2015 Rubicon Hard Rock

Hey everyone - I'm new here so this may not be the correct place for this post...

I just placed an order at the dealership for a 2015 Rubicon Hard Rock....the order is "restricted" status.....anyone have a clue when Chrysler will resume production or a good guess when I may see this Wrangler? The dealer said approx 2 months...another source said 3-4 months. Anyone have info?

Thanks for any help!

Restriction should mean that they are at capacity for building for this allocation period, and should open up again for the next allocation. If you're not familiar with allocations, you can read about them in post 1 of the 2015 waiting room. You can also scan through there to see who has ordered Hard Rock's and how long they waited for delivery.

You might also want to post there, telling everyone about your order and hanging out with your fellow waitees.

Thanks for the quick reply! Like I said...I'm new to this site and am learning the ropes. The status on my order sheet is "BA - Pending Order"....the dealer assured me that they had ample allocation. I heard production of all 2015 Rubicons was halted - no clue why or if that's true. When I placed my order there was only one in the entire country in transit to WI - and the dealer wasn't about to let it go in a dealer trade. Guess I'll just be patient and expect it by Thanksgiving ha ha

BA should be pending, just because no one is at jeep to confirm all the parts of the order. You should quickly switch to D, if they do indeed have allocation.

The restriction I meant was that during any month, they have parts available to build X number of a particular model in stock. Once they have X number of orders, any others will be held for the next batch of parts available, which typically renews when the next allocation period opens.

I ordered my Special Edition Freedom Edition (I know, it's not as cool as a Hard Rock. ) on September 12 and it was delivered in October 29th last year. Unless there is some sort of huge back order on rubicon parts, you should see it before Thanksgiving.

Hope that helps!

Very helpful - Thank you! 3 different dealers told me that Chrysler was not accepting orders on the 2015 Rubicon. The dealer I chose today said they were able to place the order but it was on "restriction" whatever that really means. I understand your explanation about the allocations but I'm concerned the restriction may be related to something else. Maybe Chrysler just isn't ready or doesn't have the parts for production of the 2015s. They were happy to take my $500 deposit tho! ha! Again, thanks for your help.

Well, maybe I'm not explaining it right. But trust me, we saw packages go on and off restriction all the time last year in the waiting room. It was a regular occurrence, and never seemed to last more than a week or two at a time. I wouldn't worry about your order. I know they say never trust anything you read on the Internet, but I swear I'm not jerking your chain.

My POC stayed at priority 99 until I placed my deposit. Then it changed to SOLD - priority 1.

I ordered my hard rock on 7/30. Dealer said it was on restriction. It was on D1 status about 5 days later. Sitting on my dealer lot right now less than a month from my order date.

this is the first time i've had to order... placed it yesterday (saturday)....my order says BA - Pending order - the worst kind of all - ha ha. hoping and praying it goes to D1 in next two weeks but no one at the dealer seems to have a clue when restriction will be lifted and production will resume

Did they reprint your POC after you gave the deposit? It may have been printed before, when you were confirming all the options and they let you keep it. Call the dealer when they are open again and ask them to reprint and email it to you as a PDF. If you don't see the priority changed to 1 then, that's when I would start questioning.

will be calling in the AM for sure - thanks for the tip. yes, they did print my POC right before I gave my deposit. so it looks like i need an updated one. also found out that the 2015 models have an option to add the black insulating layer on the interior of the hard top to improve climate control and sound... may be worth adding.

with my luck the POC won't have changed to a 1 which means there's something going on the dealer isn't revealing...

hope your sunday is a great one!

Thank you very much! Good luck to you!

The headliner is a dealer installed option anyway. Just ask them what it would take to have it done when it gets there. Don't try to change your existing order. You'll just get even more frustrated.

good point...may wait until it gets here instead of altering the order and possibly stalling the process!

ok so you seem to be an expert on almost everything i've asked about so i'll keep bothering you! ha ha... i see you have a soft top so this isn't an issue for you but I'm getting a hard top...i really hate that they are painted white on the interior...why didn't they paint them black????? do you know of anyone who has painted the inside of their hard tops?

Well, I have a soft top, but Mike's 2013 is a hard top. So we have the best of both worlds.

We don't care for the white interior either, but haven't gotten around to changing it. I have some forum friends who have painted the interior, but no one I've met in person, so I haven't seen it in real life, only pictures.

There are several threads here on how to do it. I plan on searching for one of them when we get ready.

Another alternative is if you get a SpiderWebShade and leave it installed under the hard top, you look up at THAT color, rather than white. So, the visible white isn't completely gone, but drastically reduced.

Oh, and as for why ... Cooler than black, maybe?

Don't waste your time with the Rugged Ridge headliners on amazon. A friend got them on a SUPER deal, and even as cheap as they were the quality was so bad he sent them back without even trying them. There was a whole thread on them back in December, I think.

Picked up my 2015 Unlimited Hard Rock last week. I tried to order it via a dealer in Texas but they could not even place the order. Then, I checked my local dealer and they had one en route that was just like I would have ordered. They gave it to me for $1000 below dealer invoice. I also got the Lifetime warranty on not only the drive train but everything else. I have to say, the stereo is really good and the bass is very good too. Normally, I rip out the stereo and speakers when I get a car and upgrade them. I don't have to with this set up.

How come no one is posting the pics many people are just dying to see; the color of the seat stitching!

It's not red stitching. It's the same as before. I have no idea why it says that on the window sticker. See my thread and pics here. Jeep dealer kinda like a strip club.
