Thanks Pat for the up to date info. Is the Rubicon X available to order yet?

One thing everyone placing an order might want to think about, your Window Sticker/Monroney sticker will state at the top "This Jeep was Built Specifically for Your Name Here". If you do not go by your first name, or if this is being built for a spouse or kid, make sure your dealer knows this and lets Jeep know the exact name that you would like on the Window Sticker.

I am a junior, and go by my middle name, my window sticker looks like the Jeep was built for my dad. The dealer is trying to get this issue fixed for me. Little and trivial, but emotionally significant to me.

Does anyone know if it is possible to put side steps on a rubicon with rock rails? I see that they are not an option from the factory, but was wondering if it was physically possible, or if I would have to remove the rails to put on the steps.

Also, I was wondering if the max tow package included anything other than the receiver, wiring and possibly the axle ratio change? (sometimes towing packages include transmission coolers, etc.) I can buy a receiver and wiring for $70 on amazon.

Not factory Wrangler steps.
But Ace makes a very popular slider that can be used as a step and fits over the Rubi rails.

Max Tow package is pretty much a rip off on a Rubi. Go through Amazon or Q-tec.

Your dealer can remove the rock rails and install the Safari type steps upon delivery to the dealership. Just a hair under $600 installed for 4 door version. You keep the rock rails to store at home for future use if needed.

On our current Rubi the dealer did it for free (kept the stock rails). It's the wife's jeep so I was fine with it but this time...keeping the rails and adding the ACE underneath.

730 pricing

A quick question for those in-the-know:
How much is the Connectivity Group when paired with the 730N? Same as with the other systems (441/485)?
Thanks everyone for the great info on this thread!

Thanks, Panthermark-
I didn't see the pricing in the Rubicon section and just assumed it wasn't there.
Thanks again!

Thanks for sharing this! I did not know that at all. I just emailed Pat with my request. Hoping it's not too late!

My dealer is giving me 2% below invoice + all of the Hold back, but there is a $549 Doc Fee. So if I have to pay the full $549 doc fee that puts me at $35,431(a little better than 3.5% below invoice). Now I just have to wait until the granite crystal is available
Is $35,431 an OTD price, or is it that number plus tax tag title? I just want to make sure before I go to my local dealer so I can negotiate a good deal. thanks

Mopar Premium Leather vs Leather Trimmed Seats

Still trying to figure out why Mopar Premium Sound and Leather package on a Rubicon/Sahara is $900 more than the Leather Trimmed Seats option, since the "Premium Sound" part is already paid for in the Rubicon/Sahara price.

I found the following Katzkin Leather Interiors choices on
2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited - Interior Accessories | Mopar

Part # LTHROCS2DU MSRP $813.00
Katzkin Leather Interior, 2-Row Deluxe, Uninstalled, OCS Compliant
Part # LTHROCS2TU MSRP $1180.00
Katzkin Leather Interior, 2-Row Tuscany Edition, Uninstalled, OCS Compliant

Part # LTHROCS2DI MSRP $1365.00
Katzkin Leather Interior, 2-Row Deluxe, Installed, OCS Compliant. Warranted for 3-years/36,000 miles when installed at time of vehicle purchase.
Part # LTHROCS2TI MSRP $1775.00
Katzkin Leather Interior, 2-Row Tuscany Edition, Installed, OCS Compliant. Warranted for 3-years/36,000 miles when installed at time of vehicle purchase.

I'm wondering if Deluxe Uninstalled (uninstalled because the factory can do these?) is what you get with the Leather Trimmed Seats option, and the Tuscany Installed (installed because the dealer needs to do these?) is what you get with the Mopar Premium Sound and Leather package?

Unfortunately, Mopar makes no attempt to explain the difference between the Deluxe seats and the Tuscany Edition seats - they even use the same photo for every combination. From the thread below, however, I'm starting to wonder if Deluxe is the so-called "Factory Leather".

Here's a quote from another thread about Katzkin Leather (vs "Factory Leather") (http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/kat...er-111236.html):

Knowing this I would not order the factory leather. Unless it was Katzkin.
The factory installed price includes seat heaters. So I would say that it is a fair price for a quality product.

I work for a Jeep dealership and we are also a Katzkin installer...

Katzkin is the way to go if you want leather. It is a top notch quality.
I would rather go with the cloth, instead of the factory Chrysler Leather

thanks for any light you can shine on this!

I've learned there are 3 parts to vehicle purchase, that should be treated individually. Sale of used car, new car purchase, and financing. Financing and used car purchase often produce more profit for the dealership than the new car purchase.

On my JKUR 10A, I was able to negotiate 11% off sticker (tax, title, registration were separate). I also played dealerships against each other. Take your time, I spent 3-4 weeks going back and forth. You need to be able to walk out the door and allow them to chase you.

And the salesman like to use emotional manipulation. Don't let their anger effect you.

Here is the Katzkin we install. This is Tuscany and it has not been finished. It still needs to be steamed. Crappy cell phone pics

No, that price is including all fees(doc fees, etc), but does not include tax and tags. Before tax and title I'm around 10% below MSRP. 5% below invoice before fees and a little better than 3.5% below invoice including fees before tax and tags. Not saying I am getting the best deal out there, but this is a deal I can live with.

I am not trading anything. Gonna put cash down and probably finance through someone other than dealer, but if dealer can somehow beat my best deal then I will finance thru them.

The front is a nicer leather than the factory, some like it better. I am quite happy with my factory leather. Easy to clean, seems to be wearing just fine, it's been rained on 3 times and so far no issues.

It looks alot better once it has been steamed and it shrinks. I took these today right after the tech got done installing them. I'll take more once it is finished. The wrinkles go away once it has been steamed.

No pricing yet. Originally I was told the X would be cheaper as the package would not have all the same equipment as the 10A. In other words, it would be a little "de-contented". By the sounds of things, the package has all the same equipment, so we will have to wait and see.

One new tidbit I just got, on 2013s the black leather seats in the rubicon had "Rubicon" stitched and the thread was black, this year it will be embroidered and will be a silver -ish color. Not sure what color on the Saddle leather yet.

Other than that, there's really nothing exciting to report.
