Hello All:

I am looking to move back to a jeep and had a few questions I was hoping you all could help me with.

1. When you pre-order a 2014 how does the financing work? Do you have to get the vehicle funded immediately or do you complete financing upon arrival?

2. Do you think its worth waiting to see if the rubicon x package shows up or just have the dealer install the AEV aftermarket items contained in the package? Have any dealers been able to provide discounts on AEV aftermarket items since I can't use my company discount on them?

All opinions are valued and thanks in advance for the help.

1). When you pre-order you MAY be asked to put down a deposit on the order ($500-$2000, I think I've heard). But you do to have to pay for it in full in advance. So, while you're waiting for your jeep to be built, start checking out alternatives to dealer financing. That's where they make the most money on you. We purchased last November and got 100% financed through PenFed.org with a 1.49% rate. I'm not sure what it is today, but I know they ran a special for July 4 for .79%, I think it was. They do charge a small fee to join their CU, but its one time and a relatively small amount. (~$5-25). Someone else mentioned getting a great rate from Wells Fargo. Check out bankrate.com for more lending rate information. You could wind up saving yourself a TON of interest charges. If you're interested in more information about how PenFed works for financing, you can send me a PM.

2). I think that whether you wait or not is completely your call. Some people who were waiting for a 2014 color to come out have finally given up and bought a 2013 off the lot this weekend.

Good luck, whatever you decide to do!

I ordered:
Manual Sport S (23S package)
3.73 Gears
Anti Spin Differential
Deep Tint Sunscreen Window
Half Metal Doors
Connectivity Group
Sirius (required for connectivity)
Alpine Premium Audio System
Flame Red (hoping it grows on me)

MSRP: 27,860
Invoice: 26,804

I paid 2% under invoice: 26,268 - plus tax and doc fee.
ALL of the dealerships around here have the same $500 doc fee unfortunately. But, I'm not going to quibble over a couple hundred.

I didn't even have to haggle. When ordering I showed my spreadsheet on my tablet, which had the MSRP and Invoice prices for every option, as well as 1%, 2%, and 3% below invoice prices. All working with formulas too

After he plugged all the options in, he's like I see you've done your homework He asked me what I wanted, I said 2%, and he made it happen. He's still getting doc fee and hold back

Bought it from Westgate Chrysler Jeep in Raleigh, NC.

Already planning mods... sahara running boards, blacked out rims (possibly with a red stripe), the bumper kit to bring the ends in, neoprene seat covers, and possibly a new head unit.

Charles.

Charles,

what website do you recommend for wheels? I have been looking into getting some black wheels when I make my order this month. I was actually looking for 18"-20" wheels (out of the norm, I know... but my taste!).

Wow that's exactly what I'm planning to order next week- down to every option you chose. I'm going to try and get the tires swapped out for rubicon tires.

Regarding Optional equipment packages... there can be a lot of confusion surrounding these packages - the reason is, the list of features on these packages does not always apply to every model.

For example:

AJC MOPAR PREMIUM SOUND AND LEATHER
"Upgrades to leather with the selection of cloth trim"
1. 115V AUXILIARY POWER OUTLET (JKV)
2. ALPINE PREMIUM AUDIO SYSTEM (RC9)
3. HEATED FRONT SEATS (JPM)

This package is available on the Unlimited Sport 'S', Unlimited Sahara and the Unlimited Rubicon. Only the Unlimited Sport 'S' includes all three additional features:

Unlimited Sport 'S' - includes features 1, 2 & 3
Unlimited Sahara - includes only feature 3
Unlimited Rubicon - includes only feature 3

The Unlimited Sahara and Unlimited Rubicon do NOT include items 1 & 2 (115V/Alpine) in this package. Why? Because they are both Standard equipment on those models.

This also explains the price differences on the AJC packages:

Unlimited Sport 'S' $2,695
Unlimited Sahara $2,000
Unlimited Rubicon $2,000

Thank you Milous. With the Unlimited Sahara and Rubicons only including feature 3, any idea why the price of it is so much more than the Leather Trimmed Seats option on the same models?

Leather Trimmed Seats $1100($979) includes heated seats

thanks!

First post here. I'm excited to have found this awesome forum. I'll be ordering my first jeep in a few months. I've read through most of this thread so I apologize if I missed it. Do we know the price of the optional black wheels and rubicon tires yet? Has there been pictures of them and when can we order them as an option. Thanks!

32 inch tires/rims

Pat says that black rims and 32 inch tires will be available in 2014 model. Any chance anyone knows if they'll be the sweet wheels on the JKR 10th anniversary? BF Goodrich on that model too?

I'd love those on a sport.

The description is black rubicon wheels so I would think they will be identical to the 2013 Moab Edition. Tires are standard Rubicon KMs, not KM2s.

Forgive the dumb question... I have some buds who have after market remote starts on manuals (not Jeeps)... I assume the remote start is not an option on the Wrangler manual? I'm 99% sure I'm going 6 Speed on my order (just because)... saw it in the options, just wanted to make sure they didn't overcome the liability issue with something that didn't allow it to function with it left in gear that made it an option for the 6 speeds this year.

When I ordered my 2014 with a 6 speed, a remote start was not an option. The dealer had mistakenly thought I wanted a auto and had included the remote start. When we moved to a 6 speed the remote start had to be removed from the order also.

Any idea on when more Rubicon X info will be available?

Ordering availability? Colors available? Costs?

It should be cheaper than the 10A package, right?

AEV parts are used on the Moab and Call of Duty editions. The !0th anniversary and Rubicon X is Chryslers design on their hood and bumpers, not AEV however there tirecarrier will work.

AEV's sister company makes the 10A hood for Jeep.

Another Rubicon X question:

With 4.10 gears being standard on the Rubicon X, does that mean that it's also standard with the automatic transmission, or does it bump back down to 3.73s when you add that option?

Bumps back "down"
4.10 is the only axle on a MTx
Auto is std with 3.73 and optional 4.10

My head hurts! Just got back in town and had to read 20 pages in this thread to get caught up. Am I reading the info correctly , that to get all leather seats, you have to have them installed after factory? I am not a big fan of the leather/vinyl combo. We went to Colorado wheeling in a rented Rubi, and now the wife ids chomping at the bit for an Amped JKUR.

That's right, it's called Quality Metalcraft or QMC.

Anvil on all models in 2014? What's so special about my 2013 JKUR 10A now Chrysler?

It's a 2013 10A...that's what is special. The color can now be ordered on other models, but that doesn't make those models 2013 10A's. unconfirmed rumors of the Rubicon X all seem to indicate they will get the same bumpers and hood of the 10A, but I've seen nothing claiming that they will have the 1/2" lift and different tires

Red leather seats (if you ordered them) and the 10A badge will be the big difference....that and the fact that it is "officially" a 10A. But from a performance or color standpoint...not much. But that is how all of the special editions are.
