2014 JKUR trip to Colorado - LOVE this Jeep!

We received delivery of my wife's Flame Red 2014 JKUR on her birthday (9/26) and last weekend made a little road trip to Northern Colorado from Omaha.

On the way out, ran into snow just outside of Sidney, NE and it got worse all the way up the mountain from Ft Collins to Rustic. Wasn't wild about the headlights while driving but the 4H was great. Did notice that the wet snow accumulated a lot on the front end..typical for a front like the Jeep has but I did have to stop and remove snow. The outside temp display went all the way up to 70 degrees. I didn't notice the temp gauge going up but the outside temp did.

There was 4 - 5 inches of snow going up the mountain...no problems whatsoever but I was going 25 - 30 all the way due to the snow reflecting off the headlights.

The next day I got it dirty going on unimproved roads...and even went on a 4x4 trail without ANY problems...but these were pretty tame roads.

I did try a 4x4 road with 8 - 10 inches of snow...only problem was the snow was deeper than the Jeep's plastic skid plate and it wanted to wander left or right...I was in some other vehicle's tracks so I wasn't too worried but getting out of the tracks might have been interesting. I had full faith in the Jeep getting through but I don't have a winch yet and we were all by ourselves so I was very cautious.

I did pull a guy out of the ditch..he was in a Volvo suv and just couldn't get any traction. Hooked up the tow strap to the rear hook and then to his hitch...no problem pulling him out.

On the way down the mountain Sunday am, there was some sort of Rally for 4x4's...too bad I had an 8 hr drive or I would have stopped and joined them!

Can't wait for the new off road Mopar Bumper and Warn winch I'm going to add over the winter...I LOVE THIS JEEP!

I have pics and will post once I figure out how

Great pics, we've got a flame red Unlimited on order, and we're moving to the mountains of Idaho at the end of November, this thread just proves how smart we are to (a) order flame red; and (b) move to the mountains!

The wait for the factory build was tough for me and then a business trip when it arrived...but getting it delivered on my wife's B-day made it worth it!

Mountains and Jeeps go together...Ordered my Bumper and next is the winch...already have all the trail maps for the part of Colorado we visit so now it is wait for Spring to make another trip.

I would love to move to the mountains...I work remotely and only need a phone and internet...one day I hope.

Nice..snow...I love it. Pheasant season starts tomorrow here in NE...love to go hunting in the snow and now with the Jeep, it will be a Blast! I figure if its going to be cold, might as well have snow! Of course, this weekend is supposed to be mild and sunny.
