plug in your VIN......................
My Jeep is being loaded for transportation, so delivery is close. Regardless, for curiosity's sake, I'd love to see what is displayed when I access Insight. But I only have the last 8 digits of my VIN. Does anyone know where I might find ALL the digits...besides by calling my sales rep, of course? He's a nice enough man, but he still spells my name wrong...I get the sense that he's really, really, busy or really, really, really distracted.

Thanks,
Lorene

Call 877-426-5337 and they should be able to give you the full VIN.

1 -- Country ------------- 1=USA
2 -- Manufacturer ------- C = Chrysler
3 -- Vehicle Type -------- 4= MPV (Multipurpose Vehicle)
4 -- GVW or Airbags ----- A = No Side (Sport/Sahara)
................................... B = No Side (Rubi & Unlimited)

So mine should be something like:
1C4AJWAGxDLxxxxxx

I'm not sure what the first x is, but so far I've seen X, 1, and 3 as possiblities from other posted VINs. I have the last 6 of the VIN written down at home.
Found over on the 2013 Commando Green Thread. From that I was able to figure out my vin then look it up in insight just change the vin to yours:

Try to pm keschete with your 8 digit vin and she will be able to help you track your jeep and find your whole vin.

VIN and Production

I am really naive when it comes to this, but I already have been given my entire 17 digit VIN. Does that mean they have actually started production on my 2013 Commando Green Wrangler Unlimited Sport, or is it just a VIN "on paper" which will be assigned to my vehicle when it is produced? After repeated checking of the www.jeep.com/vots site, all I see is Production Scheduled.

HI, the sirius radio is not standard it is a $195 msrp option with one year.
and to the second item on a previous post the interior is black. at least
until you get mud on it then it's the color of mud...now if you
order leather it's tan or black...looks great either way just what u like.

Does anybody know if the side air bags create any issues when removing the doors? Do they auto shut off when disconnecting the electrical on the door? Thanks.

Pretty sure the air bag is part of the seat. Have not heard anything regarding a problem with Dior removal and how it affects the seat. I don't believe it changes anything.

It would be a good idea to NOT keep posting the link to insight. PM it of you must, but I KNOW that the Chrysler people do look at these forums and can plug any backdoors. They might not, but if everyone keeps waving around the link....it will probably disappear.

At least 1 I am Jeep Rep told me they look at the forum.

If someone wants info and the Insight doesn't work for you....

PM me with your VIN. I can do it with the last 8 or the whole number, guessing your own vin doesn't work very well for most.

I get lots of Vins missing the number between the G and the D.

If you were told by the dealer that your order was placed on (for example) 9/4/12 and you haven't gotten something yet, it is because your dealer couldn't place your order til 9/12/12 and your status probably won't show up until today or later.

The dealers have allocation periods and you can only order in certain "windows" each month.

Just FYI...

It should be a number. The X denotes a variable.

Whoa. I'm generally an optimist, but in this case I really didn't think the instructions would work for me. But they did! Thanks so much!

Being Built

I woke to an email telling me that my Jeep was being built. About 10 days ago I called IAMJEEP and they gave me a 9/19 shipping date even though they couldn't tell me my status. Looks like it should be done today or tomorrow. Now I just have to see how long it takes to ship it to the Sacramento area.

I have had my jeep for a week now and it is so much better than expected. Everything about this vehicle is awesome. Although the ride is truck-like as expected, it is so smooth and comfortable. This is my 2nd jeep - I had a 1994 for the summer a few years back until it died - and it won't be my last.

For all of you out there waiting for yours, it is well worth the wait!!!

The VIN is assigned before production. Ordered on 8-15, got my VIN on 8-20 and assembly was on 9-6.

Is it just me or is Insight not accessible anymore?

Unhappy

Hi,

I'm trying to configure an unlimited rubicon online with automatic and leather seats, but it won't let me add leather seats unless it's a 6-speed manual.

Is leather not available with the automatic or something? Was planning on ordering one from the dealer today.

Yes it appears they have figured out a way to block us from using insight. Now I'm even further in the dark as to where my Jeep is.

Is it blocked or down because ya'll check it 1000 times a minute and they aren't used to that traffic?
