2013 Wranglers?

Hen is the release date and is there going to be any major changes?
I've done some searching but I haven't been able to find much. Would it be worth waiting to get a 2013 rather than a soon to be outdated 2012?

You've been searching and couldn't find much? How about the very first thread on the top of this page? http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/201...ad-161113.html

I would suggest you read through the 2013 Wrangler information thread on this forum. The first post will give you info and the other 2000+ posts will answer any questions you might have. There are mock ups and actual pics.

I just googled "2013 wrangler" and the info thread on this site was the first result. I don't mean to be a jerk but come on, buddy- we both know you didn't search at all before posting this.

You mean those 1941-2011 baby-killing, poison spewing, flaming deathtraps? I'm shocked they are even legal to own, never mind drive. I think I overheard a pilot at the airport say they are going to start retrofitting Pentastars in 747s because any other combustion engine else is just murderously dangerous.

Lol thanks for the feedback I guess. What I meant with my question was I couldn't find any major changes to the 2013 while searching around. I just don't want to have a repeat of when I spent $50k on my 08 dodge ram and then the new style came out 6 months later and my brand new vehicle now looks not so brand new. I'm not saying old is bad haha just that if I would have done some research before buying my previous truck I would have waited for the 09 to come out

You're fine. 2011 was mostly interior and 2012 drivetrain. Next big change won't be for a while.

Bigkicker18, the very first reply contains a link to the 2013 Information thread. The very first posting on that is updated regularly by Milous. There is a section called 'What's New' on that first post that details what is known to be changed.

The thing is - while other people may feel that these aren't major changes for them, nobody else other than you can decide which of those updates are 'major changes' for you.

At least until June of 2013.

I guess an all new seating, all new premium soft top, new interior lighting, new wheels, and finally a good palette of colors to choose from would be a pretty big deal to a lot of people. I should have waited for a '13 myself but I couldn't pass up the deal I got.

BigKicker - it's so close to the 2013's I'd just get a 2013. Especially if you sign up for tread lightly now and get a control # you are guaranteed 1% below invoice with no haggling and some dealers will just let you order and give you that anyway. I don't think you'll get THAT much better of a deal on a 2012 tbh as they are selling like hot cakes and hard to find what you want. Anyway, that's just my opinion, however the 2012's aren't bad by any stretch.

One additional advantage I can think of is the 2013's might distance yourself from the ticket engines that some of the 2012's had if that's a factor down the road with resell value, but who knows.

Someone will likely correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe major changes won't occur until 2014 or 2015... something like that. So, if you're worried about that kind of thing, you may want to wait another year.

Waiting is kinda like "do I buy the iPad that is out now or the one coming every 3 weeks?" Does the wrangler model available now suit you or would you rather have the next one when ever that is? Your answer is key.

The only major change is a more reliable 3.6l that has had a year to mature and correct bugs.
