I contacted the dealer I have been talking to today and he mentioned that the colors I was interested in have an * next to them and he was unsure if they were for a specific package. The colors are Commando green and Rock Lobster.

Any idea what the * might mean next to them?

Between December 26th and January 2nd of 2011/12, I sat down with 4 different Jeep dealers and a Toyota dealer trying to purchase two vehicles.

Ahhh...the trade-in dance. It took awhile, but that initial offering from the dealer always sucked.

Go to CarMax in get quote first (along with printing off KBB, and Edmunds). ....or just sell it first and don't deal with the trade-in.

In the end, know your OTD price, and you can back adjust everything else from there.

I think it will always depend on the car. But, carmax kind of allows you a little more leverage. Carmax will give you a quote valid for 7 days, and it seems to be on the high end. So, you know for sure what one place will give you for your car. You can then go to a dealership and know what price you won't go under.

My man sold his 04 Tacoma with 50k miles on it for 11k this year using Carmax. The dealership wouldn't meet that price, but with Carmax he got a check. Dealership gave us promissary notes for the amount we were going to bring back. All worked out wonderfully.

I'd guess that neither color is available to order yet.
Commando starts production 9/4
Rock Lobster starts 10/1

I don't know how long the order banks will open prior to production....a month?

That's what I was thinking also. He didn't mention any other colors having this but maybe he was only telling me or only looked at the specific colors I was interested in.

Well we traded in our 06 mustang get convertible and got blue book retail for it so I would say that we did very well on our trade.

I had one dealer tell me they would use the Autotrader Trade in App price as long as everything checked out. an '04 Expedition XLT with leather and 126K miles came out at $7800. A little higher than KBB I believe but I can't remember. Of course then I had a few other dealers calling wanting me to bring it buy as they could probably offer more...yeah, right! we'll see.

Happy to do more if I find a swatch for the color.
I love the color mock-ups, thanks for doing that. Any chance at seeing the Billet color in one?

Anybody have a solid example of Billet that I should use? I'd be happy to.

EDIT ~ sorry, forgot I had it from a earlier post. I'll do it first thing in the morning. Left the laptop at work.

I think the first time everyone sees a hot blonde in her muddy pink Jeep on a trail people will think that color looks a lot better :-). Unique colors on a Jeep are part of what make them stand out. That said, I'm going to buy Crush, but I'm not going to laugh at the pink ones.

Good job on the mock ups! It's going to be a tough decision for anyone who likes the earth tones. I'm looking to get back into a Jeep (I traded my 2010 dark charcoal JKUR for a truck). I will have to see them in person before I decide. Not sure how the Rugged Brown will look on a Wrangler, but that may be interesting as well.

I don't mind all the crazy colors they have been coming out with. Not many vehicles you can do that on!

Quick and dirty, and not as awesome as Jakob, but here's my shot at billet:

Not a bad job, dude... Even if some of these mock-ups are a little off, they should give all buyers who are interested in 2 or more colors some pause... I'm so torn with Commando--I either love it or hate it.

Those look great Void. Nice to see matching fenders and tops and from another angle.

I do a forum member discount, as a member I give preferred pricing of 1% below invoice. If you have the affiliate rewards number thru tread lightly or your employer I give pricing of 2% below invoice.

This month we are selling all new in stock wranglers at employee price. And yes I would honor the 2% as well with a valid affiliate rewards control number.

Thanks bud. My wife is insistent on getting a white hard top, and I wanted to see what I am in for. I think it actually looks kinda cool. Reminds me of the old Ramcharger, Blazers, Broncos of the 70's and 80's that all had white tops.

I personally think the new Rugged Brown coming out would look awesome with a tan top as well.
