A place where everyone with a 2014 order can now enjoy waiting....and complaing about VOTS....and waiting some more....and pre-ordering mods....and waiting a bit longer altogeteher. :D

Congrats on the new Jeeps! :thumb:

Edit:
Here is a great write-up by Arrow X for those that are new.
Welcome! Below is an overview of the order process that many of us have experienced over the last 3-4 months. I hope this helps to set your expectations and helps maintain your sanity over the next 4-13 weeks. Also, I have provided all the resources you will need to check your status daily and get caught up with the terminology used in this thread. So pull up a seat and enjoy the ride. :happyyes:

When you place your order, your salesman should be able to provide you with your Vehicle Order Number (VON). If you don't walk out the door with it then your salesman can provide it the next day. Now, I have never heard this number helping anyone find out any information so it is really nothing more than an order confirmation. If you provided your salesman with an email address then you will get a welcome email from Jeep. If you did not then you will be subjected to calling IAMJEEP (877-426-5337) or your salesman obtain your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), what to do with that later. If you didn't provide your salesman an email address then some or all of the following may not apply to you. If you did provide your email address, you won't get an email until the following conditions have been met...

1) Your order has been submitted by the dealer
2) Your configuration has been verified by Jeep
3) The Jeep warehouse has confirmed all parts are in stock and if not begin to source the parts that are not
4) Your dealer has available allocation

Allocation is like a quota or limit, a dealer can only order so many vehicles per month, this includes both sold orders and dealer inventory. From what I have seen over the last 3-4 months, the allocation period begins on Monday of the second full week of the month and ends on the Saturday of the last full week of the month. However, if a dealer fills there allocation on the first day of ordering then their allocation is over. This is the reason some people wait for a couple weeks before getting their email. When you place your order you should verify the dealer has available allocation so you know when to expect your order will actually be processed. If your dealer still has allocation available you will get an email usually the next day, if not then within a few days. If they have used all of their allocation then you will be waiting for the next months allocation to open. Example: If you ordered Oct 24th 2013 and the dealer already filled their allocation your order will not be processed until Nov 11th 2013 and that is when you could expect your email.

Now that you have recieved your email, now what? In the welcome email it will provide the last 8 of your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and a link to the Vehicle

Order Tracking Systems (VOTS). There you can put your LAST NAME (in caps) and the last 8 of your VIN to get into the system. When you log in you will get a welcome video and your first status of "Production Scheduled". Don't let this fool you, most likely nothing has been scheduled yet, they may still be gathering parts. Your official status is "D", this will make sense later. VOTS is very generalized so you will prefer jeepstatus.com (updates once a day Mon-Fri at ~8:30 AM EST) which provides specific status codes or to call IAMJEEP (877-426-5337) where they can sometimes fill in the blanks. The codes are as follows but I have removed some status' that no one has seen, at least in the last 3-4 months. They were just status' that happen before you can even log in or special shipping status'.

ORDER STATUS CODES
D - firm schedule - dealer has allocation and all parts available
D - 1 gateline schedule - scheduled to be built
E - frame
F - paint
G - trim
I - built not ok'd
J - built ok'd
JB - shipped to body vendor
JE - emission check
JS - shipped to storage
KZ - released by plant , invoiced
KZL - released - not shipped
KZM - first rail departure
KZN - first rail arrival
KZT - second rail departure
KZU - second rail arrival
KZX - delivered to dealer
ZA - canceled

If you are prompt and log into jeepstatus.com the very first day you received your email then your first status will be "D". Even though "D" status says "dealer has allocation and all parts available" it really means your order has been processed and they are still sourcing the parts. It can take anywhere from 1-30 days to move to "D-1". "D-1" says "scheduled to be built" which is true but here you are at the mercy of the factory batching process which attempts to send through batches of like builds. Color does not seem to be a limiting factor, rather infrequently ordered options do. Also once you hit "D-1" you can have your dealer pull a VINVISION report which will give you a basic shipping schedule. This is an estimate only but will give you some idea and help set your expectation. Generally, you will spend 15-30 days in "D-1" and then the actual build will happen in 1-2 days. This is status' "E-J" The only thing that will slow you down is if you hit "I" and get selected for 100% inspection then you could get put in "JB, JE and JS". This process can take up to 30 additional days depending on what problems they find and how many other Jeeps are ahead of yours. This is also what can throw off your initial VINVISION report so keep getting updated reports from your salesman. If you can avoid 100% inspection consider yourself lucky unless you don't mind waiting for the extra assurance that you Jeep will be perfect when it gets to you.

