i don't think there's any info about them as of yet, besides it'll have the vented hood and front and rear bumpers of the 10A. if this becomes available to order with in the next mont or so i might look into that trim also when i decide to order. depending on pricing of course first

I just came back from a dealer, says that on a 2014 2 dr. Rubicon, that the trailer tow group includes a larger oil cooler on the auto transmission.
I read all of the posts here. All I got was that the anti sway bar is included without the tow package.
Is this larger cooler on the transmission true?
I came home without ordering because of this question.
True or no?

What exactly does this update mean? Is the grill gonna look different? Or just the signal lens are clear?

Updated front Grille Marker Lamps with Clear Lens

Pat had mentioned it will be a loaded Rubicon.

Pricing should be around 10A if it is equipped like one.

Will it have the 10A bumpers and hood? Any idea on other seat options too?

Agree. I looked at a granite crystal grand and an anvil JK before I settled back on white for my 14 order. I'm afraid black fenders/top will bleed into the granite color and look silly.

I was wondering the same but I have read/seen no *official* documentation stating this. Considering that all models have the anti-sway programming, I would *assume* all models are equally "tow-ready," with or without the package.

I literally told my sales guy that I intended to save the money and install it myself. He just wanted to make sure the model I mentioned had a 4-pin as well. He said nothing about an oil cooler. In any case, you will have the updated EVIC to monitor if anything is going wild while towing.

That's what I was thinking, not enough contrast with the fenders.

About to pull that trigger...

Hey all, wondering if I can get a bit of help. Outside of color being a dilemma for me, this will be my first jeep purchase since dreamin of one as a teenager. My hair's a bit more grey since then , and this forum is AWESOME, thank you! Special thanks to Pat and Milous, btw for all the info!

Thoughts on the below?

RU
Granite Crystal

Options:
4.10 Rear Axle
24 Package- Auto Trans
Uconnect 730N
Premium Sound & Leather
Dual Top Group
HAB - A/C
Deep Tint Windows (believe these are now standard on RubUL???)
Connectivity Group w Premium EVIC

I'm going aftermarket for tow package, lift and new treads. Can you confirm no upgrades to tow package, as that's what I'm seeing, and anti-sway is included with/without tow?

Check the part numbers for the trans cooler and see if there is more than one. If there is it would mention the option it matches. My 2011 ford edge has factory towing which includes a larger radiator trans cooler and larger brake pads. All of which is not mentioned anywhere but a parts manual

Have you compared the Uconnect 430N to the 740n? I preferred the 430N as it is a Garmin and many on the 2013 thread had the same opinion. Just be sure to check it out if you haven't already.

430 does not have Bluetooth, you have to also order the connectivity group unless you plan on installing it after the fact.

Aargh, so confusing, thanks Pat! Maybe another aftermarket add or just forego the handsfree calling I suppose. How far "north" is Northfield to the Minnesota border? Maybe I need a reason to road trip...

Everything looks good but I prefer the Bestop soft tops to the factory soft top. Something to consider. I also opted not to upgrade the nav (stick with 130n) because the technology is fairly antiquated compared to what you can buy elsewhere. I am going with the 130n + connectivity group, and planning to run an iPad and dedicated GPS in a RAM Mount. Deep tint are standard on Rubicons per Pat's Standard Equipment List PDF. Leather and thermostat-controlled air conditioning are things that belong in luxury vehicles, IMO. Other than that it looks NICE!

2014 AEV Procal/Superchip Flashcal timeframes?

Anybody have any idea how quickly AEV Procal and/or Superchip Flashcal would be updated for the 2014 or if a 2013 unit would work?

I'm assuming AEV would be quicker for any updates and compatability due to their relations with Mopar?

I would love to do tires/lift ASAP after picking up a 2014 but don't want any issues with ESP, shifting, etc. while waiting for 3rd parties to catch up for the flash changes. Wasn't sure if anyone had any experience with past years and how quickly these flash mods hit the public???

Thank you all or the great info and help.

Thx for the advice re Bestop, I'll have to do more research there. Yes, while it may seem like luxury, having two boys (11 and 9) make leather more of a requirement in ease of clean than anything.

I'm thinking either White, Flame Red or or *gasp* Black for now.

Granite and Billet both seem too "purple" to me when seeing them both in person on Jeeps or other Chrysler vehicles. For some reason, with both Billet and Granite, I keep picking up the bluish purple in both, maybe since both have so much metallic?

I may hold out for one of the new colors or try to find an Anvil to see in person before settling on one of the carry over colors?

Yes, the q-tec hitch and harness is a 4 pin adapter. Some people have gotten their hitches from Amazon and ordered a 7 pin adapter instead. I almost wish I would have done it, but being that Jeeps have limited tow ratings anyway....so you won't be towing a lot of trailers that have 7 pin connectors.

-----------

Also, Bestop is the company the makes the factory top. So the Supertop NX is the factory non-premium top, and the Supertop NX Twill is the factory Premium top. The OEM boxes actually say Bestop on them.

However, starting in 2013, all factory 4 door soft tops come with spring assist. I have not checked to see if the Supertop NX's come with spring assist.

http://www.bestop.com/support

Does Bestop manufacture the factory original (OEM) soft tops for Jeep® Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited?
Yes. Bestop has been the factory original supplier to DaimlerChrysler for Jeep® soft tops since 1986. Bestop has also been the factory supplier of soft tops and accessories for Suzuki, Isuzu, GM, Toyota and many other small SUVs. Additionally, we've also been serving the Toyota truck market and Toyota accessories market for Land Cruiser for over 30 years. At Bestop, we proudly utilize the finest materials and adhere to the factory original specifications for fit, function, style and craftsmanship – so you know you’re getting the best there is.

You'll see purple in the Anvil color too if you're wearing the same tinted sunglasses. At least, I assume it was sunglasses that was making you see purple. Could have been air pollution, funky parking lot lights or the setting sun. Were they parked next to a Plum Crazy Challenger?

Get a good look at Anvil if you can. I wanted to love it but I see myself liking it for a few years and then getting tired of it. I really dig the contrast of the white with the black hard top and fenders. It will look even better with a steel bumper and fenders.

I think the thing to see is anvil with black hard top and fenders. When I saw it, the JK had color-keyed fenders and hard top, which to me is way too much for any body color unless it's a black body.

Get the 130N, and the connectivity group. Bluetooth calling and audio streaming: SOLVED.

Get a stand-alone nav. If you read up on the issues people are having with both the 430n and 730n, you might agree here. The map updates are impossibly long on the 730n, and you have to pay for them on the 430n from what I understand. The display on the 730n looks like something from the 90's, especially when you have it next to a retina iPad. Seriously, the 730n is almost $2k! I'd rather have new wheels and tires!

Yes you can order 3.73's without the tow group (that is what I did). But on the non-Rubi's, max tow isn't quite as big of a rip-off as it is on the Rubi. You only save about $100 when you pass on max tow from the factory on non-Rubi's (vs $300 for the Rubi's).

(General FYI for all, max tow is only available on 4 doors).

Panthermark, did you read the post about larger brake pads, more robust oil cooler, etc? Any ideas on whether that may be the case with the 2014 JK Rubicons? I would hate to have deleted that from my order by removing Max Tow..
