Flares

Can a rubicon be ordered with painted fender flares and a soft top? I remember this being a stand alone option a while back but I didn't know if it still was.

Painted flares are packaged with painted hard top on the Rubicon. You would need the dual top option to have the soft top and painted fenders.

Does anyone know much about the lifetime warranties. If/what you can do as far as mods. I'm hopefully going to buy a CG JKU (first jeep) the end of jan first part of feb, and I would like to get a 2.5 in lift and 33's and maybe a few other small mods here and there. I was just wondering about the restrictions I don't want to fight with the dealer every time something goes wrong. I plan on having this jeep a long long time.

Quick Question. Thoughts on picking up a 2013 JKU Sarah, or wait for the 2014 to come out? Thanks.

In simple terms, if the dealer or Chrysler can make the argument that whatever you modified caused or contributed to the problem, you have voided your warranty as to that problem. Some dealers are better than others in terms of working with these issues. Even where the dealer does the mod, while the dealer may warrant the mod, itself, that still won't prevent denial of coverage for problems the mod is said to have caused or contributed to. In short, buyer beware.

As far as lifetime warranties, there is a lot of debate about their worth due to exclusions in coverage. Read it carefully before purchasing.

A new yellow that I don't know the name of yet. Flame red is making a comeback from what I am hearing and possibly Mango Tango. No other info yet.

If Mango Tango is coming back out in 2014, Im definately buying one!
The only reason I didnt search for one when I ordered mine is because I wanted the 3.6 and Mango was in 2011 with the 3.8

For anyone who is curious- I was able to order a two door rubicon with half doors and leather and nav. I didn't think that combo was possible, but it is.

The first day Flame Red is available, I'll be giving Pat a call to place my order. Rock Lobster was an unmitigated disaster IMO - obviously Jeep agrees with me.

If I do the midwest protection package and a few years down the line I decided do a lift and tires. I'm thinking it shouldn't effect that lifetime plan... Am I correct in that assumption?

It won't void your warranty, but a dealership is not obligated to repair any damage caused to or by aftermarket parts.

Cosmetic mods shouldn't be any problem but when you start messing with the geometry, mechanical or electrical systems that's where you can have warranty issues. Don't rely on what a dealer tells you unless they put it in writing. Good luck.

well if you want to be driving one now I would recommend the 2013 if you want to wait another 8 months or so you could get a 2014. I personally would enjoy putting miles on a new 2013 vs waiting..

Just spoke to my local dealer about ordering a 2013 with Katzkin leather. Tells me it is not/no longer an option. This option was selectable a couple weeks ago on Jeeps website and from my research on this site and others, it is a worthwhile upgrade. Thoughts?

It looks like the $1000 VW owners ( excludes the Routan) has been extended.

Some of you emailed me this week and I have been way too busy to reply. Sorry about that.

A Corvette or Camaro yellow, Sunburst Orange from 5 years ago, a sand brown, and maybe a light mossy stream green would make the start of a good palette for 2014. Throw in Plum Crazy for the kicker and people to holler about.

A butterscotch color is coming out. Color code is TT, but I don't know what it's called yet.
