenix on the 12th.

So, so happy with what we bought
Went up to Jaffery, NH for an ice cream and parked
out at one of our favorite spots by a Lake.
Let my Wife drive it home .... We will see how
long her Avalanche stays in the driveway
I know you all can never have enough pictures ....
Soft top goes on tomorrow

Love the white! I have the white with white hard tops. Just came back from dinner with friends who have a Mercedes convertible. While at dinner ran into another Sahara unlimited owner and went off on talking jeep! Everyone else were trying to keep up! The Mercedes folks seemed very jealous the talk was not about their new toy!

(hey, I'm not the first one to get us off track on this topic )

I bought an extended warranty for my TJ in 2001...and never needed to use it. The warranty was good for up to 80,000 miles...which I passed long ago....and that TJ is still rocking. Would I like that money back? Sure, but hindsight is 20/20.

Of course, what if something major went wrong? In fact, that is why I bought it, because my YJ was a COMPLETE lemon. EVERYTHING went wrong, including recurring drive train issues that were eventually traced to a manufacturing defect AFTER the warranty expired. At the time, I didn't have a lot of spare cash...and having so many issues out of warranty was a huge burden.

That is really what it comes down to. It's like insurance. Would you rather pay a set known-cost fee now to avoid having the potential of a much larger expense later...knowing that you also might have no issues and may not come out ahead? You are paying for peace of mind...and to avoid the unlikely instance where you have to pay for a repair (or repairs) that will cost even more later.

In my opinion, if you are stretching financially to buy a vehicle...well, don't...ever. In fact, car loans are usually a bad idea...but that's a topic for another thread...so I'll start again...

If you are stretching financially to buy a vehicle, get the warranty...and put it on your loan. Then, you are set down the road if you have a major issue. If you aren't stretched that far and think that you will have no issues paying for some unknown major issue, then great, don't buy the extended warranty. On balance, you are more likely to come out ahead financially by not buying the warranty...which is how they make money. Folks might have anecdotal evidence stating how their warranty ended up saving them money...and good for them, but on average, it will not. They don't stay in business paying out more than they take in.

That said, such warranties do have value to some folks.

In one respect, it's like any other type of insurance. You pay more for house insurance than you will ever likely get back from them...but you have it because you can't afford the downside of not having it in the unlikely event that you have a major issue...or the extremely unlikely event that you lose the entire house in a fire or disaster. You have it because you can't afford to play the averages when you only have one of something and the replacement cost is so high.

An extended warranty on a vehicle is a lesser version of that situation. Your worst case potential expense for a repair without having one is manageable for some folks...so they can afford to play the averages and not get such a warranty...but if you think that you won't be able to afford the repair...or that such a repair could be a huge financial burden down the road, get the warranty.

would have commented sooner; but i was working a house fire!!!
bought my 1998 Wrangler Sport in 2000 and has been a daily driver ever since w/ 120,000+ miles... even though i've never had a problem with it; i'll prolly get the warranty on the 2013 just in case...too much money not to!

now i just have to wait till they release some info on the 10th Anny Rubi and Anvil color

Spreadsheet Error Corrected

There is an error in the 4.0 version of the spreadsheet that doubles the price of the Remote Start System in the Unlimited Rubicon work sheet. It was due to an error I made in the Sum formula. I have corrected the error by replacing my long and complicated Sum formulas with SumIf formulas as suggested by glob1922 (if I remember his username correctly). I also double checked and implemented the SumIf formulas on every work sheet of the spreadsheet.

This error should have only impacted those ordering Unlimited Rubicons with the Remote Start System. I sincerely apologize if this mistake caused anyone any grief.

I have sent Milous a request to post the latest and greatest version of the spreadsheet (Version 5.0) to post #1. I suspect that it will be up sometime this weekend. Other than this correction, I didn't make any other revisions to the spreadsheet.

Thanks,
Ron

Ron,

You are AWESOME!!! Thanks so much for putting together such a fantastic tool. I have used it to negotiate my order via e-mail and have a dealer at 2.2% below invoice + tax, with no fees. I could not have done it without this spreadsheet.

Now I just need Commando and Leather to open up. Let's hope the leather opens with Commando on Tuesday!!!

Define "working". Did it involve a hose...or a gas can?

No doubt, I am a huge TJ fan. In fact, part of me is very reluctant to trade mine for a JK in light of what I have heard about ticking engines, sluggish trannys, leaking roofs, bad headlights, hammock seats, ...

But I have the itch.

So another question, if you get side airbags and cloth seats then swap out the cloth with aftermarket leather or add seat covers later, will your side airbag still work right?

I've been following this whole thread avidly. Getting ready to maybe order when Billet is avail with Saddle leather.

Question is, what is everyone paying for any additional fees? Dealership stuff, doc fees, prep fees, misc "sales manager needs a Lexus" fees, etc. I know there are great dealers out there (on this forums especially), but unfortunately Vegas isnt known for it's honest, hardworking new care dealers.

Say I stick with 1% under for Affiliate, what is an honest agreeable amount of "oh, by the way" fees?

Thanks all!

I wondereded that too. I know when you order Okole seat covers they ask if you have seat deployed airbags so I assume they account for them.

Pictures of the New Sahara Rims

Sorry if someone had already posted these, haven't been paying attention to this thread for a few weeks.

Here are the pictures of the 2013 Sahara Rims with the sweet Willy's logo on them

We charge a 105 doc fee and whatever taxes and new plate registration are applicable. The only variation on that is if someone is transferring their plates which only costs like $30 instead of the $120 for new plates.

Not sure about the leather but there are multiple options for seat covers with the side air bags, only thing is that the seats changed from 2012 so not sure if the aftmkt seat covers out there still fit properly and with the side air bags it should be an exact fit. Going to wait and see if Wet Okole updates their covers for the new seats.

Another person in the commando thread said they received an email from a dealer that said they could see Commando in the system now. I would call or stop by your dealer.

I can certainly understand all the excitement over commando....any mock-ups of Billet, or even a paint chip of anvil yet? I would love to get a glimpse before ordering opens. It would be great if anvil looked something like the pic below....

I have ordered Commando, but an Anvil/Charcoal like that would be pretty great! Though something flatter would be more to my liking.

Come on man, "glob1922" makes me sound fat!
Thanks again for the spreadsheet, it has been instrumental for many people, including myself. Really simplifies the process of pricing it out.

Dual Note Horn (JJB) replaces Low Note Horn (JJF)

The new 2013 feature I'm the most interested in is the horn. Anybody created a video with audio of the older JK horn and the new 2013 Dual Note Horn? If it's better and doable, I plan to order a new horn to put in my 2012 JKU.

LOL, man I am so sorry. I obviously shouldn't be allowed to post late at night. :-)
Your SumIf recommendation is much easier and much more efficient than my original formulas. Thanks again.

Sahara invoice price

Thanks to the spread sheet I think I know what I'm doing. The invoice price on the Sahara (30,393.00 includes shipping right? One dealer wanted to slip that in and I walked. I forgot to say I do have TL.
