The 130 can also Bluetooth the phone audio so no need for cables.
Stupid question (aka Devil's Advocate)...If you're relying on an iPad with integrated 3G/4G/Whatever, what happens to the nav when you're in dead zone? This was one of the reasons I went with the 730N.
I also have a Dell tablet with MS Streets & Trips installed, with the USB satellite receiver, but never tried using that as true turn-by-turn directions.

Tablets and smartphones have pretty descent GPS apps these days that will still work in a dead zone provided you still have satellite coverage. I personally rely on my phone for the Wrangler and use the 730 in the GC. Big plus to the 730 is the size compared to a phone (I have a soft top, so an ipad would be too easy to steal), and there are functions like being able to rewind live satellite radio which are nice. Using Uconnect I find to be much easier on the 730. The 130 goes over a 7 second prompt everytime someone calls explaining how to answer the phone. The 730 just picks up immediately and the display makes little things like working the radio functions much easier. I still get confused navigating iPod menus on the 130's little screen. Just a fun fact but Ferrari used the 730 on the GT California. I'm not sure if they still use it or not.

Has anyone been able to add the Uconnect 430N to any build and had success, may be a supply issue. If they don't have any it makes sense to block it out for future orders until they can or sell off any extra 730N they have laying around

Is there a website that explains in detail the differences between all the radio options for the Wrangler?

Go to Jeep.com and there's a tab for "Owners" and under that is an option of UConnect. It pulls up the different radios and their capabilities.

It's not a supply issue, it really is a glitch that is being fixed, I wish I could say more but was asked not to.

Unless you go aftermarket, you can't get leather in a sport at all.

I did that before I posted the question. There's not a lot of information that I can find on the jeep.com website.

The 130N, that's the base radio. Does it have iPhone 5 integration? Does it have trouble reading from any size flash drives? What about USB hard drives?

My ex girlfriend had a Hyundai Elantra, and it wouldn't read from any USB drive greater than 2GB in size, it was exceedingly slow reading that drive, and would lose its position in the playlist every time the car was shut off. It couldn't play iTunes m4a files on a USB stick either. It was more annoying than it was useful. The software was really halfassed.

This website is very misleading in the way it presents the features of each system, and I would argue that it intends to confuse more than educate. For example it shows that the 130/130S do NOT have bluetooth, but when you click the 130S, it clearly says that it has bluetooth...

Im looking to trade in my 11 JKU for a 14 JKU 23 c package with anvil color, 3.73's, connectivity group, sirius, and alpine system. I owe 8k on mine and the dealership said the difference to order the new one with the options listed above would be 15k OTD. Msrp is at $28,455, they said roughly $26,700 for the new one and they are giving me $21,000 for mine. Does anyone think this would be a good deal? Im really liking the new engine, color and options. My plan is to build up the new one since it has better motor and some of the options I like.

False - you can get the Premium Sound and Leather package on sports now - but you can't get red leather seats like the 10A Rubicon had....

This is what i'm going to order...

2 Door, 6spd, Granite Crystal, 3.73 Gears, Hard Top, AC

Keep the prices low, don't need all that navigation mumbo jumbo, i live in DC, it's just asking to get robbed..plus i'd feel uncomfortable parking jeep with doors and top off in public places...

Just tryin' to justify my cheapness...now i just need to find someone who's looking to sell or trade their red leather seats...

Haven't seen the information, or missed it. Can you get the max tow in a 2014 Rubicon Unlimited with 4.10 axle and automatic ?

The Max Tow package was discussed and the conclusion was that it is a TOTAL RIP-OFF! If you have at least a grain of capability with a wrench, save your money and buy Quadratec's setup for less than 1/3 of the price...

Quadratec Premium 2" Receiver Hitch with Wiring Kit & Jeep® Logo Plug for 07-13 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

But if you want to go factory, yes you can get a JKUR with max tow, 24R, and 4.10. There was an ordering glitch earlier but it had been resolved when I placed my order on 6/11.

That was really a good gist of info on that. How about the oil consumption patterns of the new variant?

Actually it clearly says the Bluetooth is "Available" meaning an additional option is needed. That option is the Connectivity Group. Same with the 430, it doesn't have Bluetooth by itself, but it can by adding the Connectivity Group.

Torn between Anvil, Billet, and Granite Crystal. Of course Anvil and Granite Crystal won't be available at the same time which makes the decision on when to pull the trigger tougher. Aye, aye, aye, tough choice.

Sorry, tried to find the answer to this in the 38 pages, didn't see it, and if I missed it, I do apologize, but do we know what the special editions will be for 2014? Is the MOAB edition coming back? and will it be available in granite.......?

Got our order in last night. Still really wanted the 430N but was more concerned with getting the order in. Replacing a leased 2010 Mango Tango JKUR dual top w/:

Anvil JKUR w/ Prem soft top only
24R
heated seats - black cloth
4.10s
max tow
connectivity
remote start
730N

Thought about buying the hitch myself but it's a lease again and figured at least this way it's all under warranty since it's the wife's dd. May add the 10A hood later and the rear bumper if made available. Have my eye on ACE's front stubby and their rails.

No offense, but I have never understood why you would lease a Jeep Wrangler? I understand for a work vehicle I guess, but a Jeep? Are you allowed to make mods on a leased vehicle? And if you do add all the gadgets and 10A hood you are talking about then what happens when you turn the Jeep back in? I guess I would just rather own my own vehicle.

None taken. It's the wife's driver (that we DO occasionally offroad...I drive a 2013 Charger R/T AWD). Lease keeps her in a warrantly constantly which means I don't have to wrench on anything that breaks unless I want to. Plus, anyone else that's leased and keeps mileage fairly low can attest to this, the lease equity on Jeeps is HUGE. We started w/ an '08 JKUS hardtop. Turned in and had $2k in equity so we stepped up to the '10 JKUR dual top w/ almost no increase in payment. This time around the mileage is low enough that I've got $5k in equity, total for the vehicle is slightly higher, and my payment goes down $30/mo.

We've always gone in with the idea that if we liked what we had when the lease was up more than the new offering, we'd buy it out. Haven't had that happen yet. And any mods I do will be fairly easy to remove and sell off if I choose to.

You find this clear? Tell me this isn't intended to convince the consumer to get the 730N if he/she wants Bluetooth...

Oh yeah, I agree that chart sucks, it should use an optional mark for things that can be added with the Connectivity Group. That would make it easier to see that the only thing you get with the 730N over 430N+Connectivity is Sirius Traffic.

730N (1895) + Connectivity (170) = 2065
430N (1095) + Connectivity (495) = 1590

That makes Sirius Traffic $475! Granted, if you like the nav system of the 730N more than the 430N, that is yet another benefit of the 730, but still, it seems like another rip off to me, especially since useable hard drive space is actually greater in the 430 than the 730.

the 730 and 430 seem like great headunits, but i honestly there are better aftermarket solutions available and you could also get them even cheaper. same with the connectvity option. the only plus of the connectivity package is the new EVIC.

i think now im pretty much sold on getting a base sport model now... because i myself plan on doing alot of upgrades all around the vehicle. i guess to some people who don't want to do these upgrades or installs on their own then its definitely a good option of just buying a 730 or 430 with the connectivity package calling it a day.
