I disagree, my wife's GC and my wrangler have it and I absolutely love it. I wouldn't own a jeep without it.

Me too, I want a Sahara with half doors. I guess I'll just pay to have them put together and painted. I hope they can get the doors to match the rest of the Jeep.

I think you can order bestop element kits painted to match starts at like 620 according to my qtec catalog. I think I might just get some super doors instead.

I put in my order a little over a week ago. Lots of good info in this thread! Anyone know how long it will be before the VOTS system moves on to the next step?

I had it my Vette and loved it. You just set the temperature then leave it alone. Im not sure why everyone always thinks its a hassle. The key is to not direct the vent directly on you. The thermostat is in the cabin, not your skin, so you'll freeze to death long before the entire cabin gets to 72 degrees.

I was wondering the same thing. I've had thermostat controls on many of my cars and I think it's great. Set it to 69-70 and done. It will blast ice cold AC when needed but it won't blast cold air in the winter while it gets up to temperature. My wife doesn't get it either. She refuses to just leave it alone. She'll get into the car in the winter and she'll turn her side up to 80. I tell her that her side won't get warmer any fast than mine but she will need to turn it back down when it does. That to me is a hassle.

That is how my wife is in our house. "its hot in here" then she goes to the thermostat and turns it down to 65* thinking its going to get to 70* faster.

There have been a few questions about time between order and VOTS - for a single example: I placed my order at dealer on 6/16, just got my first email this morning and I'm showing up in VOTS now (I've been checking daily, not that I'm excited or anything)

Not sure on the seats since we haven't seen a picture or a description
That's interesting I'm wondering too.

All this info is so helpful. The dealers Arounf us in tn are all clueless when it comes to info about the rubicon model. We are going to become first time JKUR owner when they will let us order one. The dealership wanted to find us one back in may and now they have decided we are going to have to order one. The dealership told us last Saturday that 2013 JKUR are on restrictions and can't be ordered at this time. This didn't make since to me since I've noticed some of you have been able to order the rubicons. My patience is wearing thin but if they keep this up maybe I'll be able to order commando.

knb, if you want to place an order for a 2013 now, talk to some more dealers near you. On the other hand, if you want to wait for Commando, wait and get what you really want.

The dealer closest to me just gave me a call yesterday trying to get me to buy a 2012 that doesn't match my 'must have' options. I have told him multiple times prior to the call yesterday that I'm happy to order and wait for a 2013, and his answer has been, and was still yesterday "there isn't any way to order 2013 yet". I asked him point blank yesterday "When will I be able to place an order for a 2013?"... ans: "Nobody knows yet, Jeep hasn't announced it." I didn't bother to tell him I've already placed an order with another (admittedly, 1hr away, but still in the same state) dealer. I don't intend to burn any bridges at my closer dealer, but I'm also not going to bother listening to his sales pitch, since it isn't based on fact.

The short of this? Some dealers are willing to work with you up front, others want to play games and still others are merely ignorant/misinformed. It's up to you to decide which one your particular dealer is. I wouldn't recommend doing business with a dealer that plays games or is ignorant/misinformed.

I think the dealer is just trying to sell you a 2012. I had the same problem with a dealer near me who lied and said orders don't open until September. I told him i knew different, including a different local dealer who would put an order in on 6/5/12. At that point he just stated he didn't want to waist an allocation for a JKUR on my low Affinity pricing. Bottom line is if your dealer is not earning your business find a different dealer.

Wow! He didn't want to "WASTE" an allocation???? They must not sell that many Jeep Wranglers. Most dealers are happy to have a sold order even if they aren't making a big profit, because they don't have to pay for the vehicle to sit on their floor plan and it counts toward their overall numbers. Those numbers help them get incentives through Chrysler.

Went to a couple of dealerships yesterday. One had 1 '12 sport and a couple of Altitudes, the other had NOTHING. Inventory is getting very slim around here now.

The dealership that had nothing left had an Arctic Edition and they dealer traded it to get rid of it. They said everybody who came to look at it liked the Jeep, but hated the black wheels. They never could sell it because of those black wheels so they dealer traded it off. Everything else in their inventory sold and they are wiped out until the '13s hit the lots now.

I think Jeep is making a mistake by using black wheels as standard equipment on Rubis and 'Haras now. Some people love them.. most don't.

What's an allocation? Are dealers only allowed to order a certain number? Thanks.

Yeah I agree with both of you! They aren't trying to sell us a 2012 anymore since they can't even get a rubicon. They found some we wanted but they couldn't work out a deal with the dealer that had them or they were sold.

Is it different if they can order a 13 that is "sold" like ours would be since we have been waiting since may. Or if they are ordering it for a dealer car (to sit on lot). Idk I'm the less patient one. My fiancé is more patient with people than I am on things like this. He is getting what he wants on trade in for his car is why we are putting up with this.

allocations are funny. they get so many a month. if the sell a certain number they can get more. if the reach a quota they get a kick back. it keeps them from ordering 500 jeeps and only sell 10

You can not raise allocation numbers if you don't sell more cars. Some dealers want to make a big profit on each car and don't care if they only sell a few.

If you want to grow a dealership or focus on a niche vehicle say like Corvette or Jeep then it is smart to sell more cars at a lower profit margin. Then you get more allocations.

Both types of dealers can do okay, but the sell more for less seems smarter to me when you sell a niche vehicle that is popular.

Hello everyone. I've been on this thread for a few weeks reading all the updates, decided to post. I'll be in the market for a 2013 wrangler within a month or two. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a knowledgable, reputable Jeep dealer in or around the Pittsburgh PA area. Someone that will haven fair price, work with the Chrysler affiliates discount and hopefully won't try to screw me on my trade in. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The dealer is part of a chain, and this location is the smallest of them. All of the locations have a ridiculous 2nd sticker of like $6K on all the Rubicons. Inventory costs don't seem to be a problem for them. They have a 2011 Sahara that they just put on manager special...

Wanted to clarify a little, dealers are on month to month allocation. The factory can only build so many wranglers per month. When I looked yesterday all wranglers are on restriction until the next allocation period which is next month. Your dealer can still put your order in now. All it means is the factory has reached its max capacity. Your order will still be good, but you won't be one of the first 2013s built.

I wouldn't say that. It seems like first mod people do is swapping out the wheels, and it seems like 80% of the time they go with a black wheel of some sort. The 2013's are actually grey. The chrome look on Wranglers is starting to look dated.
