The four door is an unlimited
You could call the two-door limited
But they are both Wranglers

So is it possible for 2013 to get shipped out end of July or would that be impossible? I ordered on 6JUN2012.

I understand that they are both Wranglers but to save time I assumed everyone else did too.

Do you know if Jeep has any kind of a program allowing us to pick up the Jeep at the factory and drive it home? My son and I were thinking it might be a nice, long, fun roadtrip together. Saving the delivery fee would pay for one-way airfare and gas. Not sure we will do it but we wanted to see if it was even possible.

Tried to preorder tonight with the Affiliate rewards program and was told by the dealer that the 2013 preorders are not approved yet? Has anyone been able to preorder with this yet?

i think that's a great idea! however, i haven't herd of such a thing outside of Z06/ZR1 Corvette's ...and that's just to see it built, which is an additional fee.

i would have loved to drive her home from toledo, and tour what i could of the historic manufacture site. born on date: 09/28/2011 ..picked up from the dealer [SW PA] 10/12/2011. quite a delay in delivery ...and Toledos but 5 or less hours away!

I ordered a 2013 Unlimited Sahara on the 16th using the Affiliate Rewards progam. Order was entered into the system on Monday. I have since received two progress emails from Jeep. Already visible on VOTS.

The dealer should have gone ahead and ordered your Jeep. I'm thinking the reason he said no is because 2013s aren't listed as an eligible vehicle yet on the AR rules. 2013s will be eligible later. The current AR rules only show 2011 and 2012s. Don't worry 2013s will show as eligible by the time you are ready to take delivery.

Actually you can see your Corvette built, no matter what level you buy and you can get Museum Delivery and pick up your Corvette at the Museum that is just down the road from the factory.

It is a fantastic deal....you can see you Z06 or ZR1 motor being built in a seperate facility. They even have a deal where you can help build the motor....

It should work. You will need a google account and to save it as your own copy in order to manipulate it, however.
Thank you!

It's a great deal too....you save enough off MSRP to pay for the trip (assuming you're not buying a stripped 3 series). Multiple ports to drop it off all over Europe so you can pick your travels. Highly recommended.

I still haven't been able to get into VOTS, and it says my name and VON are not valid. I did get the email from Jeep saying that my order was received. My order sheet shows it was placed on June 6th, but it's been all quiet since the email on the 18th. Anyone else having trouble with the VOTS site? They wouldn't have cancelled my order without telling me right?

I had placed my order on the 8th and got the same error you're seeing on VOTS until the 15th when my dealer emailed me the VIN # that got assigned. I could then go into VOTS with either the VIN or the VON and my name. Make sure they put the order in under your name, that could be causing the error in VOTS. You definitely should be able to see it by now since you placed your order 2 days before mine. I also got an update yesterday from my dealer with an estimated ship date of 7/23 but don't see any change in VOTS from what I saw last week.

Just passing along what my dealer's telling me. Not sure how they get their updates. They've been adamant since I ordered that I'd see it the end of July.

How long does it take to build a JKU from start to finish?

You'll never be able to save the delivery fee (unless your selling dealer is feeling generous) because it is an agreed upon contract with the auto manufacturers and transport unions.

I believe you can schedule a plant tour, but unlikely to time it to your build date. (requires press credentials or some major favors... ) As for driving it out of the plant anywhere other than the staging lot is also doubtful. I've seen some exceptions (most were good press related).

I have a couple coworkers that have done the BMW Plant tour and one day I'll do a Museum delivery for a Vette. Not sure how BMW fits it into the scheduling with the build volume they do, but Chevrolet doesn't make that many Corvettes these days. Major drawback with Jeep opening the Wrangler plant up for tours are production numbers... If every Corvette buyer in 2013 wanted a plant tour, you're looking at 15k-20k tours... which would cripple their scheduling - I think Jeep builds more 4 door Rubicons than that , so imagine if just 10% of 2013 Jeep owners wanted plant tours

THW,
I laughed out loud when I read your comment, best part was the "rear cargo area privacy cover" last ..

I just got another email from Jeep this morning. They gave me the last 8 digits of my VIN and said they have all my parts and my Jeep is scheduled for production. It also said it may be in this scheduled for production status up to 2 weeks before the build begins. It looks like we may be getting our Jeeps prior to the July 23rd production start date. Fingers crossed.

Assembly from frame to plant release should all be in one day. Shipping depends a lot on the logistics of filling rail cars and assembling trains.. My 2012 was built 20 July and shipped 23 July, 2012.

Is it sad that I get excited when I see that Up Hill Bill, Milous, or Pat was the last one to post something and cannot wait for the page to load?

That's what I'm worried about too! Luckily I'll be redeploying a few weeks earlier than planned, but I will be livid if I get to the dealership and they have racked up miles giving people test drives in MY Jeep

Just think of all the awesome stalling and clutch work that random people will be doing to your Jeep.
