Did I miss something? Is Jeep offering the option of a white top for 2013?

Anyway as a grad gift for my masters- I am getting my Jeep (unlimited) back!
I was going to order a 2012 Rubicon with exactly what I wanted (no NAV, no heated seats, or auto temp control bs) to keep it within price range.
Any advice for ordering one through the dealer? Can I still get 2012- or do I have to get 2013? I am guessing the price will be a pretty hefty difference with the 10th anniversary Rubicons this year. ANY ADVICE OR TIPS WOULD BE MORE THAN APPRECIATED!
Thanks!
Congrats on your Masters AND on being able to get another Jeep! Look 9 posts above yours for a link to the spreadsheet, should have most of the pricing info.

Jeep is not, though they should. I will be installing a used white one on our Orange Crush. Already purchased it. Guy had one for sale out here in AZ, the wife wasn't sold on how it will look until that photo shop pic. So thanks again!

Ya they have for awhile ....
.
.
.
Only kidding ....
I think it would be kewl if ya could
I emailed Jeep a month or so ago asking them if that was going
to be a possible option on the 2013's but sadly they said no
He wanted to see what it would look like so I did it for him.
He could either get a painted hardtop and have it painted White
or buy/trade with someone that does have one. Like I said ....
I'd like a painted Black or Tan top on the White Unlimited I plan on getting !
Rob .....

Edit ... @ RocJeepn ... Nice find !
Maybe I'll try same ... Find a used one in ANY color and have it painted
and then sell the Black 3-piece one that comes with the Dual Top !

So, has Jeep made a white one in the past for the JK's or are you guys actually finding what would be the "body color match hard top" for a white Jeep?

Can't tell ya since I am NEW to this Jeep stuff.
It was only back in April (2012) that I even considered a Jeep
even thou back in 1980 my Wife wanted one back then but
settled for a Dodge 2wd Ramcharger then got a 4x4 version
in 1988. I am sure the people in the know here will chime in
on when the painted hardtop was first offered.

Gotcha. I was about 99% sure a white hard top was not ever offered (as they have for past body styles) on the JK. Body color top makes sense. Should be an interesting look.

Body Color hard top was first made available on the 2011 Sahara and was then extended to the Rubicon for 2012.

Don't forget, you can ALWAYS buy a painted hard-top from Mopar....it will just be a zillion dollars.

2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited - Exterior Accessories | Mopar

I didn't see white there, but I'm sure it can be had as well. Or buy a primed one and paint it.

Rear Seats

Does anyone know if the rear seat issue has been resolved with the new seats / vendor? THe issue of no support in center seating position?

Great question. I wonder if "improved seat comfort" means they've completely redesigned the back seat...

Seats

It wouldn't be "improved seat comfort" for me. It's for the kids. And with having 3 of them, I get a kick out of the "JK Ruined Jeep" threads.

If the JKU weren't available, the Jeep would not even be an option for me- the kids come first- ALWAYS.

Here's hoping they did something with it.

Whoa there. I wasn't insinuating that the change, if applicable, would be for you. "Improved seat comfort" is one of the changes for 2013 listed by Milous on the first page of this thread, so I just wondered whether the fact that they changed the seats at all meant that it's possible they could also have changed the rear seat middle.

As an aside, I was #2 in a 3-kid family. All boys. We destroyed everything in sight until we were all about 25. Good luck to you!

I hate that I can't get some of the photo-shop pics to come in at work.

The GF/wife as of next month was asking me (half joking....for now) this morning if it was too too early to trade in her Rav-4 on a Fuchsia Wrangler. I told her we could plasti-dip the wheels and I wanted to send her a photo of the mock-up to wet the old appetite.

Thanks, but that is alright, I'll just show her tonight on my computer. I doubt she would trade in a vehicle she just purchased 5 months ago...but it is nice to have her full support on a Wrangler purchase. If I can get her to "want her own" Wrangler....it will mean full Wrangler support down the line.

No offense intended or taken Void

All I meant was I hope they fixed the seat for that middle rider- that way the Jeep can be a family fun vehicle. If not for the 5 passenger capacity, I wouldn't buy one. Cuz if I can't take my kids along on the fun, I'm out.

I "rode the hump" in 1982 from MD to TN in my dad's Granada, and let me tell you- it SUCKED!

I saw this article in another thread this morning and thought it was worth posting here. Several in this thread have wondered if there will be upcoming discounts in the months ahead to close out the 2012's. According to this article, more Wranglers were sold in May 2012 then any other month in the past 25 years. Things could change in the next few months, but it does appear there will not be much excess surplus this fall if these current trends continue. Those hoping for heavy discounts on 2012's in the months ahead may be disappointed.

"Jeep sold more Wranglers in May than it has in any other month of the model’s 25-year history, leading the automaker to its best May in 12 years..............."

To be more pedantic nrs12: you can't factory order a 2012, but there are still some on dealer's lots. If you feel you need to factory order (like I do), then it's 2013 time! Depending on your needs - as robskully says, you might find a 2012 on a lot that's within your travel range.

I missed out on the 2012, because I am picky about options (so I am factory ordering), but so far I'm liking what the 2013 updates on this thread have listed, so I'm ok with the wait.

Whatever color I end up with I'm getting the painted top, it will make it easier to have the top painted white if I so desire. Or I may have a white or reflective vinyl wrap put on the top. In my triple digit summer sun I'm taking steps to reduce that cabin heat.

I still think the Billet color with black wheels is going to be the sweetest color combo for '13. To the guy who posted that mock up... thanks. That's exactly what I had envisioned.

Only, small downside of her being a Wrangler Fan and having her own is that you will have to at least double the Mod Budget!

And I thought one was going to be $$! Two may be twice the fun, but also twice the Mod Budget!

This is my first post ever, but I've been lurking since last March 2011 (finally setup an account after finally considering one). But anyway, I wanted to say that I greatly appreciate the mockups but this Billet seems a little inaccurate. There are plenty of Dodge examples on Google under different lights which show the dark metallic Grey which I think the color really is. I love your mockup but I think it gives the impression that it has a slight tint of blue in it. I don't think you want to set some people up for a huge let down now...
