Interesting. Wonder why the meaningfully lower cost of $3,649 vs 10a "24J" of $5,400?

At first I thought it might be lower because they might be allowing Rubicon X w/o leather and w/o connectivity.

But if that's a real build, it would seem to indicate that leather is included in the X package.

If it's really going to be $3649 and it includes leather seats that's not bad at all...

Well, everyone likes to ignore the fact that the X is NOT a 10A. The 10A had a 1/2" taller suspension, different tires, standard leather, and all the fancy embroidery and labeling.

Hey Mark, it seems as though the 2014 Sahara's still have the yellow/gold seat stitching, unlike the silver on the '14 Rubi.

2014 Rubi cloth seats.

The rubicon off-road extras are all covered by a full warranty. If you buy a sport and start modding, you may void your warranty. Something to consider.

The difference between a Sport, Sahara and Rubicon in payment cost is Sahara = ~$42 a month more, Rubicon = ~ $79 a month more for the options I want. The benefits of the Sahara are the heated seats and painted fenders. The benfits of the Rubicon are the 4.10 gearing, lockers, painted fenders, mud terrain tires and heated seats. Other than that they are identical orders.

I am planning a trip to Denver/Moab at the end of Oct for my first time out west. Other than that some trips to Rausch Creek may happen but no extreme rock crawling. I do live in NY on top of a very large hill so the lockers may come in handy occassionly there.

As far as resale/trade in 3-5 years, does the Rubicon or Sahara bring any extra money to the table over a sport? i.e. the extra cost per month is basically covered by the increase in trade in...

Curious, so what exactly has the X package omitted now that you have to pay for versus the 10A
Second I did not see the X available for order or that it would even be built in flame red or dune.

Tdeborah- since u indicate this real build coming, can you not see the items associated with the X package/24J like a window sticker has? When do you think they will be arriving?

It may not be omitting anything. If Chrysler thought it could do higher volume on these than 5,000 per model year, simply ordering a larger lot of parts will get them better economies of scale to lower the price on the package.

Alright you guys pushed me over the ledge, Im going with a rubicon

Actually i spent the last hour crunching numbers and the difference is $3,600 at 2% under invoice which i think is a no brainer.

Considering its going to cost me 2k to re gear it (no way can I DIY that) the 4:1 transfer case, the electronic sway bar disconnect (even though its junk) and the electronic lockers to add this all later will be well over the $3600 difference I think the OEM stuff will be fine for my plans

No Brainer IMO

Can i get away with not having to gusset my axels if i get 35s with a rubicon? with the trails i plan on going on (green/blue)

Awesome, welcome to the future rubicon owner club. Now watch out for the above posts about the rubicon x package -$3,649 invoice price. If this is true then it has caught my interest. Funny how I go from thinking Sport, then to Rubicon, and then to Rubicon X.
I'm thinking the Rubicon X isn't available with half doors which would be a deal breaker for me. BUT if you can order the X with half doors then I am definitely going to consider it for $3649...

Correct me if I am wrong, but the $3649 is invoice. The $5400 for the 10A package is sticker. A little calculator work would bring the sticker price to about $4100 for the 2014 X package, I believe.

I'm pretty sure the X package contents will be different then the 10A contents. Just a hunch...

I am so close to being able to pay for a 2014 Rubicon, or 2013 10th anniversary. So close! Does anyone know what if any incentives will be coming out August 1? Just need that little extra bump to pay for it all in cash.

Jeep explains $900 diff in leather seat options

After four webmails to Jeep, each asking essentially the same thing:
"An Unlimited Rubicon already has Premium Sound. The Mopar Premium Sound and Leather Package includes Heated Seats and costs $2000 MSRP. The Leather Trimmed Seats option includes Heated Seats and costs $1100 MSRP. What does the $900 extra buy?"

I finally received a response that actually addressed the question:
"I took the liberty of escalating your inquiry, this morning, regarding
the Mopar Premium Sound and Leather to our Jeep Program Management, and have received a response.

The Mopar Premium Sound and Leather option has an MSRP $2,695, however is discounted by $695 on the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. This discount is a larger discount than the MSRP value of the Alpine Premium Audio System that has an MSRP $395. In addition, the Mopar Premium Sound and Leather option fully covers the seat in Tuscany leather, as opposed to just the bottom and back with McKinnley Leather. The Leather Trimmed Bucket Seats MSRP $1,100 is only ?Leather Trimmed? on the bottom and back with McKinnley Leather."

From trusted first-hand experience, we've heard that even the Tuscany leather seats use vinyl on the sides, so my money is not on the Jeep response. But who knows, maybe they've changed it for 2014.

Dumb question, but is cruise control "speed control" standard in the new 14 JKU in a 23c package? I believe it might have been an option back in 2010, but just wanted to make sure. Thanks

OK... completely confused. Are the above posts saying you can order an X or is that just the pricing with ordering availability date still pending? I'm holding out for at least Granite anyway, but I'm curious.

Any Seattle area people out there? I am new to the Forum (but have been quietly stalking!) and am waiting not so patiently to order my first Jeep, but can't find a Seattle area dealer that will order! The ones I have talked to are all telling me NO 2014 Wranglers are open to order for another few weeks (and then another 6-8 week wait for delivery. I know from my forum stalking that lots of people have ordered, and some have even gotten them already, so...? Anybody managed to order in the Seattle area or Washington State? Thanks!

Is this filter exclusive to chrysler or can you get it at any auto parts store?

Keeping this info written down as I am sure it will take many moons before everybody knows this info. Many will argue that they are the same.

In the case of a change like this, typically the filter will only be available at the dealer for a short period of time, then the parts stores will carry it in different brands.
