Well, I am glad I can FINALLY bring something useful to this forum!! You all have helped me out so much so I have a special treat for you guys... As stated before, my cousin works at the Toledo paint facility, and showed me this today captioned "new color we have." I can only assume it is the new Rock Lobster. Enjoy

I miss flame red already. Could be the light but looks more orange than paint guide on page 1.

I agree. I was all stoked to order on Sept 12th sight unseen. But if that is Rock Lobster and it looks that orange, I'm going to be very disappointed. Now do I wait until 10/1 or later to order to see it first? I was going to order a '12 but barely missed the order window. This has been a very long summer. Looks like its going to be a loon Fall too! Boooo

The forum community has finally infiltrated the the mother ship. This is unprecedented. Your cousin should be very stealthy less he gets busted or get booted. Anyway I'm sure he will come through for many who purchased sight unseen.

Just got done installing a Teraflex 2.5" BB on my 2 week old JKUR. Loving the extra height! Got rid of the factory "stinkbug" stance.

Billet is way darker than those pics would indicate, more of a gray than silver, as I saw on a 2011 charger in person.

I hope it is darker than those pics. I really liked the color of the 2011 charger from the pics posted earlier. I hope it isn't that bright. Those recent pics look just like bright silver metallic. Which wouldn't be too bad, just a fan of the darker shade.

For those concerned about rock lobster after seeing this photograph, this photo has a warm cast to it, and it's also a bit washed out and desaturated. I gave it a super quick adjustment to correct those issues. Mind you this was a 2-minute fix, and I definitely can't guarantee accuracy given the mixed lighting conditions etc... but it's still probably a lot closer to being accurate anyway:

Then after the adjustment, I slapped a swatch from the colors pdf right in the middle of the shot for comparison. It actually matches pretty well, so hopefully this is somewhat close to being roughly correct (again, no guarantees):

Anyway just trying to contribute however I can since I'm a total jeep newbie... but when it comes to photos, I more or less know what I'm doing. I'm sure I'll be asking for advice, since I have a JK on the way as we speak, and it would feel wrong to not help out in some way

I am thoroughly impressed by the change in color to the two photos. Great job on producing the actual color

On the 2012's the Jeep web site was incorrectly showing some of the colors until the official launch of the 2012 jeeps on the web. In other words, we could type in the right stuff to get the 2012's to show up, but some of the links showed wrong colors for the names. I agree that looks Like Rock Lobster.

Yeah, I've seen that shot... I actually prefer the slightly orangish red in the picture you posted over the color swatch in the pdf or the image that I corrected (they seem slightly too far on the pinkish side of red to me personally). But I will say it doesn't exactly match the swatch in terms of hue (more orangish). Maybe the swatch isn't perfectly accurate though, who knows... that image certainly does look much redder than crush, to the point where it appears to be another color. But then I'm pretty confident those images on the site are just photoshopped anyway. I guess time will tell!

Also, for reference, I've pasted the swatch from the pdf on top of the jeep.com image. It's very close, but definitely slightly more orange than the swatch. It's a lot closer to the rock lobster swatch than it is to crush....

I'm new to the forums here on wranglers and I'm looking for a good JK, should I wait for the '13s? Or just go ahead with the '10 4dr rubicon I can't keep my eyes off of

Depending on the color/options you want there may be no need to wait. The dealer I am ordering mine through already has a half dozen or so on the lot, and this is in AZ.

Thanks for the sneak peak of Rock Lobster! I love orange...but not reddish orange. Red fading to orange (or purple) is one if my biggest fears.

Actually, that's what I pictured Red Lobster looking like. Red with some orange in it, just like a steamed lobster. I wouldn't hang my hat on anything the Jeep website lets you build. Remember what black forrest green looked like when you built it?

If you don't mind owning that tired old 3.8L with 80 less hp and old outdated Chrysler interior. At least check out a '12 in person if you can't find a '13. If the price is right anything should be considered, but in my case 2 year old Jeeps didn't offer much savings over new. I'd steer clear if it's modded unless you know the whole story with it.

I figured it out! Basically whoever wrote the piss poor manual is thinking of some preproduction set up. The stitched loop thing slides over the hook thing similar to the door straps. The snap has nothing to do with it. The snap just holds it out of the way when the top is installed.

It would be nice if they put the 2013 manual online so i can save it to my phone. That CD has got to be the most cumbersome way to look at a manual.
