2014 JKUR Blown Transfer Case

Was having a problem getting into 4 low and staying there. So took it to my Dealer.

The syncro is busted and the gears are chipped.

They said they were looking at repairing it and sent info to Jeep as it has 75000 miles on it.

They called me back and the manager there told them to replace the transfer case with a new one and he would deal with Jeep.

There is a national back order on these, but the manager said he called and is getting one of the 2 coming off the line for me.

No date yet, but still driving it as they said couldn't hurt it anymore than it is and will replace it as soon as it comes in.

All under the Power Train Warranty.

Life doesn't get much better than that, except I have to wait......

Yes it can. The NP 208 Transfer Case (2.61:1 in low range) in my 1987 Chevy Pickup is 30 years old and still going strong. Never had an issue it it or anything else in the truck. Only thing that was ever done to the transfer case was fluid change.

Hope the one in my JK holds up because this worries me. What was the auto industry doing right back in the old days that they don't do now?

1987? Very, very little.

The old days? Making cars look distinctly different from one another. That's about it.

Great Story and Good News - Pleased for you

Always good when a manufacturer stands behind the product.

Congrats on your good fortune! Thanks for sharing the story.

Who's the Dealership and manager's name so they get credit for this good deed?
