On the first post it says the new 2013 soft top is three ply, vs one for the 2012.

Per the brochure for 2012MY, it says that top is three ply as well.

Just got word back from the sales manager at my dealer that my JKUR auto order is getting changed to 4.10 axles, and that I should have some sort of confirmation of the change in a few days.

This would NOT have been possible without the help of Pat and joerienii. My dealer was extremely reluctant to pursue the issue. It was not until I asked him to engage his supply chain manager for his business center that was willing to help. At that point he was sort of stunned, and asked where I got my information from, and was quite helpful.

Reading this forum/thread has certainly made me more informed than my dealership, so thank you all for your help.

I'll be buying a 2013 this year (I actually just put my order on hold thanks to this thread) Thanks for all the great info! I went to the lots expecting to buy a 12 and just couldn't find one like I wanted anywhere local so I decided to order. I was planning to order a Red Sahara, but then couldn't get a 2013 that way - so I ordered a Bright White. When I heard about Rock Lobster I decided to wait on it. After seeing the Mock-ups I'm really liking the billet, commando, true blue and rock lobster. Man it's going to be a long few months waiting now... I'm moving from a 97 XJ that I've been driving since 99, so a couple more months shouldn't kill me right? What's the best way of seeing when Rock Lobster hits the system for ordering?

Also, I read the whole thread and was interested in seeing the seat changes. It looks that at one point there may have been a picture of the seats posted, but I can't see it now. Anybody got a pic of one?

Did you read from the start over and over like me hoping to find the pictures only to realize it was taken down? Yeah, I'd be interested in seeing it too. I think Pat had to take it down cos someone complained and he had to do some damage control.

I saw the pictures (have in fact), and what was posted look similar, but not identical to the 12 Grand Cherokee seats. Hard to explain. They look nice. I'm curious what the new fabrics are like.

Yep I read through the whole thread once, then went back through with a word search to see if I could find the seats and no joy. Figured the pics must be down now.

Axe_handle - I'm interested in the leather especially - if it's weather resistant etc. I know it'll get rained in / flying mud eventually... This will be my daily driver but I'm buying a wrangler for a reason :-)

Good catch!

Might have to wait until August or September and official introduction of the 2013MY to get the true story on the new top.

Man, that's the same setup I want. What city/dealer are you using in FL?

Thanks Everyone!
Winter Chill broke my heart with the loss, and all I could find in Cosmo Blue were automatics. So I started looking at ordering. Only one of 4 dealers had no problem with the idea of ordering, but they were telling me that I could still get winter chill like it was no problem even when I had not seen one at all looking at 3 different regional (northwest, south, and CA) inventories. I smelled fishiness and started doing more research before going in there.
Wow I just got the crash course in ordering/buying! Finally made it through the 30+ pages. I have learned so much!

Thanks for all the awesome mock ups- I am still undecided now on color. although my husband did joke that he would not be driving my jeep if I got the pink one. I would not have the nerve to actually do it. Esp since he is the pushing force for me to trade in the mom crossover and get my baby back.

If you order from factory, does the 30 day affiliate timeline apply to the date of order or date of receipt? I applied through tread lightly today.

some dealers want the number when you order, I personally ask for it about a week before your Jeep arrives so I can validate the control number.

So after putting my 2013 order on hold today to wait on Rock Lobster the inventory manager from the dealership called. He says Rock Lobster is listed as Late and Limited availability. His best guess is he won't be able to order one till January. The date I saw in this thread was start of production October 1, possible order earlier.

I would love to know how solid the Oct 1 date estimate is for Rock Lobster. Any info out there? Is he out of the loop or just trying to get me to stick with my current order?

So I've been thinking. Since Black Forest Green isn't available this year (ugh), I was going for the Rugged Brown Pearl. But the more I think about it, I keep veering back towards good 'ol black. And living up here in the PNW, it won't be brutal during the summers.

And besides... I don't want to wail until next year to get my jeep. Maybe it's just time to pull the trigger on a black/black Jeep and then lift it and put black wheels on it. Hmm...

Just ordered a Sport S Unlimited!! So excited!!! Got it for under Tread Lightly, and got a very fair price on my trade-in too. Thank you, PAPA'S DODGE of New Britain, CT! I absolutely recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a new wrangler.

Which would be enough for me to cancel my order and go somewhere else, even if the deal wasn't as good. Lying to me isn't a very good business model.

Anyone know whether incentives like military, student, conquest, etc. will be available for 2013? Any reason they wouldn't be? Would they become available when the 2013s start hitting dealer lots?

Oh, and again take this skeptically like always, but my salesman said that there are no more Crush Sahara's with painted hard tops left in AZ and if ya want a '13 in Crush, to order it now, he says his contact told him that they will only be painting Orange Crush into August.

I ordered a 2 door Sport S in Gecko on Friday June 9th. The dealer officially placed the order Monday the 11th. I got my VON that day. I have been checking on the Jeep site by entering my last name and VON. Nothing shows yet. Can anyone tell me when I will start to see some acknowledgement that the factory has the order. I understand that production doesn't start until July 23rd but I would still like to see that they at least have it in their system. It's going to be a long wait! Now I have to work on a good vanity plate for it.

Most likely the military rebate will be there, lease conquest and recent college will probably go away for the very beginning of the model year.

Interesting. Do these normally go away at the beginning of model years?

Edit: Pat, I am reading a thread from last year where people were beating you up for saying that the rebates would disappear before September. People sure were mean to you!

You'll have to pm me the link, if wranglers were distressed inventory only then would I say you'll see the same incentives. But may was another record month so I doubt you'll see the incentives they have now. Just like usaa, this month wranglers and grand Cherokees don't qualify. It's anyone's guess, I don't have a crystal ball. I go by history and what has been done in the past.

Very interesting...

After a ton of searching, I've located 3 possible 2012 Wranglers I would consider (all are a bit of a drive, but they all have the magic combination of 5 speed, LSD, Connect, Infinity, a black hardtop, and 2 even have the mythical 3.73 axle ratio). But if there is no dealer incentive to move them at months end, there isn't really any incentive for me to purchase a 2012 off the lot.....not when a 2013 could be ordered (the way I want it) for a similar price.

Makes sense. Thanks!
I lost track of the thread, but last year some guy kept claiming that he had insider info from Chrysler that there would be a $1000 cash rebate for the 2012s as soon as they were released. You disagreed, and he and others didn't like your perspective. At one point the dude demanded an apology from you, if it turned out that you were wrong. As I understand it, you turned out being correct!

The 430N is Garmin based, so a Garmin NAV may do the same thing.

Honestly, I was torn on the NAV for a while until I utilized it in my man's Jeep. It's very nice to have built in, and you just get into the habit of putting in your destination before you start to move. You can set favorites and home, and those can be used while moving, I believe.
That's why I don't like bundling. I ordered the 130 radio with connectivity group so
I have the iPhone integration. I have TomTom GPS on the iPhone and all kinds of apps for traffic and the like. Bundling electronics with a vehicle is a bad idea. Remember the 6-cd changer you sprung for that is now obsolete?
