I vote for True Blue.....only because I like Dozer better.....and I if I end up with it, that will be one less Wrangler in the same color.

Yes....petty...I know....

So this may be pretty off topic, but after seeing some of the places this thread has gone, maybe not... (see argument about "deposit")

There are some pretty intelligent, experienced people here (I myself am only 23), and I figured a lot of you have been there and done that, where as this will be my first time not using a dealership for financing. That being said, here is my question:

Should I go with the finance company ENCS got me approved through (Andrew's Federal Credit Union, never heard of them). Or a trusted bank I have had two car loans with before (Chase) with a 1% higher APR.

Keep in mind I always finance my vehicles for 72 months, but I never take longer than 24 to pay them off. I like the piece of mind of having as low of a monthly payment as possible. Thanks!

I think you are pretty safe with a Federal Credit Union. I'd go with them for the better rate.

I always pay off early as well. I send extra each month depending on what I feel like sending.

I for one prefer credit unions, which are almost always going to provide a better borrowing cost, unless the manufacturer is running some sort of promotional lending rate. You don't have to go through the dealer. You have some time before your order arrives. If you don't have a relationship with a credit union, I would go visit some and see if they offer a better value for you, both for your auto loan, and your personal banking.

Good point. I'm sure those who are rockin the stock shiny wheels probably wish they had black if it were an option, they just don't want to spend the money and time to swap it out. I'm sure the reason there are so many black wheeled Wranglers on the lots is because they're attached to special editions that cost more money. I'm not normally a fan of white Jeeps, but the Artic Edition looked awesome because of the dark wheels.

Go with the lowest rate. With electronic payments, it's all the same convenience. Check into direct deposit too. Sometimes they will give you a break if you pay bi-weekly with direct deposit. My CU give's me .25% off for that payment option. I'm going with Bank of America as I can get 2.79 for 60 months where my CU's best is 4.1. It really all depends on your credit rating.

Thumbs up VOTS is case sensitive...

For those of you who are having trouble finding your VON on VOTS, I discovered that it is case sensitive so you need to know how your dealer entered your name. I was in a hurry and just typed my last name all in lower case and was surprised that it came up with an error because I had seen it in VOTS before (on a daily basis in fact). When I capitalized my name, it came up just fine. I can see how this could get to be a real issue for people with multiple capitals in their names (like McAvoy or something...).

So I finally got an email back from OMSC confirming that I needed to change the color from BFG to something that is actually available. I emailed back with True Blue and on the Buyers Offer they sent me back, it had True Blue listed as a $317.50 cost.

Is this standard on the dealerconnect/order spreadsheets, or is it a completely random and arbitrary cost added? Really getting frustrated with their 3-4 days between emails and basic lack of any kind of customer support. At this point I am tempted to just say fuck em, get my down payment back, and order from a dealer when I get home.

That about sums up dealing with them.

Sounds like "Additional Dealer Markup". There are currently no 2013 Wrangler exterior colors that have a surcharge from Jeep.

That's terrible. Naive question but could you possibly order from a regular dealer while you're still over there? I would think any redblooded American car salesman would be more than happy to try to get your order in for you as smoothly as he could... dont know what kinds of restrictions you have though

Yeah, obviously not going to pay it. First thing I did was hit reply and ask why the fee was there.

Just had to share the ridiculousness here. Nothing but bad things to say about OMSC, I just don't want the hassle of trying to get the same price from a dealer.

Join Tread Lightly and you will be well under their price. I too am ordering through ENCS (OMSC, same company) and am in the process of getting them to price match at nearly $2,000 under their price. They make it seem like you're getting a good deal because they take all of their rebates off of MSRP. TL gets you 1% under invoice. If I had a vehicle to drive when I got home and could wait for a local dealer to order one for me I would. Since that is not an option I will live vicariously through you and say go local!! If you don't mind me asking, where are you from?

Call or email some dealers with the specs you want. Mention the price you have and let them respond with a quote. You might be surprised if one matches or beats what you have. If you live in a military friendly area where you would pick up the jeep, definitely mention your situation.

So true, If I had a $1000 discount for every time I've heard, 2013 are not available for order yet. The order banks are not open yet, ect. ect.

So, leather is not available on the Sport and Sport S, however, pretty much every dealer has availibility to order "aftermarket" leather from the same manufacturer as Chrysler. Has anyone done this? Doesn't it seem with this option you get more choices in the look of the seat. Any comments/advice?

Question for Pat.....Late in the 2012 year, I was told that the dealer I was going through would get no more Rubicons...was this the 20% Rubicon allocation protocol going into action? He also said that I could order one and it would be built but he couldn't order one...Does an individual order supersede the allocation? (if it actually exists) This might be food for thought when dealing with a recalcitrant dealer.

The aftermarket Katzskins rock. Lots of options for perforations, stitching, leather quality (much better than OEM), and piping.

Jands, those seats look great. If you do not mind me asking, what was the total price (with installation) that you spent on those seats? Thanks.

1st post; looking to buy my 3rd Wrangler!

Greetings!

I've been a long-time lurker on this Forum, and finally decided to register so that I can start asking newbie questions!

I've owned a '97 and '01 TJ (both modified), and am seriously considering ordering a 2013 JKU, most likely a Rubicon; however, like many of you I'm frustrated with the staggered roll-out of colors (and limited information). Right now, my favorite is Billet Metallic, which brings me to my question: with a September production start date (per the first post in this very long thread), when might the earliest delivery date be? Any ideas?

Thanks for any feedback, and I hope to join the ranks of JK owners soon! Also, many thanks to Pat, Milous, and the other contributors who make this Forum such a worthwhile place to visit!

Cheers,

LarsA

I stopped dealing with them when I couldnt get an honest answer out of them, Then they just stopped responding to my emails all together. It took them over a week to respond to me requesting to cancle my order then tried to say I didnt specify why I wanted to cancel so they wouldnt be able to help me. I ended up contacting A dealer with a list of options I wanted. I still have a few months here to go and hopefully Ill have my order waiting for me but I wont go through OMCS again. It was much easier to go through a dealer, so far.

Got my Priced order confirmation letter in an email late last night(mid day for you folks in the states) and I pretty excited. especially since all my options and prices match up with what ive seen around this post. I do have one question, whats "special scheduling condition VII" HB, FFP, and EP? I guess thats like three in one question but you get it.

Though it doesn't fit the OP's question, you can't beat 0% from the dealer. That's what I did. Had the same with my last Ford.

Love that zero percent financing
