I wish someone could give me some sort of insight into what's going on. I found out that it was built on the 8/9, and that when it gets to Westfield, TX, it's supposed to sit there for 2 weeks. I'm not even sure how that is plausible, because up until now, all the estimates I got said it should only stay there for a day or two at most.

The dates are gonna keep changing....that is just how it is. Think of it this way, you might actually get your jeep before the estimated date.....

The systems are far from perfect with the tracking.

Do not like the Sahara logo on the seats - leather or cloth. Love the Rubicon though - understated. ugh the changes

I suggest a '13 player hater thread so everyone can get it out of their system.

If you want some real entertainment, check out some of the old threads from when the JK first came out and hear all the hating from the TJ folks.

I agree - saddened by the Sahara bright stitching (not optional) distracting from otherwise great looking leather. I think it cheapens the look a bit. Maybe I will do Katzkin instead. I actually like the 2012 saddle seat better (purely based on looks).

Did you get your VIN from your dealer or did it come as an automated e-mail from Jeep? I just hope I'm not in a situation where my dealer has low allocation or something like that would delay things...
I am stationed in Germay working withrough ENCS and they sent my the VIN information.

I think Chrysler has gotten wind of Keschete's rail hijacking plan and are holding all new Jeeps until security is put on the trains.

I'll volunteer. I'm just not as tall, or good looking, or talented, or rich. Pretty tempting eh?

I LOVE the new seats, and the Rubicon wheels are pretty cool too. I'm not wild about the Sahara wheels, but there is an option for the 7-spoke ones, which I do like.

I have an '11, which I love....but I really would like the new upgrades in it, other than the engine. I love the one in mine....absolutely no problem with it.

Grab handles?

So a couple people now have posted that their Wranglers came with grab handles and coat hangers in the center consoles and their dealers didn't expect that. Is that happening for everyone? Just the people who ordered Saharas? Rubicons? Leather? What's the common reason?

Sahara should at least come with a leather covered console. (and in matching tan at that - the black island looks weird). Might be able to fix that though.

Have to say I like the looks of the 12 seats better, and without stitching. And the katzkin site doesnt show tan leather option. No I dont own a 12.

I'm hoping it comes in earlier...for the sake of my sanity. I mean, at this rate, I'll probably be the last of the first allocation orders that gets delivered.

You didn't get jumped on for your negative opinions, you got jumped on for your reposting your negative opinions any time someone posted pics or had an opinion different from yours.

Reminds my of my little sister when I was young. She would do everything she could to start a fight with me, and when I'd finally get fed up with her antagonizing she'd immediately call for Mom and play the victim.

It's disappointing to see adults do the same thing

I have just got my Unlimited Rubicon cloth and four grab handles and two coat hangers were in the glove box.
I don't know where they came from, but I installed them

The 2013 seats LOOK great, just the seat cushions are too soft with not much support...at least for those of us who tip the scales in the 225 pound range!

I was out jogging Friday morning before work...I turned the corner...and there was a semi parked with about 7 new Jeeps on it....3 GC's, 3 Sahara's and a Rubi. It would have been nice to....you know....get a good deal on a Jeep that "fell of the truck"....

I am a little confused on this.....when I ordered my Rubicon it did not have the trac-loc LSD rear as an option. It is showing up as an option for the sport and sahara. I found here that the locking diffs on the rubicon do not allow this as an option.

So if I am reading correct the Rubicon is much better for slow obstacle type off roading however does not have as much traction control options available as the other versions?....or does it? In 4H does the Rubicon have a disadvantage over a Sahara in 4H?
(more snipage)
I think what is confusing me the most is that I was shocked to see other threads online where owners said the Rubicon was at a disadvantage in wet snowy conditions. I assumed the top of the line Jeep would be superior in every way however the lockers seem to make snowy roads much harder to drive on.....of course I know they are for 4 low only and designed for crawling rather than slippery conditions.

I am confused mostly about 4h as it seems the Rubicon is missing a feature of the others in 4h due to the front and rear lockers. Is the traction control and stability the same for both sahara and rubicon in 4h or will I miss having the trac-loc if I go with my current ordered Rubicon?

Sorry so long and a newbie question however this is a costly decision for me and I would like what is best for my needs....thanks for any help.
Just had to wade into this one for a moment... (not to hijack the thread...)

There is a case to be made that open diffs are better in many types of snow. When there are slick spots on the road, the open diff will spin one tire, allowing the tire with (ever so slightly) more traction to NOT spin and track a straight line. In the same situation, a locked diff or Limited Slip (LSD) will spin both tires on that axle, allowing the vehicle to rotate sideways.

Of course, the specific kind of snow and driving make a huge difference. For me, if I am going slow, I would probably prefer to be locked. The deeper the snow, the more I would prefer to have a locker v LSD or open. If I am moving a little faster, I might prefer a LSD. If I am driving closer to "regular road speeds", I might prefer an open diff. Of course, all of it depends on the snow.

4x4s making moving in slippery conditions easier. However, the major challenge may still be stopping or turning. The problem with a locked Diff or a LSD is that when you turn, you may break traction with both tires on that axle. With an open diff, you are more likely to only break traction with one tire... making it more likely not to spin the vehicle.

If I were skipping Locked, LSD or open, the one I would skip would be the LSD. The Rubicon would let me be open or locked, at will. With a wiring change, it can be modified to lock one axle regardless of speed or transfer case position.

Not hating on the LSD. They are fine for what they do. I've driving all of them in a variety of types of snow and conditions. I'll take the manual locker (ARB, E-Locker, Rubicon Locker) every time. I did like my Detroit, though... but it had some challenges. And the LSD in my F-350 is alright, but always seems to be too tight (when an open diff would serve me better) or too loose (when a locker would be better for the job).

So adding anti-spin differential rear axle on a Sahara makes it have which one?
