I ordered a Flame Red today, which guarantees a new green for next year. Maybe even a special edition green out of the blue for this year.

You don't include the Connectivity Group $495($441) - $170($151) w/ RHR 730N
Both my dealer & edmunds.com list the Unlimited Rubi base price as $34,495($32,506). Is this the correct price? I want to make sure they are ordering the right thing.

I want to make sure my dealer gets this order right, but there are some inconsistencies from their computer that concerns me: they charged heated seats separate even though I got the leather seats; I got charged the full $495($441) for the Connectivity Group, even though I ordered the 730N which should have the discounted $170($151) C.G. price; and the dealer insisted that Jeep's ordering system did not allow him to choose the Body Color Fender Flares option.

How should I deal with this?

Ignore my 1st question. Pat's numbers are "Final" and include the $995 destination fee.

A couple of questions on a JKUR that I am about to order. I would greatly appreciate a bit of help:

1) Is the AJC Premium Premium Sound and Leather Group an option or included if I have already chosen Leather Trimmed Seats, Connectivity and Uconnect 430?

2) Invoice price for a Mopar Dual Intake Power Dome Hood?

3) How do I order black door hinges on a non-black JK?

Ready to send a build sheet request to the dealer, but still have a couple of blanks to fill in.

Thanks for any help. I have read this whole thread 3 times now, and still have not found the answers.

You could get one in Commando and have it wrapped in Matte military green vinyl. 3M makes the stuff.

Deposit on factory order

For those members who've put in an order at a dealer how much was the deposit you had to put down? I'm headed out to a dealer in a bit to hopefully order a 2 door Sport in Anvil, manual, 3.73 and anti spin diff, tow package, and either the 23S or the new 32"tire & wheel package. I'm just trying to get a good idea of the deposit amount amount before I go, if I can. I've looked around the posts but have not seen that info. Any help would be greatly appreciated to a hopeful new Jeep owner (my first!). Thanks.

My dealer had me put down $500 and they haven't cashed the check. They said that they wait until they get the VIN # and it actually goes into production.

Don't get your hopes on on the Wheel/Tire package - it sold out within 5 days of it being offered...

Thanks BostonStrong. It gives me at least a ballpark figure to expect. The Internet sales manager I'ge emailed with mentioned a refundable deposit.

That news is disheartening. Maybe they'll offer it again? Thanks for the info Argent.

Well I'm off to Fredricksburg in about 15 mins to see about ordering my first ever Jeep!

They won't offer it again. It was the leftover Moab wheels and they ran out after 5 days. There's always a possibility some new wheel package may open, but I wouldn't wait to find out!

I ordered a jkur and didn't have to put a deposit down. I then backed out of the deal 2 days later when I found out ab the x pkg. Dealership didnt mind at all. I guess they want the jeep I ordered. They want me to come back in when the x pkg opens to reorder.

I put in a deposit of $300. They asked for $500. Also said I could get it refunded when I buy or roll it into my down payment.

Ugh, major dilemma. Went to a dealership just to see if they honor the affiliate reward pricing. They have a white JKR w a black hardtop for 30458. Didn't think I'd like the white much but seeing it in person it looks really sharp. Now the debate is to jump on that deal or wait to see what granite crystal and/or copperhead looks like. Ugh!!

$500 on a credit card. CC is possibly handy in case the deal sours and you want to ask your CC company to invalidate the payment, though I have no data on how successful that might be.

I'd check first. Some dealers won't accept a CC. All 3 I talked to wanted a check.

i also was told by at least one im pretty sure it was fields lol they said NO deposit required. that is if you don't order some outlandish packed wrangler that would be a tough sell. other dealerships have told me from $500 to $1500 but that goes on to the principle of the vehicle your ordering..

the way i figure basically if you give them a down. then they got a grasp on you...

My gosh, when you put down earnest money on a house, the contract spells out exactly under what circumstances that money is returned. Surely the second-largest purchase most of us make deserves THAT. I mean the automotive biz is shady enough as it is, without folks worrying whether or not they can get their money back. No agreement between buyer/seller...?

If you simply change your mind and back out on the purchase of a house, you normally would lose your earnest money deposit. Seems like that is the way it should be on an auto also.........all other things being equal of course.

JK Sport S orderd!

Thanks everyone on the info for the deposit. I had to put $500 deposit down. Just got back from the dealer with an order to be put in first thing tomorrow (can't put them in on Sundays they said) . A 2 door Sport S (no wheel/tire package available like you guys told me) in Anvil w/ 3.73 & anti slip diff axel, tow package, and permium black soft top. They showed me one of the tops on the lot and I loved it over the standard one. Oh, and manual trans. I'm pretty excited! Alsomy sales guy Rick might be hooking me up with a set of MOAB wheels/tires they had sitting in the back shop. He took me back there to look them over and I thought they're awesome. Hopefully we can work a deal. He has to check and make sure they are not already promissed or sold to someone. So, now the wait begins. Was given a conservative estimate of 6-8 weeks. Initial quote they gave me was $28752.87 out the door. MSRP of course. Hoping to get that down a little but i don't qualify for any of the programs you guys talk about.

Woohoo! Off to the waiting room.

just thinking out loud here, but shouldn't you negotiate the final purchase price BEFORE the order goes in and a deposit made? I certainly wouldn't have given any $$ not knowing the final selling price.

for instance, my deal is done, know EXACTLY how much I'm paying for the order, and the order goes in as soon as I drop a deposit check. ($250). as soon as jeep releases granite, it's done.

You're probably right about that. I worked at a Jeep dealership back in the mid-90s. Never had to order a vehicle for anyone though. (This was before salemen had computers on their desks.) I'm sure if I told my sales mgr at the time that I had a customer who wanted to order a Jeep, he/she would've said, "Sell them something on the lot or you're fired." It was just that kinda place. The dealership's closed down now.

I'd sign up ASAP and then let your dealer know about it. Then once you get your control number, you'll be good to go and get the 1% under invoice.
