Pat, thanks for all the info regarding dealer pricing and dealer shopping

Do you have any insight on military sales? I purchased my Jeep while in Okinawa and will be picking it up at a dealership just outside St Louis.

I didn't really look into the dealership, I figured it was just a holding spot. If I had warranty issues, can't I take it into whatever dealership I so please?

I hope Pat is probably (hopefully) at home, relaxing after selling Jeeps all day, AND helping us out on the side! As you can see, Pat's the man around here.

But, anybody can tell you that ALL Jeep dealerships will honor your warranty. Take our pick. Some dealerships will favor those who bought from them in scheduling, etc., but all will help you.

And... Thank you for your service, friend! :thumb:

All,

As I indicated earlier, I'm trying to make a 2013 Wrangler pricing spreadsheet. I'm learning a lot about the Wrangler pricing scheme as I create this. I have a question. Are the invoice and MSRP prices for the optional items the same for the 2 door and the 4 door? For example, Pat posted the following and labeled it "Rubicon". Are these the prices for the options for both the 2 door and the 4 door Rubi?

DMF 4.10 Rear Axle Ratio 85 95
Climate Control Options
HAB Air Conditioning w/Auto Temp Control 138 155
Climate Control Groups
AAJ Connectivity Group 432 485
Convenience/Security Options
CJ1 Supplemental Frt Seat Side Air Bags 441 495
JPM Heated Front Seats 223 250

RHR Uconnect 730N CD/DVD/MP3/HDD/NAV 1,642 1,845
Additional Equipment Groups
AWS Smoker's Group 27 30

All,

I've placed a link to the beta version of my 2013 Wrangler Pricing Spreadsheet below. This spreadsheet will allow you to easily customize all versions of the 2013 Wrangler and Unlimited and see the invoice and MSRP prices for each with options.

You will need Microsoft Excel to open and use it. Right now, only the first four sheets are working. They are the sheets for 2 door Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon. The fourth sheet summarizes your results from the other sheets to allow for easy comparison.

Let me know if I have made any mistakes. Once I have the answers to the questions I posted earlier in this thread, I will make it work for the 2 door Sport S and for all of the Unlimited models. Hopefully, you will find this to be a very useful tool.

Follow the link below. After you click the link, click "file" and then click "download".

8-Speed Auto for the '13s?

@Milous and @Pat...

Just saw the thread discussing 8-speed autos in 2013 and this article:Chrysler Introduces the 8 and 9-Speed Transmissions by 2013

It was a little difficult to tell in the article but it clearly says they are going into production and the wrangler is one of the vehicles getting the upgrade. Does that mean we will see 8-speed autos available for the 2013 Wrangler line??

...Does that mean we will see 8-speed autos available for the 2013 Wrangler line??
Definitely not. Domestic production of the 8-speed will not begin until near the end of the year. After that it will take awhile to ramp up production. All of the initial units will be going into vehicles that already have it (300/Charger) and then allocated for the 2013 Ram and 2014 Grand Cherokee (the 2014 GC launches early so it will be taking a lot of the 8-sp capacity). It may not make it into the Wrangler until the generation changeover, I'd have to check into that.

After searching for 4 months for the perfect 2012 I gave up and decided to wait for the 2013. I am hoping to get just what I want by means of ordering a 2013 and am not sure how this process works.

I know the Commando Green is to be a later in the year color and this is the color I like most. Can I order a 2013 in this color before it is available and simply wait the extra time?

I have an appt. with a dealer tomorrow and have not discussed this process so I was hoping to get a little information before I arrived. How is a trade in handled when you will not be actually buying for several months? I have a 4x4 Tacoma (2009) with under 55k and would probably have over 60k at the time of actual trade.

I was hoping to get a value on my trade tomorrow however just realized that when the ordered Jeep arrives the dealer could suddenly try to low ball my trade in. I have paid extra with each payment and when looking for my 2012 I was quoted between 3500 and 4000 more than I owed.

So basically does a dealer usually figure a trade in at time of order of time of the actual deal? Also can I order special late colors now or do I have to wait?

I had much trouble finding a Rubicon with leather, manual, and saddle interior however I am actually happy that I was not able to do so. That green looks so very nice and with a black hard top, tan leather interior, and black wheels.....this should be a beauty.

Hi I am from upstate New York. I could not find any new 2012 6 speed Rubicon's. The sales person kept trying to sell he other Jeep Wranglers?
Automatics when I stated if I paying $40,0000 plus I want to pick my color! Then she asked how much I am putting down and I told her depending on the deal maybe 28,000 cash. Well the manager came in and asked what can we do for you! I said if you had a Rubicon six speed we would be dealing. Well they went on line and said they didn't see any 2013 coming in. They didn't inform me that I could of ordered one. Chrysler is in production making the 2013? News flash I been burned more than once and that's it!

To update you I had a 350Z and a 1997 GEO Tracker for my winter rat 2 door 4 wheel drive. This is where I love 4 wheeling. I want to hit the trails.
I need some direction the Rubicon is for off road mainly? The dealer told me that? I go MTB and this would be fun!
I sold the z in 2008 at that time i was paying 260 bi-weekly and ins gas and my tracker. My tracker was more fun than the Z!

I been saving my #<>~<~}||~~ off to by a new ride. I was told by a person in the business that if I order a new Jeep and cut some of the add ons.
If I back out they count that is there stock and would sell quick do to a lower price. Also I have a relative that worked at Chrysler 30 years and when I get my order number he will call for the discount. Thanks for all your help! I am going crazy about the colors coming in late August ,September.

