Thanks for gather all the information and creating the pricing spreadsheet. I'll give you a tip to eliminate all the "IF" statements. There's a function call SUMIF that allows you to conditionally SUM a range of values, such as the Invoice values based on the values in the "Add to Vehicle". The syntax for example on the Sport tab - 'Invoice price of options' would be:

=SUMIF(E2:E16,"=Y",B2:B16)

Basically this says look at the range of cells, E2 through E16 and when the cell's value is equal to the condition, in this case "=Y", include the value in column B of the corresponding row in the sum.

Thanks again for all the work putting this together!

Pat has a 2012 COD....

But I do understand what you are saying....

Don't get me wrong, I think the COD looks awesome and I'm pretty sure its targeted to my demographic, but 3 months after the game was released I think they would have done better to drop all the COD references and call it something else. The 2011 Black Ops eddition now seems like its 10 years old instead of one year thanks to all the game references. At the very least dealers should have stopped ordering them after they stopped airing COD commercials. Now the only thing on the lots is COD and stripped down 2 door black Jeeps.

Like many on this board I am very close to pulling the trigger on a new 2013 Unlimited which will be my first jeep. I have driven the 2012 Sports, Sahara's and Rubicon's and now am just trying to decide what exactly I want. However, my question is this: How big of an upgrade is this new 2012+ engine that is now being used? Is the performance/mpg/acceleration night and day over the previous years models, or is the difference much smaller? I usually buy vehicles slightly used, and I am very intrigued about a 2011 used Rubicon on Ebay that is for sale in another state. It is that former "Mango Tango" color which I think is the best looking color I have ever seen on a jeep, and the price is thousands below new of course. Like I said though, it is quite the drive to get to this vehicle. So is there much difference in driving a 2011 Rubicon vs a 2012/13 Rubicon? I live in Wichita and there are no used jeeps for sale in the city right now for me to drive and compare to a new.

I'm wondering if there was some type of special incentive for dealers to sale the COD's...because there are a TON of them sitting on the lots. They must have ordered them for some reason.

I didn't help that they only came in black and silver....which is what half of the Wranglers sitting on lot are already.

I was heartbroken when I found out Mango Tango wasn't available for the 2012's. Then my nuts were stomped on when Sahara Tan was dropped after about 5 minutes.

As for the Rubi....2 door or 4 door? Stick or auto?
The issue with the pre 2012's was really poor overall gearing. But since Rubi's come with 4.10's....that allowed the 3.8 to run a lot better in stock format.

The new engine is really nice, but the new auto tranny is what makes it sing.

The one I am looking at is a 2011 Rubicon Unlimited - Automatic. It also comes with a "Warranty Forever" on the powertrain which I thought was cool as well. It appears to be a base four door auto Rubicon with the Duel top being the only option that the original owner added to it. 27k miles. Dealer is asking 30,800 for it. Carfax checked out clean.

No, none of the 2013s has VIN numbers yet, as far as I have been told. You can call 1-877-426-5337 and they will check for you. They said there has not been any activity yet on the 2013s because they are still building out the last of the 2012s.

It will probably be a few weeks before we get any specifics. As for the misspelling of you name. It sounds silly, but I would make them FIX IT!!

I have ordered many vehicles and it is nice because your window sticker comes with your name on it. So it says, This Jeep was built for: Kaya Eschete. So if your name is not right in the system, have them fix it before production starts.

I ordered on the 5th so I should be one of the early ones to get a VIN #. I will keep everyone posted if I hear something.

Here's the thing... the COD stuff are decals, and pretty easy to remove. Some dealers may do it for you.

If you like the look and the options in the COD edition, go for it. Remove the badges and be a happy boy.

Here are the "new" colors side by side, everything looks pretty good. Rock Lobster seems to look a little more RED in this version?

I already replied ....
Sheet is blurry but using CarZen 2012 pricing it looks like you got Invoice Price (including Destination charge). Ya you could have gotten 1% less with a discount program = 350. Or more maybe more if you haggled.
Is your price good or bad depends on your pocketbook
Based on what I am going to try to settle for at 2.54% under invoice
you would have saved another $890.
The price I am going for is Out The Door = Price of Jeep + Documentation Fee.
This will include the Chrysler Affil. Discount where the Dealer gets 2% of the Invoice back from Jeep.
I am not trading in anything, or using their financing or any other rebates.
Rob ....

BTW ... Can't wait to replace my Profile pic with my NEW Jeep ;-)

Except that the COD stuff is in the gauge cluster and embroidered all over the seats as well. In my case the $45K price tag is the deal breaker, but I'm sure the reason most are on the lots are because of the badging.

hi Ed
I worked in Cambridge until this week, now company moving to Stoughton. We were also just bought and new owners will be moving us back near Boston by turkey day. Live out inthe sticks on the MA/NH border. My first jeep so I can not tell you who is good or bad. You can try a site called DealerRater.com and read the reviews. I do and I have also done a search using google to see other sites that people can give Dealer reviews.

So you're saying no leather option on Sport or Sport S models in 2013?

Correct, no leather from the factory for 2013 Sport and Sport S's...as of now at least.

2012 was a bit odd because there was the "factory" leather for $900 (Sahara/Rubi only), and the Katzkin leather installed at the factory for $1600 for the Sport/Sport S (black only....but you could also order it for the Sahara/Rubi for $1500....with the $100 difference being the 115v outlet already being standard on the Sahara/Rubi)

You can always have your dealer install Katzkins in any color....or install them yourself as well.

So the answer is NO leather of any kind is an option for the Unlimited Sport or Sport S?

Has anyone had experience with having the dealer add leather at the dealership?

Pat or Milous, when do you expect some promo materials to be available on 2013 models? While I love the mock-ups, I'd just like to see something official....as everyone would.

There are several old threads out there if you search under "Katzkin"

Here is a decent one...
http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/wha...ts-133731.html

People out there have ordered them and put them in themselves.

Sure about the warranty? Any lifetime warranty I've ever seen is non-transferable.

Get a couple cans of white plastidip / orange if you like and spray away at your Fenders. If you mess up, just peel it off and start over. The sahara fenders are also plastic and the original black fenders do look really nice and of a better quality. That's my opinion anyway...

Here is an interesting option for those buying a 2013 Wrangler that live in the Southeast. The CarMax location in Norcross, Ga is allowed to order brand new Jeeps of any sort. I think it used to be a Jeep dealership. When it was purchased by CarMax, they retained the rights to buy new Jeeps from Chrysler.

I called them last week and they told me they would order me whatever I wanted.

My plan is this. I'm going to give my local Jeep dealership and the Norcross CarMax my order and let them know that I am going to use the Chrysler Affiliate program. I'll order from the one who gives me the best price.

CarMax's web site is www.carmax.com. I have had very good experiences with them in the past.

Cool. Any reason to believe carmax will behave differently from a regular chrysler dealer though? (I don't know much about carmax, except that they buy used cars...)