When you hit KZ it will take 12 hours to 3 days before you can actually view your window sticker online. You can use your full VIN at the following link to get it.

Use your VIN number to get Jeep Window Sticker

Finally, once you hit "KZM" it can take up to 2 weeks before your jeep hits the lot.

This is a generalized statement of time frames and will vary for each order but this is what we have experienced here over the last 3-4 months. The fastest I have seen from order to lot is 30 days (2 people) and the longest 13 weeks (3 people). Hope this helps set your expectations and I recommend that you save this info somewhere to make it easy to access without searching through the thread later. So kick back and relax it will be a while. :beerdrinking:
VOTS Backdoor Hack: you MUST take out any spaces that appear in this URL when you paste it in your browser. When I try to paste this as a URL in BBCode, Chrysler rejects it. :(

https://www.jeep.com/vots/vehicle_status.html?firstName=&lastName=<YOURNAME>&vin_last8=<YOURVIN>&orderno=<YOURORDERNO>&fromLog in=true&lastdate=true

When using this link, you need to replace
<YOURNAME> with your last name obviously
and one of the following two (either one will do, just delete the <...> of the one you don't use... or enter both if you like... doesn't matter).
<YOURORDERNO> with your order number
<YOURVIN> with your VIN number.
Note: If you only have an order number, using the hack will reveal your VIN number if it has been assigned.

Using Internet Explorer 10...

1. F12 (a new window will appear)
2. Click on Network tab
3. Click Start Capturing
4. Go back to VOTS web page and hit F5 to refresh
5. Go back to the data page and double click on the line (near the bottom) that has /vots/VOTSServlet...
6. Click on the Response Body tab to view the details

Here is a link to a write up Elmacho did for Google Chrome: http://tinyurl.com/q5zv2t3

Same hack for Macintosh:

"Click on Safari in the menu bar, then Preferences. Under the Advanced tab make sure "Show Develop menu in menu bar" is checked.

Log into VOTS, then click on Develop from the menu bar. Click on Show Web Inspector. A box will open on the bottom half of the page. In the left hand box, click on the Scripts arrow, then scroll down and choose VOTSServlet. The right hand box should have all your information."

Google order spreadsheet:

If you want to sort or do any kind of manipulation to the data in the spreadsheet, please download a copy for yourself. Please do not sort the original spreadsheet. Sometimes, when not done correctly (unintentionally, I'm sure) it gets out of whack and it's hard to fix without loosing recently added new data.

New 2014 Rubicon

Good Afternoon,
I'm planning on ordering a new unlimited rubicon 2014 asap. We ordered a 2013 that the dealer was going to get by swapping with another dealer but after we got home, found it online and realized it didn't have everything they said it did, they tried to find another one and talk us out of our must haves. I told them to forget trying to find a 2013 and turn it into what I want, I'll just wait and order a 2014 to get what I want. Well "lucky" for us, the dealer was able to start taking orders the very next day. Said it was his day off but was coming in in the morning and would call me first thing. Well, it's 2 days later still no call but...on the plus side, i'm getting a ton of information on this forum and realized that they were charging me too much for the 2013. Here is what i'm looking for but without being able to see MSRP or know invoice prices not sure if i'm getting a fair deal.

2014 Wrangler Unlimited rubicon with

4.1 Rear Axle Ration, Deep Tint Sunscreen windows, Uconnect 730N, leather seats (includes heated seats) Connectivity group.

I don't have a trade in and I don't need hard top as i'll be getting an aftermarket one later with the angled back. Don't need remote starter or towing package - going to get new bumpers later too.

How do I figure out what a fair price would be? I hear that there is never a sale on jeeps and the dealers usually don't lower their price from MSRP as they resale on them is so good. Any help how to figure this out so I don't get overcharged? I know they have to make money so I don't mind paying a little more but I don't want to get ripped off.

I also plan on buying a 4" lift, new rims and tires from the dealer after we get the jeep itself settled.

I currenlty have a Prius. (don't make fun :) ) I love it, but i'm ready for something FUN! -

Weclome to WF :wavey:

Read this thread...
http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/2014-wrangler-information-thread-246873.html

The first post has a lot of the important numbers.

The dealers lied to you about MSRP. Don't pay more than invoice...at worst.

Great combo! Mind sharing the MSRP and price you paid OTD?
