They weren't the rubi rails.. But they weren't plastic. They were factory bolted to the frame

Personally, if you don't want to talk about the new 2014s, including colors, plenty of other threads to read. Waiting for copperhead, otherwise billet. Just need dealer to give me what my trade is worth.

The Auburn Ected Max is a selectable locking LSD. I'm not positive what axles they have it available for, but I am pretty sure it's American made I've considered it for the front axle too...

Like who? Me and Mikebot are the only ones complaining about colors. I'm not going to add to every color post and give my 2 cents on why it should or shouldn't be in the 2014 info thread. Your the only one who got your feelings hurt for whatever sensitive freaking reason.

Is it possible to order a Sport Unlimited with 4.10 gears. If I build another jeep I know I will be running 35's so I will want 4.10's. Just weighing options on Sport Unlimited or Rubicon as it will cost me about $1500 to regear a Sport. We mostly just play on the beach with the jeep.

Gentleman, enough of the bickering please. I'm pumped about ordering a Jeep soon and would appreciate if we could stay on topic here.

Does anyone know if I'll be able to get the Rubicon X in Flame Red or will it be a special color like the 10A?

I'm pretty sure you can only get the 3.73 gears on the sport. 4.10 only available on Rubicons. I have heard that the 3.73 gears do well with up to 35" tires with no need to regear. If you are going with bigger tires then you would need the 4.10 or lower gears...

From what I have read I think the only difference between the 4.10 and 3.73 gears is only a couple hundred rpm (correct me if I'm wrong). Not a HUGE difference, but if I had the choice I would definitely go with the 4.10 gears. I just don't want to pay another 5K for a Rubi just for the 4.10 gears...

It makes absolutely no sense to me why Jeep doesnt offer the 4.10 gears across the line. all jeeps go down the same assembly line, why not offer it as a $500 dollar option? I would certainly pay it.

I dont want a rubi, I want to build my jeep up..I shouldn't have to spend 5k more just to get the option of 4.10s... really ignorant to me how jeep does some things.

I agree 100%. That would be my biggest complaint with Jeep is that they don't allow the 4.10 upgrade on all models. I understand they have to keep things "special" and unique for the Rubicon, but at least offer the 4.10 gears without lockers to us "regular" guys!

So here's my dilemma: I was all set to order a 2012 JKRU in Flame Red last year. Then the order banks closed and rumors of Rock Lobster surfaced, so I decided to wait to get a 2013.

Held out to see Rock Lobster in person, and was even stoked about the name considering its the larger cousin of my favorite crustacean (crawfish) and I am a Louisiana girl. (Yes, I want a red Jeep & plan to name her Mud Bug, so no other color will do.) Well, once I saw Rock Lobster in person, like many others...I HATED IT!

By the time I found out they brought back Flame Red late for the 2013s, well lets just say I missed the boat again. Soooo, I'm all set to order a 2014 Rubi in Flame Red, and out comes rumors of this Rubicon X. I love the 10A hood & bumpers and don't foresee myself purchasing them separately and painting the hood after the fact.

Do I wait for the info on Rubicon X, knowing I might kick myself if I order a regular Rubi and the X is really cool? Or do I wait & find out its only coming in some grey or other non-red color and miss months of fun in my Jeep? Any info is appreciated. I've been playing this wait and see game for over a year! Arg!

I would guess it has to do with CAFE.

I went with 3.73 on my Rubicon since it will spend most of its time on the highway. Hope I don't regret it.

I think I read that the 10A was based on a pretty much untouched AEV hood, and MOPAR copies of AEV bumpers. You could buy them yourself. I bet it wouldn't cost THAT much to have some place like Maaco throw a coat of paint on the hood. Might even wind up being cheaper overall. Plus, it opens up your bumper options to the whole range of aftermarket, so you could tweak front and back to match what you want. If the Rubicon X is late availability like the 10A was, it could be a whole year before you have your Jeep, if you wait.

Plus, if you order now, you guarantee that the details on the X come out immediately, and that the X will be available for ordering starting in a month. That way, you can have your Jeep, and the rest of us can get the info!

AEV's sister company makes the hood for Jeep. I don't think the bumpers are AEV though but I could be wrong and maybe we'll see them pop up in the aftermarket too.

Personally...I'd like to order that hood from Mopar and eventually get the rear bumper for the '14 we just ordered. Have other ideas for the front as I'd drop the end pieces the day I got that 10A front bumper home. And I'd prefer to run the ACE rails over the Mopar rails that were on the 10A.

I think you've already answered your own question.

Order what you want now or expect to be kicking yourself for another year waiting on the promise of another "Super mega special edition of awesomeness" that has something you do or don't like.

It's like someone said earlier, you're not going to be seeing the color from the inside. But, is it worth settling for a color you don't really want to get a few months of Jeep time in? For some people that may be the deciding factor.

That might be true in a lot of vehicles, but not the JK. The insides of the doors and windshield area are all painted so you can clearly see your exterior choice in your interior.

Once you own it and make a few mods, you'll love it regardless of the color donmeca. And, there will always be a new color coming out.

I'd rather be driving a Jeep than shopping for one.

Okay folks, lets please keep things on topic and avoid insulting others.

I've had to clean up several posts and if it keeps up infraction points will be issued.

Corporate Average Fuel Economy
COMPUTER-AIDED FILM EDITOR
Carex feta
Cellular Automaton-Finite Element
Community Action for Energy
Conduit Artery Function Evaluation
Controlled Access Folder Executive
Conventional Armed Forces in Europe
Coronary Artery Flow Evaluation
Corporate Avergae Fuel Economy
Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions
Centre for Access to Football in Europe

CAFE - I'm guessing you meant Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions...

When in doubt, blame the Canadians!

Accents

Your best bet, if you can't decide on the perfect color, is too buy one you like and accent it with a color you LOVE. You can always change those accents if you decide you like another color.