It will all work out.

I'm not so sure it's critical to buy a Wrangler where you're going to have it serviced. I've had my '08 for over four years and haven't had a single issue that required dealer service.

Maybe a little feedback here regarding past ownership and service experience would help new buyers. Maybe a separate thread for that would be better. Maybe there already is one, I haven't checked.

There are a bunch of good, experienced, fair, and yes honest dealers around like Pat who will give you an excellent price. Just keep in mind that they have families to feed, too! A note about doing your deal.......try not to beat the dealer up too much and expect cooperation after the sale.....they're like elephants and never forget.

A dealer recommendation here in Colorado would be Pollard Jeep in Boulder. Straight up guys and only sell Jeeps.

It's amazing to have guys like Milous and Pat here.

No more Pwr Conv. on base Sport?

Quick question for those of you "in the know": I just talked to my dealer about pricing out a 2013 JKU order, and he told me that (as of now) the power convenience group is not available for the base model Sport- only as part of the S package. He's a straight shooter so I don't doubt that this is the case, but do you guys think this is just a result of the early ordering process, or will power windows/locks no longer be an option for the base Sport?

According to my information, which is NOT the very latest, POWER CONVENIENCE GROUP (AJP) can not be ordered on 2013 Sport base without the Sport S package. The same was the case in 2012.

Thanks Pat, I have just been waiting on the colors to come out. I am ordering the Sport S with a few of the Sahara options but none of the fluff. Its my welcome home/ divorce present. Although if this guy doesn't answer my emails I may be looking for a dealer in the states that can have it delivered by the time I get home.

I think there is a lot of confusion going on because of the difference in standard options between the base 2 door and base 4 door.

Last year, the initial info in the 2012 thread didn't show the power package as an option on the base 4-door as well. But I'm wondering if that changed during the year or data that came out was simply incorrect.

It is clearly available on the 2012 Jeep website, and here is a 2012 base 4-door out in Dixon Illinois, with the power package as well.

2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Unlimited For Sale | Dixon IL .

I also could have sworn someone had posted their 2013 build sheet and it had a power package, but that might have been in a different forum...or I could have been dreaming.

Maybe it's just an early ordering issue then? I'd sure like to be able to order just the power & conv. package, because I don't care at all about the stock rims, tires, or leather/chrome add-ons. I understand that some people do, but the difference between the power & conv. package and the 24S package ain't worth $1,550 to me (using 2012 MSRP pricing, since I don't know the 2013 price of 24S yet...)

first post :wavey:

built mine at the dealer today, 2 door sport S, gecko green, dual top, 3.73, limited slip, 6 speed...

Once i drop of the deposit on Monday the order will be placed, very excited!

Question for those in the know... the dealership told me that with the S package for the sport the windows come tinted for 2013. I told him that on the 12s I thought it was a 300.00 option. His sales manager confirmed to me that my windows would be tinted. Pat can you confirm? I dont want school bus windows!

He is probably referring to "tint" but not "deep tint".

"Tint" is so light that it should net even be called tint. "Deep tint" (Code GCD for $300) is the dark stuff that you are probably thinking of.

Yeah, it would suck if that option was pulled for 2013.
I don't ever remember the base sport having a power convenience package. We had lots of the C package Unlimiteds and none had power.
The way I remember it is the unlimited sport with the S package had the power package standard, the 2 door sport with S package, the power options were just that an option. The 2 dr B package power was not an option and the unlimited C package power was not an option.
Maybe I'm wrong... too much info swirling around in my head and not at home so I can't go into dealerconnect to double check.
Chicago is having some really awesome weather and it's a perfect night to be cruising topless!!!!:):)

I'm wondering if it was a mid year change and the power package became available when Katzkins became available? You can get an unlimited C package with the power package....I posted a link to one on not too long ago...but that one did have Katzkins as well. If Katzkins are gone, maybe that option is gone again? I know there was some kind of change, because I remember the power package originally not including an alarm...but that might have been on a Sport S. And yeah.....it would be great to be topless right now. I'm sure it is nice and sunny and a bit cooler lakeside. Out here in the far West/Southwest burbs...it is just hot.....too hot to put on my jeans and boots and helmet and riding jacket.....so I can't even get on my motorcycle. Shorts, a t-shirt, and a pair of flip-flops hanging out of a door-less Jeep would be awesome....

After doing the spreadsheet, reading today's posts, and rereading most of the thread, my mind is a whirl of Wrangler models and options. Writing a computer program to keep track of it all would be a great assignment for one of my classes. (I am a college computing professor.) I'll work in the changes that have been proposed. I'll try to get an updated spreadsheet posted sometime Monday so keep the suggestions coming.

As an aside, I usually buy Hondas. Ordering a Jeep is much different than when I purchased my first Honda. The only available options were color, AC, spoiler, and floor mats. That was it.

Visited a local dealer today and tried to order a 2013 Rubicon. There were several colors that are not available to order now and the only new one I saw on the dealers computer available now was true blue.

They did agree to call me as soon as I could order a commando green model and went as far as printing out some examples of employee pricing. The sales manager agreed to give me employee pricing without any negotiation at all as long as I returned to order from his store.

He did say that he could do this without any problems and also mentioned the military discount as well. I did not get far into actual pricing as it would do me no good for now. He also said my positive equity (4k) on my trade in should be about the same ration in a few months and would not be an issue on my purchase.

We shall see however after looking at the order process it appears to be pretty straight forward.
