Retouched

I retouched Dune, Commando and Rock Lobster (by request) and added my FC mock up also. Hope this helps everyone who is deciding on buying now or waiting. (edit ~ added FURIOUS FUSCIA)

Happy to do more if I find a swatch for the color.

Thanks for the quick work!

I can say the images helped me decide that Commando Green is pretty sweet but Rock Lobster..... is looking much brighter and pinker than I was hoping. The staggered releases really suck cause I would like to see Rock Lobster in person before I make my decision.

What is the last color?

Thanks again!

2013 Unlimited Sahara
Auto trans
Max tow
Leather
Dual top
430n
Connectivity Group
Heated seats
Air
Remote start

Total w/ 6% FL tax and tag/title/dealer fee out the door is $38165

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance
Similar to my configuration. The heat in the seat is included in the leather option if I understood it correctly so if you added $$$ for that as separate option the price is actually a bit lower.

Furious Fuschia.

I'm still not sold that the color in the PDF will be the exact color of Rock Lobster. But, I wouldn't purchase it without seeing it in person.

Between Furious Fuscia (and Rock Lobster to a lesser extent), it appears somebody high up in jeep has decided to market toward female jeepers a bit more which is fine with me. Maybe I am wrong, but I dont see many guys choosing Fuscia. I think Dune, True Blue and Commando look great though.

I agree, so many look completely different in the sun light. Right now I'm thinking Commando and Dune are a safe bet even if they are a bit lighter, darker or even slightly different levels of saturation or hue.

As a member of the female jeepers club, I wouldn't want a pink jeep either. True Blue or Commando look to be my choices at the moment.

In case people weren't aware, the blue that Jakob101st did is not true blue. Just an FYI

That is the FC color that was on a prototype some time back that I was hoping would make it's way into 2013 but didn't.

I'm just a newbie to the world of Jeeps- don't even own one yet. I personally HATE the fuscia color. But I bet Chrysler sells the heck out of it!!! I think there are a ton of women in their audience that would love that color!! MY 11 year old daughter is one of them . . . .

Spreadsheet Final (hopefully) Version

Guys,

Milous has given me the green light. The link for the final version of my spreadsheet is posted below. If you find any errors, send me a PM and I will try to fix them as quickly as I can.

Thanks again to pat@fieldsauto.com and Milous. They provided the data that is in the sheet.

Please note that the data in the spreadsheet is current as of June 8th. We all know that Jeep could decide to make changes that would make the spreadsheet dated or obsolete.

To download the file: click the link below, click the file, click "file", click "download".

Enjoy,
Ron

I realize the Rubicon is the uber offroad version of Jeep but im curious about the 4:10 rear vs 3:73 in Sahara......it must hve a significant affect on gas mileage and engine RPM's (wear) Has Jeep done anything to mitigate that....eg another gear....or do you assume higher operating costs with the Rubi? I'm planning on a 2013 Sahara UL but done see much price diff between that and Rubi which makes me consider the Rubi.

Dude, stop with the FC Blue. Every time I see that mock up I cry a little on the inside that it's not being offered. I seriously want to reconsider a career that requires me to have a fleet of Jeeps so I can have Dune, Commando Green, and FC Blue in my garage.

I feel the same way and agree it's far too painful to relive over and over. It will not be posted again.

Maybe....but then why wouldn't every auto maker do it?

I was told by my source that gave me the dealer sample I had to have removed that the premium soft top is automatically included with the dual top group. Here's why according to my source, one the confusion having two soft top options with the dual top group and making sure everyone who orders the dual top get the premium soft top. and on the dealer sample I posted there is this:

Go a few shades darker, True Blue is available on the Patriots now, anyone who wants to see it can go to a dealer and see the color in the light. It is so dark it is dark navy.

I have a spreadsheet I've been using for about a year that is adjusted a bit differently, but I don't know how to incorporate them in so I'll just try to list them out.

I have a tab for every Jeep at gone to a dealership to drive/discuss.
Within that is both both the MSRP and Invoice price of the vehicle, and every option available for that model. I then highlight or bold the options on that vehicle.

It all sums to two totals, one at Invoice and one at MSRP, along with a separate line for destination.

Below that, I have an adjustment for a percent below invoice, an assumed trade-in balance. (In some states, this reduces your taxable amount), followed by Doc, Destination, taxable total, taxes minus trade-in, title and license, rebates, out of pocket amount.

Example of a 2013 Sport S JKU I priced (Invoice/MSRP/% difference/notes).

Base price - $24,977 - $25,695 - 97.2%

Sport S - $2,136 - $2,400 - 89.0% (Includes deep tint, power, 17" wheels)
Auto Tran - $1,001 - $1,125 - 89.0%
Connect - $432 - $485 - 89.1% (Price adjusted per model and option level)
Airbags - $441 - $495 - 89.1% (Not available on base Sport)
Trac-Lok - $263 - $295 - 89.2%
Hard Top - $708 - $795 - 89.1%
Infinity - $352 - $395 - 89.1% (Includes rear 12v outlet)
Sirius - $174 - $195 - 89.2%
3.73 axle - $85 - $95 - 89.5% (increases tow rating to 3500# for JKU)

Total Options - $3456 - $3880 - 89.1%

Total Pre Dest - $30,569 - $31, 975 - 95.6%
Destination - $925 - $925 - 100%
Grand Total - $31,494 - $32,900 - 95.7%

From here, it drops to one pricing column, and has fields for more adjustments.

*Pre Destination at X% of invoice - $29,957.62 (In this case, -2% of invoice, and it is based on the pre-destination amount. I will add destination in later. I also have a percentage field to let me know how far I am below MSRP...in this case, 6.3% below MSRP).

*Assumed Trade - $XXXX (On mine I'm using $2000 as an example)
*Balance after trade - $27,957.62 (obviously above number minus trade-in)
*Documentation Fee - $161 (In Illinois, it can't be higher than $161.36 this year)
*Destination Fee - $925 (This is where I add it back in).
*Taxable Total - $29,043.62

Tax at 7.25% - $2,105.66 (Tax on taxable total with trade-in adjustment)
Title and License - $126 (This number may vary based on other factors).
Other - $0 (This is to track any other adjustments there may be)
Rebate - $xxxx (I add that here since rebates are adjusted after the fact, I'll assume $0 right now)

Out of pocket amount - $31,275.28

I also have the same above formula copied right below it, only without a trade-in amount. (Yes, taxes are adjusted).

---------------
By adding in a trade-in adjustment box and running it all the way through, it allows the buyer to easily play the "trade-in shell game" because there is a big bold yellow box that calculates the final "Out Of Pocket/Out The Door" amount....which is what most people care about.

In this example, $31,275.58 is my out of pocket amount based on 2% below invoice and a $2000 trade-in with no other rebates.

But if the dealer "insists" they can only give me $1250, that is fine. With a few key strokes, I can tell them that $1250 is acceptable...but I'll need 4.5% below invoice (which now calculates out to $31,260.03 out of pocket). I can easily tell how much the trade in allowance impacts the overall price and percent below invoice.

Of course, if you don't have a trade in, you are already in a better position.

Speaking of trade ins, has anybody traded in another vehicle for their new jeep lately? I have read that used car prices are at all time highs. Are dealers being generous with their trade in offers? Or are they still offering thousands below what Edmunds (or another site) says your car is worth and hoping to negotiate from there? Negotiating a trade in is my absolute least favorite part of the buying process. Maybe I should just throw my car on autotrader or something like that this time.
