Right now, my favorite is Billet Metallic, which brings me to my question: with a September production start date (per the first post in this very long thread), when might the earliest delivery date be? Any ideas?

Thanks for any feedback, and I hope to join the ranks of JK owners soon! Also, many thanks to Pat, Milous, and the other contributors who make this Forum such a worthwhile place to visit!

Don't you have to wait 30 days? So can't she change her ID cards, etc?

I must have misread the letter. I thought the chrysler affiliate program required 30 days from start of membership to tread lightly before placing order. I assumed that meant ordering. But you're suggesting it's from the day of final purchase?

HB = Dealer Holdback

The first email took a couple weeks after order - that simply confirmed the order (orderd 6/4, rec'd 6/18). Then this one today that included the VIN.

Right there with ya.

I'd order right now if I could.

Being forced to wait on something as ridiculous as color in this day and age is nonsense and making me wonder about looking at other options for my next driver....

When the VOTS system sent out the automated email this morning that confirmed move to Production Scheduled it also provided the last 8 of VIN in the email.

Well bother. VOTS shows I'm in 'Production Scheduled', but my first (and only so far) email from ordertracking@jeep.com doesn't mention the last 8 of VIN at all. I know it's silly to worry about since they won't actually start production for a month yet at soonest.

I was thinking it would be less than two months from the day they painted it if the order had been processed and was just waiting for them to run the new color??

I'd like to thank everyone in this forum for the amazing information that you're all putting on here. I'm not a wrangler owner yet but I've been obsessing over them for a long time now and this forum is proving to be very unhealthy for me!

Regarding the Chrysler Affiliate Rewards program; Tread Lightly is a great avenue to gain eligibility. But for those of you who work for larger companies (or any company that may have a relationship with Chrysler), you may be able to get a control number from your place of employment. I work for a railroad company and was able to secure one for free through the company website since we apparently have a relationship with Chrysler. Just food for thought.

I am pretty sure this has been covered but my memory is bad and I can't find the related post.

What is the difference between the standard soft top and the MX5 Premium Black Sunrider Soft Top?

The premium soft top has springs or something to make it easier to put up on the JKU.

Better fabric. I think the spring assist is standard on all JKU soft tops in 2013.

I have my vin and VOTS also says its in the production scheduled stage...... As long as its ready by October I will be happy. Best part of doing this while deployed is I dont have a choice BUT to wait.

How much better? You should be able to get a '13 for close to the same price. The 2012 models are a year old, the '13 could be a better deal even if slightly more $ than a '12.

Now is indeed the best time to buy a 2013 at 2% under invoice (and use that as leverage to negotiate a 2012 down on price)

But the staggered paint production really does suck. As you get closer and closer to 2013, the affiliate pricing becomes less and less useful.

I just ordered a 2013 Unlimited Rubicon with black leather. On the VOTS screen it doesn't show heated seats as one of my options even though I ordered them. Is it standard with leather?
