What is this affiliates program, and do i need to do anything special to get 2% under invoice on a custom-ordered wrangler?

Charles.

Some companies (including mine) participate. It gives you no haggle 1% under invoice through all dealers that participate.

You can also get a code by joining Tread Lightly.

http://treadlightly.org/join/individual/

$100 Individual Membership Level
  • All of the above benefits and
  • Eligibility to receive the Affiliate Rewards Program Preferred Price (1% below factory invoice) on the purchase or lease of most new Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, Dodge, SRT and FIAT vehicles. The Preferred Price – combined with current incentives – can be up to thousands of dollars off the Manufacture’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP).

I don't know of an easy way to get 2%, but you can get 1% pretty easily with TreadLightly or Chrysler Affiliate if you qualify.

Keep things in perspective though. 1% = ~$300 and the TreadLightly membership is $100...

There is a bit more to the discount than that.

Chrysler rebates the dealer basically 2% of the invoice price minus $75. 1% of that is passed on to the buyer, the dealer gets the other (almost) 1%.

So it works out for both the dealer the the buyer to use the Affiliate program. Plus, there are rules in place (and a number to call) around other fees being charged. Pat has an entire forum section, and in that section are the rules to the Affiliate Discount plan. At least 1% below invoice is guaranteed with the Afiiliate plan.

Good to know. I, unfortunately, work for one of the few Fortune 500 companies that is NOT on the Affiliate list. Boo hoo.

I saw granite crystal on a grand cherokee on the lot and decided to get white instead.

I would say it's about the same color as the black plastic fenders, but it was REALLY metallic (lots of sparkle) on the Grand Cherokee I saw. It looked essentially like the fenders and body were all the same color. I like the contrast of the black fenders on a different color body, but different strokes for different folks. Go troll the lots at your local dealer and I'm sure you'll see at least one of the colors you're interested in...don't trust anyone else's opinion in text.

If you take a look at the color range we have 4 black to gray colors, 1 light blue, 1 off white and 4 red/orange families. Just seems they lack the basic range of colors. No dark colors except gray/black

Pat, is there any chance new colors could still come out later in the production year? I'm itching for a 2014.
Yeah, I will completely agree the colors this year are less than stellar. I would love a bright orange JK, but I missed out on Crush. Copperhead was a possibility, but as my lady says, "things poop that color". So looks like it is Billet Silver for me.

Solar Yellow is a thing of the past, but having driven a '01 TJ for the past 12 years in that color, I'm going for white. It'll be fun to give it a bit of personality, maybe going with a Star Wars Imperial theme. I may do something else, I'll know when I take delivery of my JKUR. Just waiting on info on the X, after seeing the bumpers and hood in person on a 10A, I think I need them.

I'm with you. I was hoping for a nice Green. Rescue specifically. But Jeep green would have been cool too.

She's got two little girls, so truthfully, that could likely be said about ALL the colors. Especially if there are crayons around when they get hungry...

The joys of the Gerber/Crayon diet haha.

Billet is a very nice color imo!

Flame Red has returned, I don't see why they can't bring back Solar Yellow.....

Yeah, I had narrowed it to Copperhead, Flame Red, or Billet. She doesn't like Copperhead, and I'm not fond of Flame Red when dirty. Billet looks good even if I get lazy with the washing.

True, but I don't see it. I think I'm over it, the JKU might have too much yellow. No way I'd get matching tops/fenders! I'm 99% sure I'm going with white, unless a color really looks awesome in person.

I would have liked matching fenders, but the the top would have been WAY too much!

I was hoping for a dark metallic blue, or dark metallic green, oh well. I like to see the colors on the vehicle, anvil looks good on the chip.

Go to a dodge dealership and find copperhead on a truck..i was seriously set to order anvil but i went to a dodge dealership to see copperhead and was instantly sold on the color. It is absolutely incredible, i dont care how well the photographer is it is a color that needs to be seen in person..pictures just dont to it any justice

I was all set to buy a 13 in Billet until I saw the Copperhead. It's just one of those colors that looks great and "pops", especially when it's paired with the black fenders.

I wanted Dozer or Crush. The *ONLY* yellow vehicle I'd ever liked before I saw the Dozer Wrangler was a Ducati Yellow (on a 1098), but I didn't think I'd care for it on a 4-wheeled vehicle. But damn Dozer was the shit. Plus, I'm in pollen country. A yellow car means the trees can jizz as much as they want, my Wrangler will still look great. Plus a bright color hides scratches so much nicer than a dark color. I'll never get another black or burgandy motorcycle again, every little tiny scratch shows up. Drives me crazy.

So, I'm hoping this new yellow looks more like Dozer, and less like poo.

Charles.

Is it just me, or do painted fenders and painted top make the wrangler look... ghetto? Every time I see one I think all it needs is spinners and a thumping bassline to look just like all the h2 hummers around here :/

We did, could only find it on Dodge Journeys though, no dealer had a Ram in Copperhead. We also saw a Caravan in the color yesterday while on the road. I agree it's a nice color, just not quite what I want. Combine that with the other half disliking, and it's off the table.

I do agree with others, however, that it'll probably look pretty good on a Wrangler with the black fenders offsetting it.

Trying to get some real pics of one they have already built, but was told it is closer to this prowler. Maybe a cross between a bright yellow and the old TJ Inca Gold
