It is what it is. I'm in manufacturing and managing suppliers is a lot of work.

Something tells me Jeep won't sell it after. They would lose a lot of money.
You can order it after the fact, but I believe I saw somewhere the standard top is about $1400 and the premium top is close to $2k after the fact. The thing you have to account for is that the soft top has a value, so if you order the hardtop without the soft top, they are applying the value of that top towards your hard top which lowers the price of it. Also keep I mind that the painted option is just that, the painted option, you still have to add the regular hardtop option, and then ordered painted on top if that to get it as well.

All of the hard tops are painted by the supplier. The hardtop supplier is having trouble with the hydro paint, so the hydro hardtops are on hold. I do not know what sort of problem they are having.

The hydro painted bodies are fine.

I get it. Thanks for the help. I'll order the dual top and be happy.

I know the X comes with the "Deep Tint", but does that include the front windows on the driver/passenger doors? My kid's school is having an auction and one of the items is window tinting on two windows, and I know I can probably get it cheaper than having the dealer do it!

Many states don't allow driver/pass tint so no.

Most states do allow window tint, however they may limit the percentage of the tint allowed. It is relatively inexpensive to have the two front windows tinted.

I wish Jeep would just take control of the whole supplier park. That was just a way for Daimler and Cerberus to avoid paying for the investment themselves. Now that it is Fiat owned, they would have much better control of the product if they owned it.

They have taken back paint shop. I've heard they want body and framing too.

It wouldn't help them hard top issue since they are a small, off site supplier.

Hello All! Although I just registered on this forum a couple of months ago I have been obsessively reading the WF since the beginning of the 2013 Information Thread! Earlier this month I finally put in the order for my Flame Red JKUR X. Thank you Pat and contributors for all the informational facts and endless entertainment. I went from knowing zilch about Jeeps to being able to discuss gear ratios, wheel back spacing, the specifics about each model and such with my husband. He thinks I am nuts getting a Wrangler while our friends and colleagues are upgrading to higher-end German vehicles. Getting a Rubi is especially insane of me. BLAH! Our kids are teenagers, I am not getting any younger and I've been driving a boring Rav4 for the past 6 years (the Rav4 has been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned but I am in need of a rig with personality!). Rausch Creek is not far away so maybe the "Off Roading 101" course will be in my near future? My husband is very skilled at purchasing new vehicles. Never did he think he could strike a deal for what I told him to shoot for based on what I learned on this forum and this thread in particular. Knowledge is power. Thanks again and I can't wait to do the wave! I am so excited!!!

I know this has been asked before but I want to make sure info is current. I am getting ready to place an order for a Sahara JK tomorrow with leather/heated seats. Two of the dealers I am speaking with are now saying leather seats 'do NOT include' heat. It has to be added - a recent change Jeep made according to them. Does anybody know if things have changed and this is true?

That would be a shocker. I'm not going to tell you it's wrong, but it's wrong.

That's good to hear, I am a firm believer of keeping work in house. You always learn more when you do your own homework.

Welcome I think you made a good choice. I went with a Flame Red JKUR and have been driving it a little over 2 weeks one of my top best decision I ever made.

Normally we get the dealer to do it for free. I'm going to bid on an auction at my kid's school that if for a window tinting and car wash. Figured I'd give money to the school and get the tint lined up. All I need now is the X to put it on!

Are the 14's still supposed to come with a set of grab handles? I got two garment hooks but no grab handles (dealer said he checked all their Wranglers and none of them had any)

I thought they were listed as standard items on the window stickers.

The grab handles are never listed.

From what I can remember...what you got depended on what model you ordered.

4 door Sahara's and Rubi's come with 4 grab handles and two coat hangers.

According to the website it said "Quick silver painted accents can also be found on the door grab handle, instrument panel grab handle and vent rings." No mention of grab handles. They are ordering a pair for me.

Any idea what the rear passenger assist kit is supposed to be?

Is it possible to order a Rubi with painted flares and black top?

I can find all kinds of debate over the preferences and merits of painted vs. non-painted, but can't seem to find whether this is a valid combination. I've also seen enough of the Jeep configurator to know that what is or isn't possible there is not a reliable indicator of what is or isn't actually possible.

Thanks in advance.

Sadly no. You have to get the painted top on the Rubi to order the painted flares.

My wife and I would like to thank Pat, Archer Ace and all the others that provide such valuable information in this thread. Ordered 9/11 and picked up today, 10/31.

Amp'd Unlimited With body color top, black leather and a bunch of other stuff.

Pat and others, please keep up the hard work. You made this process so much more fun.

Forgive my goofy shadows in the pictures. I was in a rush to get back to work.
