"X" is also short/symbolic for "cross", as in "Rubicon Cross" or "Cross the Rubicon".

It is common symbolism in many flags and coat of arms; originates from St. Andrew's cross.

Rubicon X.
Rubicon Cross.

To me, that means they have too many 10a's out there and are not wanting to have two special Rubi's on a lot, but that is just a guess.
My dealer just told me yesterday (from his Jeep contact) these are supposed to be available to order in September, but not before then. I am holding out to order one as well.

It was mentioned earlier that there were early builds for dealer allocation.

B is a base 2dr and a C is a base Unlimited. Sport S versions of both correctly have the alum 17" rims.

Is it me or is that front bumper a bit different from the 10th Anniversary Edition?

Dazed and Confused

Sucker Punch are you speculating the only way we're going to get a Granite colored Wrangler is to order a Rubicon X, which is basically a Rubicon 10a without the 10th anniversary badge? My apologies, i haven't been reading all the posts regarding Rubicons.

No worries... At least I hope not. I was only being halfway serious with absolutely no credible evidence supporting the question. Other than the coincidence that the x and granite were both supposed to be available to order today but both have been delayed for some unknown reason.

Hopefully nothing to worry about. Except the indefinite wait for granite...

Agreed. But I highly recommend it for anyone that happens to be in Munich!

Why do all the dealerships I go to try and tell me that AC is an extra on the S package?

I just took delivery and promised I would report back: I got 130N with connectivity and I certainly do have a remote USB port (as expected). Also, my engine cover doesn't say VVT--I think there was some banter on that. Any other questions? Anyone want specific pics?

I gotta say I'm not impressed with how the 130N behaves with an iPhone 5 plugged into the remote USB. If you regularly use apps like 8tracks or Pandora to stream audio, you might get stuck in a loop where the head unit doesn't know what controls are taking precedent and no audio will come though.

Also, I guess I'm supposed to have a free year of satellite radio, but all it says is "acquiring signal" for like 10 minutes...nothing.

Cool! I was thinking it was some additional package you needed to order on top of the wheels.

Now I guess I need to figure out if the wheels/suspension are worth it. Learning.

Upgraded EVIC with temps Mikebot? I ordered my JKU Sport with 130N and Connectivity and really wanted these for towing.

Thanks!

I've been to three different dealers, had them all do the same build, and walked away with three different employee prices. It shouldn't be this hard.

After reading this whole thread I am wondering when the freedom edition would be expected? I can't decide if it's worth waiting to possibly get the hydro blue.

You might be onto something. Either that - or they are making up whatever they need to say to get you to buy something already on the lot vs. ordering.
I had one tell me that there was no such thing as the 3.73 gearing (when the one he was trying to push on me actually had it on the sticker, no less!) and that the half doors had been discontinued.

I went there to order and to give a deposit - and went away, money in pocket, deciding to wait on the 2014 models, which I'll be getting elsewhere.

If you want a streamlined buying experience, call Joe Cuberos or Kevin Kerth at Jeep Chrysler Dodge of Ontario (SoCal). They are both fleet managers so they know their stuff, and they are super chill guys. Couldn't ask for more, personally...(909) 843-6769. Tell em mike sent ya!

5000 10As built for US, over 4100 have been sold thru July. The Rubicon Xs you have been seeing on dealer lots are Pre spec units.

Power Windows on Unlimited Sport

I see that there is a Power Convenience group listed under the Sport, but not under the Unlimited Sport. Do you need to get the S package if you want power windows on an Unlimited Sport?
