the airbags are a personal preference i guess.. not sure how different the seat is with or without them. as for the Auto A/C controls, i heard from reading on here that it wasn't really worth it...

Don...Thanks! I had not seen the comments on here about the AC...what kind of feedback is out there on it? Thanks for your help.

My front seat looks like other front seats, you can't tell where the side airbags are. If it deploys, you will have to add seats with the dash and steering wheel. We have side curtain airbags in the van, so I went for Side Airbags in my JKUR, if the doors are on, they could help.

I set the temp in Auto AC when the temp is reached, the fan cuts off and turns on again when the temp drops. Kept the feet/body toasty warm this last week during our road trip. I leave AC on Auto, when I use Auto Start Auto AC kicks in to start the warm up or cool down, should we ever get heat. Or you can use the fan with temp. To me...so far... it's been worth it. Your money, your build, your life, your choice....got to go with your gut.

Thanks for posting. I had to halt my original order and now back in the hut and the Altitude is at the top of my list.

2014 2 Door Sports "S" model with power windows

Question: my window sticker has on the Optional Equipment list "Power Windows with Front One-Touch-Down Feature". The pdf manuals are a bit vague on the two door models with Power Windows. Does the 2 Door models actually have the "One-Touch-Down Feature" or is it only with the 4 door models? (My power windows go up and down, just not with this feature. I have had the 2014 for a month, and I thought that I initially had that feature, but I could be mistaken. My last Wrangler was a 2010 model and thing have changed a bit so please forgive me.

Edit: Operator error - didn't hold the switch down far enough for the "click" to activate for the One-Touch-Down Feature.

Live and learn...

I am on the Jeep website and no longer see Anvil or Granite available in the Build section of the site for the RubiX. Have some of the colors been discontinued on the X?

Weird, those colors don't show up for the Wrangler but those colors still show up on a Unlimited Rubicon X build.

Must be a glitch.

I was at the dealership looking at ordering a Granite Altitude and they informed me they couldn't do it because the color is on restriction...not sure what's up with Anvil. Also, the Altitude is available in white if anyone is interested in that color.

White got switched out for granite in the US. The press release said granite , black , hydro and amp'd. The reality is white, black, hydro and amp'd. Maybe Canada and/or international got granite.

Thanks for the update Ryan...I will let my dealer know that is the reason he could not place the order.

My wife has the same issue trying to lower ours. She just doesn't hit it hard enough.

It does take a little getting used to. I actually wish you just pulled up to put the window down but that would probably be more confusing for most. It would be easier to feel that "auto down" point with the lever in that direction for me.

Did anyone hear anything regarding Anvil now being restricted/no longer available as well?

Was wondering the same. My sister is planning on order a JK Sport S in Anvil, and she is going to be bummed if she has to choose a different color.

I wonder why Anvil and Granite don't show up on a 2dr Rubicon X build but show up for an Unlimited Rubicon X build on Jeep.com?

Any ideas?

Glitch in the matrix I suppose.

Both colors are showing up for me on the dealer order page. Disclaimer: I am not authorized to order, but it seems this page is legit.

I figure it's just a coding error on the web page since they changed the front build page (where you select from the Jeep lineup)

Ok standby for Noob question.... So I am hoping to order my first jeep in the next month or so and I had a question about top/door combinations. Specifically my dream setup would be hardtop/full doors AND soft top/ half doors. My question is if I order dual top will that soft top be compatible with half doors (uppers in particular) if I order them separately or is there a better way to do this? I know there are other aftermarket door options but like the look of the factory half doors. In the half door configuration I would still like to have the ability to close it up for dust/rain purposes. I wish they would create a dual top/dual door package. I would order it that way.

Educate away..... Thanks in advance

Dual top comes with the premium soft top. The premium soft top is only available with full doors. I don't think you can order both tops with half doors. You'd need to get half door uppers with the half doors. I don't know if Bestop makes premium uppers yet.

Just saw a modified Freedom addition in Hydro Blue with black rear hard top. Fenders are Hydro Blur matching body however. They lifted the Wrangler Unlimited Oscar Mike 2 inches, added the same front and rear steel bumpers/rock rails from the Rubicon X, larger rims with 35" tires, a winch and extra search lights on grill as well as by the drivers side door as well as black steel gas cap from Rubicon X. This dealer modified Jeep on Long Island in New York is going for $48000 vs $35000 usual Freedom tag without the mods. They seem flexible possibly down to $45/46000. We only are considering this since Hydro Blue is still not available on the Rubicon X and we really like this color. Would it still ride with the lift and larger tires similar to the Sport/Sahara? We actually prefer a slightly calmer ride. Is it the slip differential in the back of the Rubicon or the larger 32 in off road tires that make the ride slightly more vibrating on road? Seems like this mod although looking really nice may be a bit overpriced and not as valuable compared to just getting an X. It also comes with the premium audio and navigation along with standard Freedom leather trim/cloth seating, don't think they're heated. Thanks for any advice or input this forum can provide. Also any word on when the eco diesel may be packaged with the newly redesigned Wrangler Unlimited in the works? Thoughts on this vs. existing Wrangler as well are greatly appreciated

My thoughts are biased...we like the Hydro...however wife "required" HT, as she had discovered that with a JKU, the cargo area is so much easier to access with a glass window and tailgate, rather than deal with the zippers of a ST.

Bottom line we got "the same thing" 'cept ours is Polar...and yeah it is a very nice "ride", for a Jeep, for a DD grocery-getter/ grandbaby-hauler, with heated sets Nav and yadda yadda yadda. I THINK there are only like 2 or 3 options on the "Polar". And those are HD trailer Package, dual tops and remote start. We got the trailer pakage and remote start....dual top not an issue......all the other stuff is "neat" but it is all for her...I won't use it. I'm to busy driving the TJ most of the time.

Thanks for the feedback on Polar edition. I wish this color were available on Rubicon X. Not thrilled with many of the color choices this year, miss last year's dozer for starters. And apparently in several weeks Jeep may be announcing more definitive plans on Wrangler redesign and possible eco diesel option for 2015/16.

Also having difficult time negotiating with dealers in my area as they all demand full retail on Rubicon X. I live on Long Island 11050 Port Washington in New York. What should I be paying for Rubicon X? Any dealers to recommend on our behalf? Are deposits refundable and what amount should that be on average? Thanks again for any feedback or advise anyone can provide

Best advice I can give you is join Tread Lightly, wait the 30 days then get your certificate and go back in for under invoice...
