I am going to be ordering a 2013 Sahara with a manual transmission. Does anyone happen to know if I can order 4.10 gears....not really seeing the option, so just wanted to check. If not 4.10, hopefully i can get 3.73 without ordering the tow package.

Thanks in advance!

4:10 is only an option for the rubicon

Mine is currently in transit and the wait is killing me!
I already did that last week....(slightly different address and new email account)

I don't think the brown dash and saddle cloth will go great with many colors, but I think it will work well with green.
I agree 100%. I had a 2000 TJ green with tan interior that looked cool. I love a black interior on most vehicles but on a green wrangler the saddle is pretty good looking. Commando just opened up--have fun at the dealership dude

So, some time back got the "Scheduled to Build" email. Had dealer check DealerConnect and had an estimated ship date of 8/13. Have called IAMJEEP seveal times but nothing new. This morning got the "Your new jeep is begining to build" email. Checked VOTS and it showed "In Paint". Called IAMJEEP and lady said Estimated ship date is 8/7. (That's tomorrow dude) . Salesman says next status change is JS where it is shipped to storage??? Moving closer it would seem.

Seats are softer. I like them so far. Real test will be 3 years from now.

So I get that discounts can be combine (e.g. Affiliate + Military, etc), but what about the case of the college grad discount where my wife and I both qualify? If we co-buy the new toy, does the discount apply double? I just want to know if anyone has a clear answer on this, because the fine print doesn't mention it. I trust my dealer, but I want a bit of information before I bring it to him.

Not to be a jerk, either, but at times, when one's money is at stake, one necessarily has to at least be perceived as confrontational. If complete answers were provided by those who have direct access to them, (ie. dealers, wives of salesmen, salesmen, etc.) there would be less tension. Lack of such data would seem to imply deception, wouldn't it? Not that it is, it just could be perceived that way.

The truth is, in economic times like these, people should necessarily find it very difficult to give charity to everyone who asks.

Not to be a jerk, after all, eh?

So I let the dealer I plan to order from tomorrow morning know I had heard that Commando and Leather were in the system this evening. This was his reply, "Wow! The next time I need to know about availability issues on Wranglers I'm gonna call you! They are in the system and do not show any restraint! What time will you be here tomorrow?"

Thanks Pat!!!

Also, I occasionally see high end gray/silver cars with tan interior. Any opinions? Has anyone else ordered that combo? Hopefully I will be placing that order on a sahara unlimited this week - assuming the system opens for billet and leather this week.
This is the combo I will be going for. Billet, Saddle Leather, Color matched top.

VOTS = http://www.jeep.com/vots/ - this is the web site where you can put in your last name and VON (vehicle order number?) that comes off the sheet that the dealer should give you when you place the order. This site appears to get updated once a day - and you won't be able to access it until you get your first email from ordertracking@jeep.com with the subject line "Your new vehicle order is being processed!" - I got mine 5 days after placing the order, btw. This and all subsequent emails from ordertracking@jeep.com will also include the link to VOTS in case you didn't have it already. This is the reason for giving your dealer your email when you place the order - so they can punch it into VOTS.

VIN - at a certain point (email subject "Your new vehicle is scheduled for production. Track it on the VOTS!" - for me this was 11 days after placing order) you will get the last 8 digits of the VIN from ordertracking@jeep.com - at this point your dealer can look up on their internal system the complete VIN for you.

Good luck!

Power seats Question

Sorry if I missed it, but the volume of posts is a little overwhelming. I don't recall seeing any mention of power seats on the 2013 Rubicon, either as a standard or in the options that have been listed. Anyone know which it is? Looks like the power convenience group has been made standard, but no mention of power seats. Haven't seen anything on window stickers I have seen on dealer websites either. Thanks in advance.

No sightings of anvil yet. Billet has been popping up lately a few pages back, but I don't believe anyone has seen anvil yet.

VOTS is the vehicle order tracking system that Chrysler uses to create the illusion that we are actually tracking our builds. You can get your VON (vehicle order number) from your dealer at the time you ordered your Jeep. If you furnished your dealer with an email address, you should get an email from Jeep about a week after you placed you order with a confirmation that they have received your order. A week or so after that they will send you another with the last 8 of your VIN. There are other factors involved suck as colors r or options being closed that can affect everything. You can get to VOTS here https://www.jeep.com/vots/. Or, you can call 1-877-IAM-JEEP.

EDIT: NEED TO TYPE FASTER!

You are welcome - just repaying the favor - this board in general and all the people that have contributed to this thread specifically were extremely educational to me in this order process.

I don't think there is any such thing as "too prepared". It seems to me that the only dealer that will have a problem with you coming into the discussion well informed is a dealer expecting to take advantage of buyer's ignorance; and that's the kind of dealer to avoid.

Just checked VOTS, and the leather message no longer appears. Between that and the phone rep saying my jeep ships today, I think things are looking up!!

LOL I guess I don't come across well. I don't know why we were arguing about that- I should have just let it slide, but for some reason I just couldn't... I guess it's sort of like If someone came onto this thread and said something like "an automatic transmission doesn't have a torque converter- it has a clutch." I imagine some of the more mechanically-inclined amongst us would want to correct them, if only for the sake of making sure that others didn't make the same mistake. So I guess when someone made a legal claim that was clearly incorrect I felt like I had to say something, even though it didn't matter at all.

Very good point. I get the feeling after putting 20,000 miles on my seats that they'll hold up pretty well over time as far as the material goes.
