2014 seat hole?

Hi,
Does anyone know what this threaded hole is for?
it's the driver seat on a 2014 2-door sport-S model. I can't seem to find anything online. If anyone would know it would be you guys.
thanks!
duk

It's the seat belt mount for the 4 door. We share the same seat. You can't use it because it would block the entrance to the rear seats.

Ahh ic, thanks for the clarification! and I thought Chrysler forgot to install something on my seat.

Would you happen to have a picture of a 4-door seat belt mount?

interesting idea. but the problem with it is that it was only on the driver side. which then it would mean chrysler only cared for pregnant drivers, but not pregnant passengers.

Funny, but I don't recall seeing this on my '13 MY. I wonder if Jeep commonized their front seats for the 2 & 4 door at the MY changeover? I will have to look at mine tonight.

The passenger side wouldn't share the same seat with the 4-door because it has a tilt-slide function for the rear passengers.

I have one on my '12. I just thought there should have been a cover of some sort on it that maybe fell off/out while naked.

so it seems that the piece is for the seat belt on the 4-door models.

but it is strange that for the 2 doors, some have it and some don't.
maybe those that has that protruding metal piece got a 4-door seat?

Is that a spare gas cap in the photo? Do people steal the caps and would the Jeep run without it for some epa reason?

You have a 4dr seat frame in your 2dr. Looks like an assembly line error. I have both a 4dr and a 2dr and the 2dr doesn't have that mounting boss and hole.

I would! Just have them look at another on the lot with the correct frame.

awesome.

now im wondering if this affects the "easy" entry in the driver side?

i can only rotate the seatback towards the steering wheel. I understand the driver and passenger seats have different setups, but i wonder if the 4-door seats affect the rear entrance.

would you mind showing me a picture of your 2-door seat normal and then reclined forward position for rear entry? i would like to see if there is a difference, and if its worth replacing.

thanks!

Well..there "might" be a benefit to to this...

Is there a crossbar under the seat of the 2 doors with the wrong frame rails? (Don't know if the issue is the seat or frame rails) If there isn't, maybe you can actually add the Tuffy/Bestop underseat lock boxes?

When Jeep gives you lemons....you know the rest....

I checked the frame, and there is a crossbar. i dont think a lock box will fit under there.
I will have to think what i can use that extra part for
