The $495 option is delivered to you with two keys That have the remote start functionality. BUT if you order the kit from Mopar (or dealer) it's cheaper -PLUS you have a total of 4 keys.

My dealer charged the same price as mopar.com ($245) and install is $198. I could do it myself by they still need to program keys so why bother. So my cost is $52 cheaper than factory and I have two extra keys for the keybox.

With the above, I am glad that it wasn't available as an option on my sport when I ordered in June.

Great info! Thanks guys.

I'm sure it's been discussed, but why is the max tow package a waste with the Rubicon?

Everything that is included in the max tow package is already included on a Rubicon EXCEPT the trailer hitch and the wiring harness. You can buy the hitch and wiring harness from multiple online sites for less than $100 and install it yourself and save the difference in price.

Pat, can you please confirm if the X pkg comes with tail lamp guards. Page 1 references that it does but pictures show that it doesn't.

Thanks again for all the info!

Good luck, hopefully you'll make the deal and be in the waiting room later on.

It could be a less stressful event if the Official Jeep web site was updated with the current prices, or (I know it's a major effort to do so) the first post of this thread was modified (after requesting the moderators to open the post up).

All, please take a look at my build sheet. Am I missing anything or miscalculated anything?
Jeep BuildBuild Invoice MSRP
Sahara Base 27462 28990
Flame Red
Dark Saddle/Black highlights
24G 1135 1275
3.73 Rear 263 295
AC Auto Temp Control(HAB) 174 195
Anti spin rear axle 263 295
Body color 3 piece hard top(MX1) 890 1000
Dual Top Group(AEM) 1945 2185
Connectivity Group(AAJ) 441 495
Heated Front Seats 223 250
Dark Saddle Leather Trimmed Seats(AJC) 979 1100
Supplemental Side Airbags 441 495
Mopar Chrome(AEE) 886 995
Trailer Tow Group(AHT) 263 295
Uconnect 430N(RHB) 975 1095
Total 36340 38960

I am torn right now between having this one built or going to a dealer the next state over that has a 2013 almost exactly like this, just minus the Dual Top and 3:73 rear end for 33700(2013 Invoice).

If the 2013 has 3.21, that would be a deal breaker for me. I would order this one.

IIRC some of your pricing is off on ordering one. 3.73 went up 200 LSD went up, and I think maybe auto.Leather went up 200

Pat, is there any chance at all that if you order, say tomorrow or friday after the 9/18 'deadline', that the Jeep will be built in October? Or is everything beyond today scheduled for November?

I'm curious as well. I'm close to reaching a deal with my dealer but it's not going to get done today.

Correct.... It is a huge waste on a standard Rubi.

But, this might not apply to Rubi X's (and 10A's)...only because the rear bumper is different. We are not quite sure about adding one of the cheaper hitches to the 10A/X.

My questions as well, so I added the max tow on our Rubicon X...simply to avoid the hassle of finding out the bumper was "special" and would result in compatibility issues.

from what I've read, the hitch fits but you have to grind down bolts. i;ve also seen people say they didn't have to grind down anything. I chose to be wasteful & just get the damn max tow package to avoid any nonsense.

Thanks for clarifying, Mark!

Sorry if I screwed anyone up not giving the full information!

Talking A couple of questions on the Rubi

I am new to this forum so bare with me please.
I am about to buy a new Rubicon and here is what I am confused about:

1. Can I get body colored fender flares and also purchase the dual top group on my Rubicon? the Jeep build and price tool won't let me select both.

2. Can I get the black appearance group in the Rubicon? It seems to only be available on the sport. I need the side-steps because I have 7 and 9 year old kids who will need to be able to get inside without a problem. Also, I like the look of the tail light protector and gas cover. Aftermarket side-steps are pretty expensive from what I've seen and I really don't want to try and do mods myself. lol. If I HAVE to, I can get my dad to do it.

3. Is the Rubicon higher than the Sahara or Sport? I was able to test a Sahara for a day to see how the family liked it. I was just wondering if there was a height difference between that and the Rubicon.

4. Is it best to order online or go to the dealer in terms of price? I've done my research on what people are paying and what my Honda Element is worth in trade-in value. Any advice on how to negotiate would be helpful. I am the more aggressive personality out of me and my hub. But, I haven't negotiated on a car before.

5. If I should walk into a dealer instead of online, can you recommend one in the Metro Detroit area?

Thanks in advance for your help. If I should be posting this somewhere else, please don't be afraid to tell me that too.

I would do yourself a favor and try to buy from Pat. You won't have to waste your time, energy and sweat. He is gonna give you the best deal there is. We also have another dealer on this board (I think his screename is noble) that is also in Michigan. I would definitely go with "one of us" so that you get exactly what you want and you get a good deal.

1. Yes, you can get painted fenders on a Rubi if you order a painted hardtop. It can be done with dual tops if you have a painted hard top. The web page is often screwy.

2. Sahara and Sport S? If all have 4 doors and the same top (hard or soft) probably not...and if so, it would be in the 1/2 range. It would really depend on the spring rate, and that can be almost random. It would sit higher than a base Sport simply because of the wheel size (29" 32").

3. No, and don't bother. Order Ace Rock rails and use those, or buy take-offs. Used can also buy Mopar steps and other Mopar parts on Amazon and put them on yourself.

4. Do your research and have exactly what you want priced out. Contact dealers and ask them to give you their best itemized price on your build. Go to Carmax and make sure you have a written offer from them as well. The trade-in dance is always fun...not.

5. Sorry, can't recommend a dealer. Well, Pat if you want to drive to Chicago.
