Ordering....help!

Ok I'm at the dealer ordering a two door sport s and I want the running boards that come on a Sahara. When the dealer chooses tubular side steps I'm assuming those are not what I want. I was confused because they have a sport on the lot with sahara running boards and the window sticker says tubular. Also, has anyone switched out the stock tires on a sport to the BFG on a rubicon? They're quoting me $1,000 to do it. Sounds like a lot.

Remember, those side crash ratings are based on a single test crash with a 2008 2-door Sahara, and, apparently, another with a 2008 4-door Sahara, each without airbags.

The Structure/Roll cage rating was reduced from "Good" (the highest rating) to "Acceptable" because the drivers door came open during the crash test.

The Wrangler was rated "Good" on 5 of the 6 "Injury measures" taken, and poor in just one (driver torso injury.)

With a Rubicon and it's rock rails, or adding good rails/ rock sliders (or both) to any model, and with side airbags... you're good!

Pat or Milous, I know the 2nd order window opened today... Is Dozer still an option within this current window?

1000 for the bfg's isn't that bad considering they are $250 a piece new, but they aren't factoring in that they are keeping a perfectly good set of tires that they will turn around and sell to another customer in the service dept for a handsome profit. You are basically paying extra for convenience.

My 2012 JKU Sport 24S package with tubular side steps arrived with the same steps that are on the Sahara fyi.

According to this graphic, Sirius is standard on JK Sport S. this is new information, isn't it? Should those of us who ordered Sirius expect our prices to drop by $200?

If you're referring to the red JKU at the top, that's an Altitude Edition so it comes with black wheels. I'm pretty sure the Sport and Sport S still come with the unpainted 16" steel and 17" aluminum rims, respectively.

Looks like the blue JKU illustrating a "Sport S" is actually a base sport with steelies. Also funny that it's sporting the discontinued blue color! Whoever threw this together wasn't paying a lot of attention- makes me wonder how reliable it is.

No. Soft top is standard on all models. Hard top (M1 or M3) is always an option. (M3 not available on Sports)

I see why you thought that, though. The pamphlet seems to suggest it, but, I believe that is an error.

Milous...???

I think you're looking at it wrong. Sirius is listed under recommended options on the bottom.

EDIT: Oh, I see... but also at the top. Looks like it is only included with the 2 door, and purchased extra with the 4 door. That kind of sucks...

Reckon that is supposed to be a billet and a commando jeep on the page showing wheels? Billet sure looks light...which would be good if it's accurate.

It says "Order Recommendations" at the top, so I assumed the percentages were recommendations for orders- I.E. Jeep recommends that dealers order 50% of their Sport S models with a hard top.

I don't think this pamphlet is very reliable as a source of information about features/packages though. Another funny inconsistency: The Rubicon on the "Order Recommendations" image is clearly sahara tan but with the new wheels, which is impossible.

Wow after reading threw this thread I'm glad I found my 2012 unlimited Sahara. Bright white with saddle leather. Was going to wait for 2013. Love the white with the current silver Sahara rims. Don't like blackish rims with the white. Also love the seat stitching and design o. 2012 better than 2013. Plus I've been enjoying her! But you 2013 folks never have to use your tire gage! That's a great Feature we all make choices and hope in the end we're all happy! Good luck guys.

I suspect the side airbags are only effective with full doors and the windows rolled up.

Back to the 2013's, any details from those who know on the anniversary edition?

There is/was a PERFECT JKU near me that had nearly every item I wanted. Dozer Sport S with LSD, Infinity, auto, 3.73's, hardtop, and Uconnect....but it lacked side-airbags.

I first found it from Davenport IA, and it was moved...a few days later, I found it again in northern Chicago.(Same VIN). I emailed the dealer to see how it was moved but they never responded. A few days later, they posted pics, and the was +200 miles on it...so I figured it was driven on the highway...but I doubt break-in procedure was followed.

Too bad...
Even with the miles, that one would have worked...but I do want the air-bags.

Post 2152 is indicating it can be ordered but you won't see it for a while.

Fiat purchased a majority stake in the new Chrysler group, which purchased assets and liabilities from OldCarCo, the old Chrysler. The fiat CEO became the Chrysler CEO, and the two companies have an international alliance. That's why you see Fiats all over the place now. They instantly got access to all of chrysler's network. Same goes for Chrysler in Europe.
