My opinion is they look good (better than orange) on some colors. Other colors... not. They're not actually clear. They have a light smoked look to them that doesn't pop out at you like the orange does on some colors (like white). It's simply a matter of taste.... to each their own.
How is the quality on the quadratec ones? Do they fog up or leak?

I've only had mine since January but so far so good, no leaks, no fogging or discoloring...

Its probably been said already, but I think the clear + amber is ugly. It looks like someone did a little aftermarket work but decided not to go all the way. Not a fan. If some laws prohibit clear corners then Jeep should've just dropped the whole idea of clear turn signals.

Clear + clear = very nice

I've had my quadratec clears installed since beginning of spring and no problems here. Easy and fast to install and short money too. I think they look much better over amber. They match well with the clear headlights

Thought I would chime in here. I bought clears from quadratec. After a year the fender lights were ruined by the sun. They turned from a nice clear to a chalky white lens and looked horrible. And by the way, my Jeep is garaged a lot too, so it is not like it was out in the blazing heat every day. The front turn signals are still good, but I took out the fender lights and replaced them with the Recon LED fender lights. These look much better and seem to be of better quality. (Although cost a lot more). I plan to replace the front turn signal lights as well once I replace the headlights. Hopefully the lenses hold up over time. Just wanted to let you all know.

Fishmd, did your Recon LED fender lights cause at issues, or did you install resistors of some kind?

No issues at all. They do require you to "hard-wire" into the wires rather than using a simple connector though, but easy to do. Recon has a video install on YouTube for it.

Here are pictures of the Quadratec light after I took it out. You can see the difference around the very edge of the light where the plastic wasn't exposed and is still nice and clear.

And here is a couple shoots of the Recon light installed.

Here's my '13 Billet with clear turn signals. Got them from Quadratec.

I still can't figure out the pricing. $19.99 'each' with bulbs or $44.99 for the pair.... I got them 'each' and they fit great...like OEM.

I'm guessing you could wire those up just like the standard ones so they blink with the turn signals too then...looks good fishmd....will put those on my list

You do realize that the old CJ's had clear turn signals? Also, I noticed in your sig that you've got heated seats and auto climate air conditioning...Real rugged, bro.

Just because the outside looks rugged does not mean the inside has to be as well.

I think what mills what was referring to was adding aftermarket modifications for appearance purposes. Some people want function over form, cant blame the guy. But I like the clear turn and side lights. I think it cleans it up on certain colors. I have anvil, and the amber looks pretty good. I would rather fork over the money on other mods at the time being

The "It's a Jeep, not a Honda Civic" made me laugh. Then to see all the fancy cool guy stuff in his sig really made me laugh after the Civic comment. It is what it is.

My Quadratec lens on the grill are starting to haze slightly but it's more noticeable they are yellowing since I'm billet. I will probably let it go for the winter and either buff them in spring and see how they look or replace them with OEM 2014 ones.

+1

Plus, if you have yearly safety inspections where you live, you could get a hassle by them if you change them out to clear yourself.

I also changed my amber ones to recon, I went smoked though because my colour is anvil and I like how the darker lens looks and the smoked on the fender blends nicely into the black. They light up amber so that should keep them legal in most areas.
The video shows them being hard wired but you can use the OEM connector if you don't like the idea of splicing into your harness.

Well I just purchased OEM clear lenses on eBay. Once I get them, I'll install and let you know how it goes.

Here is a pic from the description with part numbers. Hope they fit without issue. Will update

Couldn't let it go, they were looking bad enough I ordered some from the dealer. Negotiated with parts, got them for $30 on the set.

I have two photos with side by side comparison here - http://s1318.photobucket.com/user/Lu...20lights%20mod

I did notice right away the quality seems better with the Mopar lights. The edge of the lens is nicer, the seal better, glue better. I didn't think they would come with bulbs but they did - and the bulbs were nicer too. Same fit as previous years, direct swap.

Thanks for the comparison pics and honest opinion! I think you just sold me on factory lights.

For the folks running the quadratec kits did you have trouble with the bulbs for the side lights? I have a 2013 jku and the factory bulbs have a different base than the ones that come with the kit. I'm now on my 3rd set and they all look as if they are mirrored. You can see in the attached picture what I'm talking about. Thanks in advance for your help.
