When you have them paint it, bolt the original hinges on the hood and have them paint the hinges along with the hood. It will turn out much nicer if they paint them all is one piece
Good to see you back Ace!

Dealerships have lot of lawyers and money to fight against having to pay for repairs on vehicles if they think it was caused by something you did.
That is true, and they will make the aftermarket shop or consumer pay for the problem themselves say running 37inch tires on a new jeep with steel wheels and your front 30 goes up in smoke...your gonna be buyin a new one for sure. Just like if I would burn up the customers BCM by hooking a starter up wrong...i would be buying it not the dealership...Magnussen moss is great protection from the monopoly the dealership would have (and the overcharging) but the consumer has to be reasonable in their decision...it's for exactly what he mentioned about wanting the consumer to buy it off of them and threatening to take away the entire warranty if they go say aftermarket. Get a 6inch lift and not replace the driveshaft and it fails...uh no warranty for all the damage caused by your install...but your ac unit or headunit etc would be still covered.

Thank god I plan on keeping my jeep fairly stock. I need something that will last another 10 years with low maintenance lol

If you can't get it to peel without tearing, get the finest pin you can find and pop the bubble near it's edge. Using a squeegee, work the bubble out by pushing toward the pin hole you made.

Amateurs....
Thanks man! I was going to PM you and just didn't wait. Second one looks much better than the first. Good thing I ended up w/ two pair due to a ebay mistake. Will try pinning the first one and pushing them out. If it doesn't work well I'm redoing the driver's side.

What a great thread! I am getting to ready to order either a Sport or Rubicon to take over DD duties from my '88 Wrangler. I have read this entire thread and I have one question: Does the 2 door Rubicon come with the Connectivity Group? I know I would need to order the Connectivity Group on a Sport. Pat's #1 post doesn't specifically list the Connectivity Group as an option for the Rubicon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And a big thanks to Pat and the other contributors for making this thread immensely informative.

Thanks,
Robert

I read a lot of good information in this thread about how getting the hitch from Quadratec is a better deal than ordering from the factory. I found what seems to be the same hitch on 4wd.com for the same price and it includes the ball, ball mount, pin and clip - but no receiver cover. Any thoughts on why this might not be the better option?

I was looking at a 2014 Rubicon Unlimited today (not X) and it had the Connectivity Group listed on the sticker at $170. It also had a 730N for $1,895. Is that $170 price going to vary depending on whether you have a 130, 430N or 730N on the Rubicon (not X)?

Did it also include the 4-pin wiring harness?

Yes - forgot to mention that. Same thing but it replaces the cover with ball/mount/pin. Here's the link:

Looks like a deal to me. If you've got a nearby store, save on shipping too

IIRC, No blue right now. Hydro is supposedly going to be Freedom Edition only.

If anyone in Michigan is looking for someone to deal with I highly recommend Larry Curcuru (Koo Koo Roo) over at Your Local Car Guys (The BEST local car buying experience you always deserved.*|*Your Local Car Guys) He's been selling new and used Chryslers now for over 20 years and who my friends and family all buy their cars from. If you want his contact info send me a message - and if you call him, tell him his roommate sent you from the Wrangler Forums

I'll be ordering my Hydro Blue Freedom Edition from him as soon as he (or Pat) lets me know they are available

This is what I'm leaning toward as well, if I can be patient enough.

Just looked at 2014 JKUR and a JKR with 430N, both stickers have CONN at $495 MSRP. 730N is $170 though. Haven't run across a '14 Rubicon with a 130 yet, though I'd expect $495 for the Connectivity Group as well.

Be patient and let it breath.

The bubbles will eventually come out on their own, but pin holes last forever. If you do have to do it again, next time use vinyl letter application fluid or a little soapy water in a spray bottle.

I saw granite crystal on a charger srt and was really taken by it, but on the 300, it looked much more brown... I think I'd have to see it on a Wrangler before I ordered it.

I was almost positive I wanted either copperhead, or granite. I went to a dealership that had other vehicles in both those colors. The granite was out right away due to the reasons you said above. And I am not sure there would be enough contrast between the paint and black fenders. And the copperhead while I do like it, I am not sure I will like it for 10 years or so I plan on keeping this vehicle.

So I ended up pulling the trigger on a Billet JKU saturday. My dealer says 4-6 weeks for delivery, but we will see.

Hi, I have been watching this tread for a while. i brelive that when you order the 730n and the connectivity group together you get a disscount on the connectivity group. This is how it shows up on the 2013 build and price also.
