Say, you aren't the guy who ordered the 2-door Sahara on Pasab just before I ordered mine?
I wasn't on Pasab when I ordered. I just logged into the website and did it. If they are offering the Sport S w/ tan interior and 2012 Rubi wheels I may go that way. I've always thought that the jeep should essentially come in 2x trim leves. Rubicon and Sport but with ever option available up to the mechanicals that come with the Rubi.

I think there are just enough variations in the options available based on this thread I need to wait till 1st week of June when i think the official order brochure comes out. I'm also holding out hope there will be a late breaking color add to the exterior options.

I'm curious to know if the Sport S wheels will change. The Rubi wheels are getting darker, and the Sahara wheels are getting darker....hopefully the Sport S wheels will get darker, or at least come with better tires than the Goodyear SR-A's.

Good question on the wheels. Just curious, anyone know why the Sahara has the 18in wheel? I assumed it was that the Sahara was intended for customers that wanted a well appointed and relatively comfortable driving street mobile.

I do linke the mineral grey wheels...pretty nice on some colors. The satin, sparkle, and mineral don't always "go" with the exteriors they offer. Would be nice if you had some options there. Particualrly if you could get the Black CoD style.

Dissapointed again no Hemi or Diesel option. I agree the color choices are pretty weak.

Retraining of the sensors when tires are rotated is completely automatic, no user intervention is required.

Getting the pressure exactly the same on all tires is easy, just get a digital readout gauge with decimal increments. For my Grand Cherokee the placard setting is 33psi. I fill all tires to 33.1 or 33.2 and the readouts all display 34 psi as the The TPMS rounds up.

Any word on a new red color that Pat mentioned or if Stinger Yellow will be available? Do you think Polynesian Green will have a blue hue or have some yellow in it? Thanks.

That's probably the bit i'm most interested in as well. Jeep has mastered the bell curve of color choices. Awesome to Pretty Good to What the Hell Were You Thinking!?

Ok, thanks for the info. My 09 Tahoe had the individual readouts but had to be retrained when rotated. Otherwise the backs would show as the fronts in the display and vise versa. Looks like Jeep took care of that issue.

No word yet on additional colors for 2013. Stinger Yellow is Dodge only. Have not seen PG, paint chips have not been released.

The first gen TPMS, introduced by Chrysler in the 2002 model year, required programming steps via the EVIC and using a magnet placed momentarily at each wheel. This system was wireless and totally independent of the vehicle wiring/Bus system, meaning that it could be installed in any year and any brand vehicle.

A few years later the 2nd gen system was introduced, featuring automatic programming for all sensor locations. 2nd gen systems include a base version with no readouts (just a single warning lamp) and the premium version with individual readouts.

There never have been plans to put a factory Hemi in the Wrangler. As for the diesel it's hard to say, maybe they'll offer it in the 2014 refresh, nothing confirmed as of yet.

This will be my first Jeep! I've been researching and trying to get the most information available about ordering my new 2013 JK Sahara. Does anyone know of extra deals/ better/ add on discounts to the tread lightly 1% (2%) off invoice?

Thanks for the info. Im in the same boat as JayMan and this helps me make my choice. I did decide to go with the Sport S instead of the Sahara, add all the options I want and take stuff off that I don't need like painted flares. Im just going to chop them anyways.

What sucks the most is I was going to order a 2012 in Crush but missed it by a few weeks. What did people do before internet?!

So it would appear pointless to order the Max Tow Pkg or the Tow Pkg anymore since you now get the Sway Dampening stock. That is unless they really reduced the cost of these pkgs. You can get a class III hitch with a 4-pin wiring harness for $89, add $50 for the 3.73 gears and you have Max Tow for $139 vs $320. Installing hitches is easy, especially this size. I've installed class V hitches and even those aren't too bad once you figure out how to hold it in place while you bolt it on.

Has there been any rumors of possible special editions for 2013?

I probably won't be actually ordering my Jeep until around the September timeframe, and figured I may as well prepare myself for a possible longer wait if a special edition sounds nice enough.

They upped the price for the 3.73 gears by themselves to $95 now.

I honestly don't get why 3.73 isn't standard on the Sahara an Sport S as they have 32" tires stock. The base Sport only has 29.5" tires so the 3.21 makes sense, I test drove a 2012 Sahara Manual with 3.21 gears and it was still a bit lacking, no better than my wifes 2007 Rubicon with 4.1 gears.

Fleet mpg is the answer.

And yup, the 3.21's with the 5-speed are a lot like 4.10's with the 4 speed. Outside of fist gear being a hair slower (11.52 vs 11.64), the final ratio for 3.21's and the 5 speed are geared quick than 4.10's and the 4 speed for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear. (7.03 vs 6.44, 4.53 vs 4.10, and 3.21 vs 2.83).

MPG counts, I think they have to meet the overall brand regulations.
In a recent survey I've read, most new car buyers have the gas mileage as the first priority.
And other than the active people in this forum, most buyers will only stay on pavement and 99% won't need a Rubicon, which is the favorite here.

True. As my favorite play areas are now developed, I'm one of the 99%....

For the 2 door I agree but the 4 door makes a decent small SUV for towing single axle trailers/boats but needs at least the 3.73 to do so. I'd think if MPG was that important then they wouldn't be putting 32" tires on the Sahara and Sport S. The Rubicon should come stock with 33" tires, maybe not 12.5" wide 33" tires but a 285/70r17 or even a new size 265/75r17 since no mfg likes putting tires wider than a 265 on a stock vehicle as it wears out steering components quicker.

It was the 2011 Charger that was in Billet.
