Thanks - would also wait for aftermarket certification if not going with the Mopar mats. Still working on what the Max Tow options means to a JKUR apart from a hitch and a cable.

Hope to be in the waiting room on my birthday Monday!

Peace!

Mopar slush mats order with your build would probably be the quickest...depending.

My salesman tried to convince me that the wiring configuration for the stock max tow was not piggybacked on the driver side tail light. "This one is wired right in to the controls." But then when I asked him what specifically a 4-pin connector allowed a trailer to do, he said its just for brake lights and turn signals. Soooooo yeah. Don't buy the BS. It's just a brake light controller, and I'm 99.9% certain it piggybacks on the tail light in the exact same way. I took some photos of the 2013 hitch.

Now hurry up and place your order so you can join us in the "2014 JK Order Waiting Room."

I thought power group was standard on the rubicon?

Standard on unlimited rubicons, not the 2 door rubicons

Pat and Milous, you are The Men. I wish I lived closer to either of your dealerships, Pat!

I'm going to attempt to order a 2014 JKUR from Westgate in Raleigh today:
  • Connectivity - must have.
  • Premium Soft Top - on the fence about this. I have no problems with my current, "not-premium" soft top; is it worth the extra $$$? If I can see one on the lot today, that should decide it for me.
  • Max Tow - was going to do this, but after educating myself in this thread, I concur it is a rip-off if it's only a hitch, a cable and some labor (and not enhanced cooling/braking). Is it only a hitch, a cable and some labor? If yes, hello Quadratec!
  • Wheels - would prefer the black Rubi wheels instead of the stock mineral grays. Any chance of this on either the order or as a dealer-installed swap?
  • Mats - if I can get the Mopar Slush mats thrown in, fine. Otherwise, hello Quadratec again!

The kid in me wants Copperhead; the rest of me says Billet. The Granite Crystal is nice, but with a black top, fenders, tires and (possibly) wheels... Not seeing it. None of the other colors appeal to me.

Peace!
The premium top is worth it. After having the regular top on my 2011, the premium top is just much nicer. Looks better and is definitely quieter. As for the mats, just get the mopar ones, the $75 is insignificant on the price and you will be happy with them, I've had them in both of my rigs and they are great.

I don't know of any order forms, but there is a post (I believe the number is 609) with a spreadsheet on Google Docs with all the line items, MSRP and invoice pricing. You can use that to help with cost calculations.

Would that work for you?

I ordered mine on June 12.. VOTS still shows me in "production scheduled" .. the GM at the dealership says he shows shipment date of Aug. 01...I ordered a 14 JKUR soft top, auto, 3.73, 730 nav, dune, leather.... I want to order my lift and bumpers but the local custom shop says the distributers advise against it until the mfg's list the parts for 14's... I understand that there is not to be any structural changes .. how can I confirm this...

I am getting ready to order a 2014. I should have never sold my 2012.

While we're on the subject of the Mopar floor mats. Does anyone know if when you add on the slush mat option do they still give you the standard carpet mats as well or do the Mopar mats replace them?

I think the answer is "it depends", but most likely yes.

My 2012 Sport came with Mopar mats that (continue to) lay on top of the standard carpet mats.

Peace!

No, they remove the carpet mats. The Jeep will ship with the slush mats only. I can sell the slush mats cheaper than what the factory charges. Your dealer should be able to as well.

Can dealers typically beat $75 on amazon, $65 on eBay?

Peculiar shift going on at Jeep imo. Not for the good at the moment. Originally the 'owner' of Jeep (Chrysler -at the top), a young guy with award winning design savvy elsewhere and in other fields, explains the interior changes, the 'skittle' color changes, engine changes etc. -- all good.

But then or now, someone is taking it too far. They include the cheaper rubber slush mats and remove the more expensive carpet mats and market that as something special. Likewise the 4.10 gearing. And now with the 10X. There is someone inside there that's not understanding Jeeps and is being too clever. Failing to see the big picture. The massively touted 10A crème de la crème anniversary edition reduced to nothing now parts affixed to anything anyone wants to order through the manufacturer*. Never were the limited edition moabs, cods, other, presented with a near replica once designed and delivered. The problem for Jeep now is one of credibility. Before hand, massive promotion and advertising to sell the 10A as the 'big' anniversary edition. "top of the line" -- then diluted to next to nothing.

What does that mean, what that means is Jeeps word is worth exactly NOTHING.

This new blue for 2014. Jeep leaks that it will only be available once and only with their special edition. Sound familiar? That's right, like the 10A. "Only" "special" "exclusive" --- out the window.

Expect anything that Jeep from now on in 'sells" as special, exclusive, only to amount to a hill of beans. That blue will be available to everyone. The same new "clever' brain behind swapping out the stock carpet mats for the cheaper slush mats, the 4.10 axle, has cried wolf now. The wrong new guy in the company juggling and messing around with the tried and tested Jeep "things' in order to justify his presence in the company.

FAIL.

And if you delve even closer, the maker of the 10A hoods is a Checuti. Small shop in Michigan. They bought into AEV 50:50. They stamp out the hoods and other one off small run metal products. Checuti is "married" to a Chrysler design engineer. Been living together for 7 years now. Checuti is a famous dynasty name indigenous to Malta. Lo and behold, the first company out even before the nominated winch designer can release the specific mounts for the 10A, an overnight start up appears with a new bumper and mount plate, immediately, MAXIMUS-3. A Malta based design house.

Someone is messing around with the Jeep brand. While the youthful and creative ownership of Chrysler is appreciated, constant redesigning of the interior, the new engine. A very very specific balance is required. Once someone smells a rat. You will never see a precarious house of cards fall faster.

I think someone already posted about that. IIRC there's no way to have the decals left off by the factory, but you can remove them pretty easily. Or you could probably pay the dealer to remove them.

Great Garages: Kyle Evans and Michael Chetcuti bring their cars indoors - Autoweek

“I always had a dream that I could put a car in the living room,” says Kyle Evans, a Chrysler designer and half the duo living in a repurposed heating and cooling warehouse near a Woodward Avenue suburban Detroit uptown. “I wanted to do that so people would see the car as sculpture or a piece of art. Then they could see vehicles as a designer sees them, the way I do.” So along with Detroit native Michael Chetcuti, a custom fabricator, building designer and car nut, Evans created his dream space, finished in 2009 after two years of remodeling

Is this an Aaron Sorkin movie?

I'm not sure if we should slow clap or run to our windows and yell "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!"

I'm sorry. I know that as an FNG, I should listen more than talk, but that seems like an incredibly small needle to let break you.

Can someone give me more specific details on the Sound and "Leather" option and why the "Leather" is a dealer install option instead of coming from the factory?

I'm always been in love with the Wrangler Unlimited since they came out but I'm still thinking if I'm really gonna enjoy it living in the FLAT-BORED state of Florida.

Thanks,

I'm sorry Positrac, but you're simultaneously upset about rugged rubber floor mats replacing posh carpet floormats AS AN OPTION, and a single posh interior upgrade from the cheap substandard, but rugged LOOKING interior after 4 years of unchanged production (and this happened 3 years ago).

You must have bought a 10A model in Anvil to be so upset over the use of SOME of those parts on future Jeep products. The COD and Moab buyers might not have had to worry about the Sport having all of their bumpers and hoods this year, but they did have to face the fact that they paid a pretty penny to have the same gear that I could buy with a simple phone call to AEV.

Chrysler wants to make $...can't fault them for that. Demonize their ability to do so and you're just asking them to go out of business
