The speakers were "re tuned" by Alpine and I believe the bar has insulation in it. Sources say the sound system is quite a bit better than current, but as we know that doesn't really mean much with all the info we have here to make the current system sound better.

would you be able to ballpark how much more one could expect to pay for a new model year jeep as opposed to having them locate a similar version of the previous model year...perhaps off a dealer lot? I understand it would vary depending on options but a general percentage would be fine...I'm looking at 2 dr Rubicon x in Manuel .

I'm looking at buying a 2014 sport with A/C hardtop and manual trans, I'm going to build it as light as possible, as I will be towing it behind my motorhome to Moab, Colorado, etc... Best price I could find was 25,200.00 + tax. Is that about the best I could expect?

Thanks (as always) for the information! If I wanted to go this route...is it safe to assume the 2015 "re tuned" sound bar would fit in a 2014?

What would be the best tires for a Rubicon X Unlimited that offers a little more road worthy comfortability vs the knobby off road BF Goodrich it comes packaged with? Michelin perhaps or any recommendations with model/brand would be greatly appreciated.

Have you driven on the BFG KM's? I don't think they are rough-riding at all. I have 1800 miles on my Rubicon and I am completely happy with the road manners of the stock BFG's. And they were awesome when rock-crawling and trail-riding up in Big Bear, CA for the Jeep Jamboree!

I have 3675 miles on my JKUR, it's my DD. I've had 6 & 5 hr freeway one way trips, hubby feels they ride smooth. We plan to take it to Colorado Springs for his Military reunion. For him to choose my JKUR over his Caravan, and he has been in it for 2 long round trips...he would hardly go to town (10 miles) in the stock tires on the CJ-7...says something for the smoothness of the ride with stock tires. I do not notice a rough ride with stock tires, whether it's dirt, gravel or freeway surface and speeds. You might want to try them before you change them out.

I'm guessing it's because Pat isn't using this forum as much. He has moved to a new forum primarily.

Hi everyone. I just purchased a 2014 Rubicon Unlimited X (love it) but I have a question and I have not been able to find the answer... I have the automatic transmission and I'm trying to figure out if I have the 4.10 Axle Ratio? The beginning of this thread states that the 4.10 is standard on the X, then states that it is optional on the automatic. The dealer told me it had the 4.10, but the window sticker does not have it listed as a paid option... so I'm confused.

If anyone knows the answer I would be very grateful.

4.10 comes standard on the manual transmissions. It's an option on the automatics.

4.1 gear

A 4.1 is standard on the manual trans, optional on the auto. It would have the 4.1 option listed on the right side of your window sticker if it's an auto. It's a $495 option

I believe on the Rubicon X - the 4:1 is standard. I could be wrong, can someone with an X verify please?

4:10 gearing is not standard on an X. It's a $495 option MSRP.

It's standard on Rubicon and Rubicon X's with the 6spd manual, it's a $495 option on the automatics.

When your dealers did the initial build sheet, did it call out the 4.10 axle gearing for the auto transmission? I just noticed the initial build sheet from one of the dealers doesn't call it out. But the price is right. I hope my local dealer didn't build off of this too closely.
