Is it the light bluish grey color for anvil the same that was used on the Unlimited Rubicon 10th anniversary edition?

Is that a southern Commiefornia trash can? People all over the forums were begging for "trash can grey" prior to anvil's release and then since then I keep hearing the 2 compared.

Here in Indiana we have dark blue trash cans, dark grey, light grey, bright blue, pepto-Bismo Pink, black and dark brown. I've thought about driving my Anvil Jeep around and taking pictures with all the trash cans just to show that its nothing like what I see.

The Anvil color DOES look different based on the lighting, and I'm sure that the differences in air quality in certain geographic areas has an impact...but I've never seen a greenish tint to the color. Blue, various shades of grey, yes...no green. Never the brighter blue of the promo pictures from Jeep either, it's always a muted grey-blue

Yeah, I always see the blue tint on it. which I find really nice and it would be a fun color to play with in terms of choosing accenting colors on mods and accessories.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried about it just looking like a really boring grey color in certain light. I get generally clear sunny sky where I live, so I am guessing that would keep the bluish hues at the forefront.

When I saw anvil in Colorado, it looked like a dark blue almost. It really changes color a lot. Almost like a stormy blue sky color. It's growing on me.

Correct, the darker (shade, clouds) the more blue it looks. The lighter/sunnier it is the more gray it looks.

Not ruling it out. In a few weeks, when the new colors hit the streets, I'll be able to make my final decision.

You mean anvil? I've seen a bunch of those in person. I want to see amped on the street so I can make an educated decision.

yes i was talking about the 2014 anvil models. as for Amp'd you as well as other possible Amp'd buyers are saying the same thing. its going to be a hit or miss with that color. either you order within the next few days to start the long wait or you just wait til a few more months when they start popping up at dealerships.... so your options are blindly order it or wait another 3 to 4 months to see how it looks in person. tough decision i know lol

You are right on the money because that's exactly where the inspiration for the color came from.

From a Motor Trend/Truck Trend article

"Unique paint colors include Billet Silver, a bright White, and Anvil, which was actually based on the color of a trash can in the Jeep design shop. While its genesis may sound unsophisticated, Anvil became a quick favorite of drivers on the trip because it looks great in every light and keeps looking good even when the truck gets dirty.

I was thinking, and this may be completely incorrect, but wold it be possible to go to a paint shop and see if they can spray a swatch of Amp'd by looking up the color code?

That's a good idea if the paint shop has the codes, but they may not have them yet.

Sweet, I called my local Dodge dealer and asked to speak with the body shop. They are going to see if they have the paint to spray a swatch of PYC (Amp'd) for me. Fingers crossed!
