I'm about to put in my order on a 2015 WW and am up in the air on adding the Alpine Premium Audio (if I even have an option to NOT add it?).
Does the added amp power all the speakers or just the Sub? Not worried about the sub but I would like to hear my music when the doors are off/top down.
Rumors are it does sound better (from that other site) so I think I'll go with it as oppsed to putting that ~$600 towards replacing speakers/adding amp for those/etc.
I'm going with a Uconnect 130, would it be better for me to add U430 and no Alpine?
Not sure about the 15s, but the one on my 14 isn't that great. You can hear it with everything off, yes. However, I think $600 would be better spent in the aftermarket.
Well my WW being shipped now has the U130-Alpine upgrade. I believe the power output is better and the speakers are larger and JG members seems to like it.
I am always hesitant with aft-mkt installs. A real good headunit will run 800-1K with nav and depending on speakers/install. you could be all in 1500-2300 depending. plus risk wiring mistakes and scratched up dash or ill re-fitting of panels.
If the 600 bucks gets you close, cant beat factory fitment if you ask me.

The 2015 amp has 12 channels, one for each speaker and 4 for the quad-voice-coil sub. The 2014 amp had 8 channels, one for each speaker, and only 2 for the dual-voice-coil sub.
Both the 2014 and the 2015 has 46 watts per channel.
I guess the proof will be in the pudding (translation: Time will tell) I'd be pretty stoked if I had an inbound '15 Hopefully it will not disappoint.
The unit(s) in the '14 are pretty bad.
I'm perfectly OK with the sound from my U130, except for the subpar Satellite Radio quality, and the USB not remembering its position when the vehicle is restarted, but I didn't buy the Jeep for its stereo.
I'm not a sound guy by any means. Didn't want the Alpine system but it was mandatory. Just drove it and turned it on for the first time last night. I gotta say, I don't hate it. ( Much better than my 08. ) Seems to have good enough power to listen to it with the top off at highway speed. If I could have ordered it without the Alpine, I would have. But since I have it, I'm OK with it and wouldn't give it back. Just my .02 on it.
I will say this about the system (don't even know which one is in mine) sub says Alpine.... I thought "ehh" when I would listen to it.
Then my Son hooked up his iPhone to it and played a couple songs he had on his phone.
Holy Crap!!! What a difference. Night and Day I could not believe how good it sounded.
So, for anyone (like me) who thought rip this thing out and put some good stuff in.
Before you do it, actually play it with some good source material and do it through the aux.
I feel like I have a pretty good reference of other cars with and without custom systems over the years and I for one have been very happy with the 14 Alpine system. It may not have enough bass to rattle my neighbors windows but even at highway speeds I have been happy. It very well may have to do with my last system in my toyota, but this was an upgrade for me and well worth it.
Ended up going with the Alpine Premium Audio. Forgot to check if I could order without it when I put my order in today, but here's to hoping it sounds good enough to keep me doing other mods as opposed to audio.
I was going to Polyfill but might hold out for a bit and see how it sounds/what other people do.
I have a 14 with the Alpine system. I was ok with the sound but the 130 HU sucked. Lack of settings and menu system. Changed to a aftermarket and I was a lot louder. The stock Alpine speakers can't handle the output withe the stock amp now.
I was hanging out at the dealer last week and got the keys for a '15 to take a look at. I was surprised how good the sound is on the new system. I bought the basic system in my '13 and upgraded it later, and the stock system on the '15 was very good to begin with. I was listening to radio on it, not sure what Sirius sounds like. If I bought a new one I'd leave it for awhile before thinking about upgrading, just to see.
It is much better! Well worth it. I went to the dealer and specifically listened to it. I have a 2013 and I'm looking for a 15 for my wife. Sounded much better. Even felt the bass through the drivers seat.
Have it in my 15 JKUWW. I was forced to get it when I ordered back in July. I can honestly say I'm glad I got it. Sound is great. You can actually drive with the top off and hear the music lol.. It even sounds better then the Bose system In my wife's denali
I like it. Have not listened to a CD or other media source yet, just satelite radio.Plenty of volume, bass, and I think better than the system in my King Ranch. Not near the power of the system in my Shelby, it will blur the mirrors. LOL I have the 430 because I wanted the Garmin nav.
I think a lot of others are giving it a bad rap without really listening to it.

Actually so far every opinion I've read about the (redesigned for) 2015 premium system has been positive. It's the previous version from 2014 and earlier that was poorly thought of by most owners.
The 2015 Alpine system is killer. I love it with the 430N. Replacing the head unit soon with an Alpine CarPlay unit, but have no desire to change any speakers. New sub in the floor is a gigantic improvement. It's clean and tight and will vibrate the rear view mirror if you want it to.
I just moved up from a 2013 JKU the standard system with sub to a 2015 JKUR with the Alpine system. HUGE difference. Lots of bass. I had to back it off some. Sirius sounds ok but I've never thought the sound on satellite radio was that great. I'm glad I went ahead and went with the upgrade.
Can anyone answer this?? I hate the NAV on the 730. And I would prefer physical buttons.
