as am I and the fact that Commando Green looks like it will be truncated from the 2014 line, I am also happy I did what I did when I did it! And I was not even looking to buy! The motor blew up in my '08 X 3.8L @ 54k miles only 2.5 years after buying it from the dealer with only 21k miles on it... I will never do that again! BUT, it lead me to my commando sahara! LOL

I guess I'll have to buy white, or a used Crush. Plum Crazy might be an option if it comes out.

Pat, previously the 3.73 ratio was only a $50 option, with max tow including it for about $300 more, now the 3.73 will be $295, max tow $395?

I couldn't tell, is a basic form of Uconnect now standard on the base JKU sport?

Any chance that dual doors would be the 2014 surprise?

I'm not even a fan of yellow myself but I miss seeing them around. I totally agree with needing more exciting colours. This past year just seemed doom and gloom to me. Billet, black, white, even true blue....I'm shopping for a Wrangler, not an Audi.

3.73 is currently $195. It hasn't been $50 for a while. Max tow is currently $390 so at least that didnt change.

If they count sales as shipments, I'm sure it was due to the hold up on the 10As that were all rushed out last month. May not be a true picture of what sales really are.

Toledo is running full-tilt which is an indication to the strong sales of the Wrangler

It's actually a better indicator of the domestic car market in general.

Jeep missed out on me as a customer by not having the old Yellow available anymore. Drove a yellow Jeep on the beach as a lifeguard, was hoping to relive those days a bit. Now, as a firefighter I am going with the Flame Red fire Jeep.

I hope they don't bring Gecko back. I believe I've got a monopoly on that color in the Crystal Lake/Huntley (IL) area. Would hate to share.

Just over 1100 were 10As, IIRC 1111. Shipments aren't counted, Jeep goes by what was reported sold and delivered by the dealerships.

While this year was what I called the "M&M" year (if 2012 was the Skittles year)...let's be fair.

Black, white, and some sort of silver is offered EVERY year. Also, True Blue was actually introduced late in the 2012 MY.

I was not impressed with the color this year, but I would not call 2013 doom and gloom, I would call it "earthy". (Commando Green, Dune, and Rugged Brown are all earth tones). I just think Wrangler missed the mark on the shade of some of the earth tones (and Rock Lobster as well)

Furious Fuschia (or whatever it was going to be) was originally supposed to be a 2013 color.

Pat, I know your contact said you would get 3 out of 4 on the bright color wishlist. Any scoop on pending availability of granite crystal metallic? If it's not coming I want to order an Anvil before that window closes.

You might as well wait for the re-design. Nothing new and exiting in the 2014, or 13 or 12...
Only changes are price and some colors. All other changes are pretty insignificant.

I guess we're going to overlook the 3.6L engine and new powertrain?

Yeah...forgot about that

I will still wait for the redesign, and see what they bring.

Why wait for the re-design? That might not happen for 3 more years. You may be waiting until the fall of 2016 or 2017 for a new Wrangler.

There have been some big upgrades over the past few years.

2011 - Huge interior upgrade
2012 - 3.6 engine and new 5 speed auto.
2013 - New seats, LED lighting/lighted rearview mirror, individual tire pressure reading, and a premium soft top. Plus new wheels on the Sahara and Rubi. Later 2013's had the pinch seems cut.

Not sure what is will be new for 2014.

And as mentioned before, you shouldn't buy a first gen...you're basically paying to be a bug tester. Not to mention, the 3+ years you miss out on enjoying a Wrangler.

Grrrrrr. For the love of all that's holy, I need to get my CJ sold! I'm dying to get into a new Billet JKU.

Getting ready to go talk to my dealer and still waffling between the Sport and Sahara. I really would like heated seats (yep, I'm old) and the 115V Power Adapter.

Does the Alpine Premium Sound in the sport get you a 115V Power Adapter or is that Sahara only?

Only way to get the adapter is to order a Sahara or Rubi.....or one of the special edition Sports (2013 Freedom Edition WITH heated seats, or 2014 Sport with Katzkins) .

Oddly enough, that is also the only way to get factory installed heated seats.

The Alpine system includes another 12V adapter near the sub. I think that might be what you are thinking of.

Thanks, this is a tough decision. I know I'm going to replace tires/wheels and suspension (teraflex leveling probably) so I just can't see the cost increase to the Sahara for painted fenders and heated seats from the Sport S Package.

Pat thanks for the information. I'm right in Aurora, IL maybe we can work something out on a 2013/2014

Here is a question....when do we expect Jeep to update their website with the new 2014 information? I thought I read somewhere that June 5th was the targeted date.

I don't think the 2013 info was up on the website until late fall last year.

I went back and forth as well...

Tough call....especially if you plan on replacing the wheels and shocks....even more so if you plan on going with a black, cloth interior.

You can have heated seats installed by the dealer, but the buttons are not in the factory location.
