2015 Release Date?

I am considering a new Wrangler and I thought if I was considering a new JK that I might as well wait for the 2015? Maybe get an updated infotainment unit at the very least? Diesel option at the very most?

So my question was when (based on historical trends) would I be able to at least order a 2015 JK and when would you expect them to be delivered?

I live in Canada, so if dates were different for Canada a Canadian specific date would be best, but I would settle for a US as well.

Thanks!

I did some more of my own research. Looks like June time frame you can order and September you could be driving it. I could be way off though, I figured people who ordered a 2014 would chime in.

I ordered my 2014 on September 11. I could have ordered late June, but was waiting on Granite Crystal to open. And saving more money. I would guess about 3 months you should be able to order.

I'll eat my hat if a diesel is available in 2015. I wouldn't expect much for changes. There wasn't much 12-13. Then there wasn't much 13-14.

There are a couple of threads about this that I've seen. I believe that the orders for the current model year are stopped some time in May. June is used to finalize building all the orders that remain in the queue. Then around the last weekend in June, Chrysler shuts down the line for three days for retooling for the next model year.

If you check the 2014 waiting room, I believe it was started on like June 4th. If you scan the first couple of pages, you should see when the first order was placed/delivered.

I believe the last day to order a 2014 is 4/21/14. The earliest the 2015's will start to arrive at dealers are September.

Check out this link to another thread for some info.
To build a 2014 JKURX or a 2015 JKURX, that is the question.

Ada111, I am in the same boat as you. Might as well wait at this point to get a 2015.

LeasePlan - Purchasing News

I saw that link in another thread, cannot find the thread now. Supposedly that site is fairly accurate. I am in the same boat as well, I really want the Rubicon X for the summer but it might make more sense at this point to wait.

Just from historical data for MY 2014:

First Ordered: 6/12
First Shipped: 7/23
First Delivery: 7/25

First delivery that I could find in the waiting room was to aug2011, who ordered from Patrick at Fields DCJ in Chicago.

Not sure what effect being in Canada has to this whole process.

My 2014 dates:
Ordered 6/17 (officially)- there was a glitch in the system for those who wanted dual tops.

Delivered 8/2 & picked up 8/3

But during that time, the factory was shut down to prepare the line for the 2014 model year.. I believe production began in mid July.

Right now there is $2500 consumer discount as well. I doubt 2015s would have that.

I want one for this summer

I call BS. They can't build them fast enough- no way they would offer that going into convertible season. At least not here in the US.

if i recall correctly people starting ordering end of june/july ish.... mind you all colors are not released at once, the regular colors are available first. black, white, silver, then the new one start trickling out 2 or so at a time.

thats what all of us 2014 owners had to deal with... hell for us who wanted copperhead and hydro blue we were damn near the end of the year before we were able to order.

I recall making my order first or second week of september, and i received it the first week of november.

hope that helps.

as far as rebates go there are usually NEVER any. i know when i purchased i wasn't able to apply for any of them...

it's not BS I was going to wait for a 2015 but couldn't resist this offer. My bone stock JK was actually less then the current offer, $20695 before taxes and all that jazz

Soooo, I am going to pull the trigger...
-$2500 consumer cash
-$1000 bonus cash
-$2000ish for employee code

$25,000 Sport S
-5,500 in discounts
=19,500 + tax

Leave a lot of room for tires/wheels/bumpers/radios/seats... OMG YES.

I, too, am torn as to whether I'll wait for a diesel 2015 Unlimited, or pull the trigger on a steeply discounted 2014.

Between a $5k discount for a 2014 and the fact that diesel will likely be a $4,500 upgrade, it will take a long time to save enough fuel to pay the difference.

40% increase of fuel economy - 20% in fuel price = 20% fuel savings

15,000 miles per year at 18 mpg = 833.3 gallons at 3.62/gallon = $3,025 per year

15,000 per year at 28 mpg = 536 gallons at 4.19/gallon = $2,245 per year

It would take 12 years for me to make up for fuel savings!

Then again, who buys a Wrangler for fuel economy? I am still torn...

I'm in a similar boat, but I'm primarily waiting to see if they offer a red interior in the Rubicon X. I saw in a thread that they were going to do so. Seems the consensus is late June for first order but does anyone know when they typically announce what the 2015 will be/look like? I was thinking maybe the New York auto show around the 29 of April. Anybody know different?

This is exactly the actual timeline every year. It also the same wishful thinking for a different engine that happens every year.

It wasn't even known until June of certain changes to the 2014.. Clear turn signal, rbz radio available as a sport upgrade, etc. I wouldn't count on learning more in April.

I thought the red interior for '15 was just wishful thinking. However, Jeep just announced the Rubicon X for Europe, and it offers the red interior.

So, I think there is now a distinct possibility that we'll see red again for '15.

I can't afford that high end of a jeep.

My plan is aftermarket catskinz, suppose to be nicer leather then stock, fit really well, totally custom, and only cost a grandish.

What is the downside?

That Euro Rubi X wasn't the same package we get in the US.

So in Canada you get $2500 cash bonus on Wrangler, Ice Hockey, and great fishing.

And we get Justin Bieber? We really got screwed on that deal!

The post I was referring to was from Pat (pat@fieldsauto.com). From what I've been able to surmise in my limited time on these forums, Pat is somewhat of a soothsayer when it comes to upcoming Wrangler intel. Either way I sure hope it's not just wishful thinking as that's the primary reason I'm holding out. You can check out post #8216 under the 2014 Wrangler Information Thread for Pat's post on Red interior for 2015.

Yup, I really want the red interior. It was Pat saying it is more than likely coming back that is making me wait. Time will tell; the other Rubicon X possibility is Hydro Blue being available. As long as it keeps the hood and bumpers, I will be a happy camper. Worse comes to worse, I order a '15 in silver with black interior that I was going to order this week as a '14 anyhow...

Who says they are even having a diesel? People have been waiting for years for a Wrangler diesel. Doubt this is the year.
