2014 JKS Order of Upgrades

Hi All,

I'm trying to figure out the best plan of attack for mods/upgrades to my 2014 sport. 6sp and 3.73 gears.

I'm going to have ~$1500 to put into it right off the bat, and it will be my daily driver. I intentionally ordered the 23B package because I'm hoping to grab some rubicon takeoff wheels, but still flexible on that. Also looking to source some decent rock rails that don't stick out much.

I've got an aftermarket stereo in my current car, and will be retaining part of it when I trade it in. I'll be putting it into the Jeep on day 1.

Audio:
Alpine CDE-W235BT or Alpine CDE-HD149BT (trading in CDA-117 with current vehicle so leaning toward HD149, but I do like the double din aspect of the other)
PAC RP4-CH11 Harness
Polk DB651s - Thinking both soundbar and dash, but open to suggestions (and will be using wire harnesses with whatever speakers I get)
Alpine MRP-M500 300w amp - Have this with current system
Alpine Type R 4Ohm 10" subwoofer and box - Have this with current system

I have a KTP-445 power pack, but I don't know if it is compatible with either of those alpine head units or if I'll be selling it.

As far as wheels - Currently I can get a set of 5 2014 rubicon takeoffs with tires for $1200. I'm going to see if I can knock that down a bit, but does that sound fair? I don't want to do a lift (yet) because I don't want a void warranty on day 1, but since it's a daily driver the 32" BFGs could give me a good mix of on and off road driveability.

I also think that later on if I go bigger with wheels I shouldn't have too much trouble selling them.

Thoughts? Everything I've looked at has me spending ~$2k on new rims/tires which is why I'd be happy to take the rubi wheels.

If you look hard, you can find take-offs for cheaper.

Now, if they are brand new....with the TPMS stems...and the Rubi shocks and 4 door/hard top springs....you might want to consider it.

At $1200, you are starting to approach aftermarket wheels prices that come mounted an balanced....so you could have 33"'s.

Thanks. I have 999 things I want to do to the Jeep, but I need to keep a roof over my head too! I think somewhere down the line I'm interested in either an AEV or OME 2.5" lift, but I'd want to time that around the AEV bumper install too.

The Rubi takeoffs would be brand new, under 50 miles on them and full TPMS etc. Literally just taken off and given to me. Think $1k would be fair for them? Also - no matter what I do I'm putting wheel locks on ASAP. A friend had all 5 rims stolen overnight haha (sucks for her!)

I'm starting to rethink the wheel/tire decision. I really want to avoid doing any type of lift until I've got at least 5-10k on the jeep, just in case there are any gremlins from the plant hiding.

My dream rims would be the AEV Argent Pintlers, with some KM2 or Duratrac rubber (33 or 35). I think I'm leaning toward the 33 because it is a daily driver, but would I be able to fit them? Half the comments say yeah it's fine, some say it rubs when disconnected, and others say it rubs frequently so no.

I do like the new rubicon wheels, but am I going to be reasonably happy with them when I get off the pavement?

$1125 rims then tires is a tough one to swallow, and I don't want to do a budget boost if I'm going to do a spring one later on. For the price of the AEV rims I could get the rubicons with tires...

Be careful on the soundbar speakers... it's real shallow in there. I put polk dxi651s in there a couple weeks ago, and removed them and replaced with kickers this weekend. The polks had tweeters that stuck out, and with the cover back over them, and little bit off bass rattled the crap out of it.... even with the bass at +1, you couldn't turn the radio up. Just make sure whatever speaker you get is pretty flat. As far as tires and lift voiding the warranty, just call the dealership or read through the mopar packet... I'm stuck on the tire and wheel game too right now....

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try the polyfill idea to fill in the empty space and try to kill off any rattles up there, but if mine rattle I'll probably do something similar. Thank Amazon and their return policy.

I think based on price alone I may go with the rubicon wheels. It won't look too ridiculous if I add a lift before I get bigger ones, and they're cheap(er). Also a HUGE upgrade from the steelies that I'm getting.

I really just need the jeep to get here so I stop window shopping and start buying.

I've learned one thing so far: you NEVER stop window shopping.... there will always be something more to do and add on or customize.

Haha I'm going to end up living out of my car... Maybe I should have gone for an unlimited so I'll have a living room.

Well, with the sound system, all you need is a tv for a pretty nice entertainment center already!

Anyone know if installing springs and shocks from a JKUR would cause me any warranty issues beyond the specific parts I replace? I may be able to get a new set for free, and from what I've read I can expect approx 1" of lift and improved ride.

Would it be overkill to take them from an unlimited for my 2dr, or worth the effort to put them in? I've seen a few threads each way, but overall seems like a positive improvement.

Note that I have the hardtop but not max tow, so I'd be after some 18/18/59 rubi takeoffs.
