Pat,

When it says available Fall 2013, when does the order window open?

Thanks! And thanks Milious for your help, too!

[QUOTE=ArcherAce;3917148]I can't tell where that hole is located. Can you be more specific? It looks like it got stuck on something.

Unfortunately we are closed for summer shutdown. I won't be able to look for it until Monday. If it's in the plant I'll definitely be bringing it to their attention!

It's right underneath the driver and passenger door (holes are on both sides) and I'm guessing its a hole for a side step bolt. There's a row of several of the same sized hole and the one that is always banged up and chipped is closest to the front wheels. I can take another pic if you need me to. I really appreciate you looking into this! Who knows, maybe it's a small fix at the plant or it could be from shipping.

Well that stinks on the Hydro Blue. I want a Rubicon and I wanted a blue...but a bright/fun blue which is why I didn't buy a '13 True Blue. Guess if I pull the trigger on a '14 it's coming down to Copperhead, CG or maybe Amped. But I am really bummed...really want Hydro Blue

So now that Hydro Blue will be for the freedom edition now, is it ready to be ordered ? if this is another few months away of being able to order i'm going to start looking more into the copperhead or granite. Now if these are also a few months away from being available to order, i guess it'll be time for me to order an anvil this week.

Does anyone know:

When they start a build on a Wrangler, how long does it take till it is finished?

I'm not talking about time to gather parts, or time sitting in a queue, or sitting in a rail lot to be shipped, but the star to finish time when they start putting the pieces together till it is ready to be shipped?

Thanks,

Rod

I don't know for a fact what the time is for the Jeep plan but most mass produced cars take about three days from start to finish. A good chunk of that time is spent in queues between assembly stations doing nothing but moving slowly. There are always queues between major assembly sections so that if something goes wrong the whole factory doesn't stop. They either add to the queue or use vehicles from the queue until the down section gets moving again. A queue between sections might be as little as2 hours or as much as 18 hours. The actual build time is probably around 24 hours. Then is sits in the parking lot waiting for a full trainload going to some drop off point where it gets picked up by truck and delivered to the dealer.

So if your at some place near the end of the line it might take weeks (lots of weeks) before they have enough vehicles to make a trainload worth sending in your direction. Then it can take another week for the truck to pick it up and deliver it.

So the build time is not the waiting part. It is getting a slot in the build schedule and then shipping that takes all the time.

Thanks Milous.

It does seem to be a bit of a kick in the teeth of the 10A buyers, when it's nearly identical like that. Not sure what the advertising was originally but it would seem these were special one of kind commemorative editions. The only real external difference is that they will still be using the original KM's. The advertising for the 10A states for the wheels: "17X7.5 Rubicon 10th Anniv Rd Wh" -- this Rubicon X "17-inch aluminum wheels, painted satin black w/ polished faces, red Wrangler logo" is it the exact same thing?

Some 10A owners may feel like they've been duped into being a rolling advertisement for the X by the time it comes out. The 10A's certainly a head turner and conversation starter. Now all the little people will be able to have one too.

Who ever promised that everything on the 10A was going to be exclusive and never reproduced by the company that originally manufactured it? The Jeep looks good and comes with some lipstick. Enjoy it and move on. Why worry about other people's purchases?

Just watched my friends 10A through VOTS and it took 3 days.

This is 1 of the reasons I would never buy a "SPECIAL" Edition... How special is it really if they mass produce them?? I know there is a limited number, but guess what comes out the next year? ANOTHER "Special" edition.

Thank goodness all the "little people" will be able to get the same 10 A... I mean Rubicon X you bought. I mean you have to have a lot of money and be a big person to buy a 10A

It does not make me like the 10A any less. Still a great ride and glad I got it. Nice Jeep for the first one. I do not get all the negative comments toward 10A buyers.

Only regret is not getting a freakin' soft top. :P

Of those 10K+ 10A posts, it was mentioned over and over again that if the 10A is popular, those parts would be available on the next Wrangler. If a 10A owner is shocked by the "X", they should have read through those posts! But I do hope they stop selling the 2014 in Anvil soon! I do like NOT seeing that color on every other jeep rolling! But it doesn't leave me butt hurt about it. Lord Chrysler does what is best for him! But I'm glad they at least let my red leather seats remain exclusive...I think. And hope.

That's what I mean. A color NOT seen on every Wrangler. I've only seen two other 10As, one Anvil and one Billet. First Billet Wrangler I had ever seen outdoors. Great color! If I were still in the market, I'd build up a Rubicon X or that Freedom Edition III. Not because they are "special editions", but because they sound awesome and you get a couple extra things for the $$.

Fair enough. If most people are those on the forum will see a ton of copperhead, amped, and granite.

Thank you good sir!

So, what would the red Rubicon hood decals look like on Flame Red? Wouldn't they just go with black decals?

Also any idea on when the 10X can be ordered?

The decals on the 10A are red and black. You think they should make them white for a better contrast?

Sounds like this guy was trying to compensate for something..... so you purchased an over priced jeep wrangler?? Do you want a cookie? well within another month that special anvil grey will be at numerous dealerships lots as well as other members homes when they take delivery of them soon.

There goes being exclusive
