I know. However the suggestion is that this Rubicon X is a clone of the 10A minus any reference to 10A. All any reference includes (a) decal outside (b) 10A stitched in the leather (c) 10A on the dash (d) 10A inlay the grab handle.

Removing all that crap is how many dollars worth? 100? Point being if they do introduce this duplicate vehicle minus all references to 10th Anniversary, it would have to be significantly cheaper in order to sell, since there are quite a few 10A's still available on the lots out there. Anyone can buy one now. What's the point of introducing the same thing if it is still too expensive. If it is not going to be as expensive what else will be removed from this Rubicon X. Hood and bumper pretty much is all it has. Everthing else remaining is mere fluff from black wheels red tow hooks to KM2's. The picture of it that was put up and removed looked identical down to even the red trail rated bradge.

Don't know somethings not right with the idea here. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Regarding 10A availability, I suggest you take a factual snapshot. They are not available. Dealers are swapping what's left of small dealer allocated stock. I know a guy who is looking for three weeks now. Nothing. So where are all these 10A's at that are sitting in lots?

There's a Black 10A JKU with red leather seats at the dealership where I bought my Sahara that's been there since mid-May.

As of this morning it was still for sale.

They are out there, it just depends on whether the dealership that does have them want's to let them go or gamble on being able to get the full sticker price before the 14's start showing up.

Well, I finally placed my order yesterday for a Flame Red Rubicon Unlimited! I just wanted to thank Pat and Milous and anyone else who posted all the useful info in this thread. BTW Pat, I ordered from your dealership here in Sanford, FL (3 mi. from my house) and they couldn't have been any nicer! I almost felt guilty asking for (AND GETTING) invoice price... I could detect a note of disappointment in the sales manager's voice when I asked for that! (haha) He was kind of surprised that I had all the invoice amounts for model and options, but I didn't say exactly where I got them.

Being an "informed buyer" is the only way to go, thanks again to Pat!
If anyone is interested in buying from Fields Jeep here in Sanford, FL, PM me and I'll give you the name of a great sales rep.

No 1-2% below invoice? Didn't do the affiliate rewards thing?

Yeah you need to email me, if you told them you were on the forum and had Affiliate Rewards you should be invoice less 2%.

Make sure you email me so I can get this straightened out.

Back to 2014 info, the Rubicon X won't have the same standard equipment as the 10A. I'm guessing leather will be an option, that way Jeep can advertise/show a cheaper base price than the 10A. Something will be removed maybe connectivity group.

i can literally count more then a handful of them here in SoFla area.... some dealerships have at least 4 on the lot. i love hearing the salesman here say the old : " These sell like hotcakes" or " we can't keep in stock long enough"

I really did want one about 2 months ago.. the price tag on it was 1 reason i never got one, also the unwillingness of the dealerships that wanted to negotiate on the pricing.

Anyone want to make bets on whether that orange one in those pictures (from the included link) is copperhead?

I don't think that's what people were thinking and hoping it was!

EDIT: Oh, my bad! That's probably Amp'd.

Sure, there's still 10As around to buy. Don't think "local" when you see several at the closest dealer...think 5 years from now when they are GONE. Then the only 10As you will have to choose from will be listed on Ebay and autotrader. Don't expect cheap either... this never was a cheap Jeep. There's more to the 10A then already mentioned. The stitching is on the console and armrests and chrome steering wheel. Steel front underbelly plate. Two rear hooks, not one. None of this may perform a function with a current perspective...it's about years from now. Keep your 10A in tits condition and it will one day be a classic no matter what is offeted in 14, 15, etc.

Oh, and my battleship is not sunk with that hideous wood trim and glowing green rings. Wow, if you all like that, then I am the fringe lunatic who likes it simple. I miss my CJ7 and my LRD90s for their levis style. This new concept stuff is fluff...

Yeah, those concepts were pretty cool when they were first unveiled and most of us all saw them, way back in March.

It appears however, that they changed the wheels on Stitch. I like them much better now.

The premium on any past Jeep Special Editions other than the CJ-5 "Super Jeep" and the Hurst Commandos is minimal. An old Jeep in great to new condition will bring the big bucks, the package has little to add. But what fun is a Jeep that is not used as a Jeep? Anyone that bought a 10A for the collector resale value does not study automotive sales history very well.

Change miles to dirt, and Ferrari to Jeep and you have the same idea

We can't tell or show you ALL of what we saw as there is an embargo until September 1st but we CAN show you these GREAT exclusive shots of some REALLY cool Jeep Wrangler concepts done by Mopar.
With the existence of the internet, I don't know why the manufacturers even try to embargo things anymore other than to try to keep the likes of Road and Track, Motor Trend, Four Wheel and Off Road, and other hard copy mags in business.

paint chipping question- ArcherAce?

Okay, I couldn't figure out how to add an image to a PM so I'm posting it here. I'm hoping ArcherAce could provide some insight here since he works at the plant- or anyone else who might know. Anyways, I took this picture of the bottom of a 2013 Wrangler that was on a dealer lot. The hole thingy (don't know what it's for other than attaching a bolt for side steps I'm guessing) on every new Jeep has paint chipping off around it. Maybe it's because this is where the body is attached to something and carried down the assembly line after it's painted. I don't know. I was just concerned that this exposed metal would rust and then it would spread over time. Maybe I'm just being too anal but it's kinda annoying that the paint is chipping on a new car, even though it can't be seen- I know
So I guess my questions is why is this happening?

He can shop the Carolinas. I saw one at the dealership Saturday in Charlotte. And, as I search for Sports in my area dealer sites at least one 10A per dealer seems to pop up.

Maybe they're just sold out in Florida.

Whoo Hoo Just talked to the dealer about a tire swap. I told him i didn't have a date on build but had gotten emails that it was scheduled. He said, "Just a minute, I have a date." Pause, pause, pause. "It is scheduled to be built July 22, 2013." I may have it before August!!

Pretty pumped that it is scheduled for build on the first day!!

Just a guess, but it looks like damage from where it is tied down during shipping.

I agree. You might add the CJ-7 Golden Eagles with original paint. those are pretty pricey. But, even those rarely hit $20k. Even in very nice condition.

I bet these guys thought they had a future pay day coming too...

That's what I thought but every wrangler on every lot has the same thing happening to them. Maybe it happens while being shipped from the factory.
