Affiliate program and a little bit of negotiating. On the invoice, look for PP - the price on that line will be 1% under invoice + $75. Or you can calculating it using the info Pat has provided. If you are in AP, you can get that price without haggling. Chrysler pays the dealer an additional 2% holdback (my dealer said that is capped at $600 ... can anyone confirm or deny that?), so that gives them some more room to cut you a good deal.

The handful of dealers that I talked/emailed all quoted me the AP price. Here they all add a $499 handling fee, which meant that even with AP pricing I'd be paying 0.5% above invoice. One said they could cut a couple hundred bucks but that's it - "these are in really high demand" as I looked at a list of 80 in their inventory at jeep.com. I picked the dealer that I went to for test drives since I felt I owed it to them to get the first shot, offered them 3% below invoice (inclusive of their handling fee) and ended up very quickly about 2% below invoice. I'm happy with that.

The best advice I saw somewhere on this forum was "shoot for 4% under invoice and settle for 2%". I would have paid a lot more without that in the back of my mind. Good luck!

So, I thought I'd try my luck again today and call IAMJEEP again.

Me: I'm calling to see if I can get any updates on the 2014 Wrangler I ordered.
CS: What kind of update? Do you have a service order?
Me: No, I ordered a 2014 Wrangler.
CS: Do you need an owners manual?
Me: No.....I ordered a Jeep Wrangler last month. I wanted to know if I can get an estimate on when I can expect it to arrive? (At this point I'm beginning to think this was a mistake)
CS: Oh, Ok. Is that a 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive? (Confirmed: This was a mistake)
Me: Its a 4 wheel drive.
Me: I have a VIN number (trying to be helpful)

I provide the VIN, and she puts me on hold for 15 min. When she comes back, she tells me its scheduled for production...then suggests that I just watch my emails for updates.

Of well......it'll get here when it gets here, I guess.

Ordered my 2014 JKUR today and got the automatic transmission and when we added the 4.10 gears it showed up as a $0 option. I double checked the build sheet and the 4.10 gears were showing up under the options and the price listed was $0. Is this new for 2014? All the other options like the dual top and connectivity group were showing up with their respective prices. Has anyone else ordered a 2014 automatic rubicon and gotten the 4.10 gears as a free upgrade?

I've come to the conclusion that I will just wait till the dealer calls me and says my Jeep is in. I accidentally erased my VIN email confirmation. After being on the phone all day with the dealer and Jeep I still dont have a VIN confirmation #. How hard is it? I got three confirmation emails from Jeep so I know the order went through. O-well...keep waiting.

Ordered mine on 6/19, VIN 6/20, IAMJEEP estimating shipping on 7/26.

Sounding much better than the standard "6-8 week" canned response. We'll see how accurate that ends up being, and how long it'll take to arrive in OR...

Ship Date

Just spoke to IAMJEEP. JKUR ordered 6-08 is in build stage and is supposed to ship 7-25 but could take until Aug. to get to Nashville. Better news than I expected. WOOHOO

Save yourself the stress and just check with you dealer every couple weeks.

I'm not going to call any more. Like I said, it'll get here when it gets here...Calling isn't going to speed the process. The emails should keep me informed if I hit a significant milestone.

It does make me curious about the information available to the folks who work at IAMJEEP. I've called twice, and both times I came away with the same information that I had before.....many others on this thread have said the same thing....but just as many people call and get shipping and delivery estimates.

That tells me one of two things are happening

1) We are rolling the dice every time we call and we might talk to someone who is very knowledgeable about the process, and has up to date info at their fingertips, or

2) The people who are giving shipping and delivery dates are simply making educated guesses, or even just pulling numbers out of thin air.

I work in an inbound call center (no, I'm not a telemarketer) and I can tell you that plenty of people will just make up a date when a customer calls in asking about something. At least a couple times a day I'll get a call from someone complaining about an issue that they think was supposed to have been fixed. They say, "Well, the last guy I talked to told me that the computer said that it was supposed to have been done 3 days ago" when I know that the computer does not and has not said any such thing. Another employee just gave them a date to satisfy them and let it go at that.

Its not a leap for someone to say that if the manufacturing is coming online on the 22nd, that Jeeps will start shipping on the 28th or 29th, particularly if they are somewhat familiar with how the process works.

This makes sense. I just don't see how some people who work there can give you an estimated date and some don't know squat. I could be wrong, but it looks like the computer would say the same thing when they put in the VIN.

Sold my Saab yesterday, now the wait is gonna be even harder! Driving a 2001 Cherokee with no a/c in this heat is horrible! It's gonna be a long couple of weeks.

I ordered June 26th and have had a couple of e-mails, never looked at them. Yesterday the dealer called to give me an update, ship date is 8/3 and I should expect it to take 2 weeks to get to him.

I sent an email to Jeep last week requesting a build date and/or ship date - the only useful info they gave me was my full VIN (only had the last 8 until then). I'm sure the dealer could have told me my full VIN as well.

I did find out however that my JK will be built on Tuesday the 23rd, but that was through a source at Chrysler as I work for a tier 1 supplier.

My dealer is about an hour north of Toledo assembly - I hope it makes its way up there quickly!

What are the last 4 digits of your VIN? Mine is 4459, just wondering when/where my build is relative to yours.

There were several posts a while back that they do not build in order acording to the VIN. They build in groups of simular model characteristics. Also firm customer orders get a higher priority for build than dealer stock orders. My last four digits are 8287 and they gave me a ship date of 7/22. My dealer had previously told me that was the build date.

The last 4 of my VIN are 4208. But from what I've heard they may or may not build them in sequence.

Copperhead is now available to order? Might want to post that in the 2014 Information thread, lots of people waiting for that news.
