From the breaking news, it appears that the Sahara X, is a Sahara, with the 10A/X/HR hood, normal Sahara wheels that are accented in gloss black (like the 10A/X/HR wheels are the standard Rubicon wheels accented in gloss black), and the Polar Edition white interior accents.

Any word on colors, Walt?

Funny I was just gonna start a thread to see if anyone heard any news on this.

Too bad it doesn't have the bumpers too. That could have been cool.

nothing is confirmed on the bumpers.. the one shown in above photo is for European pedestrian regulations.
supposedly, the Sahara "X" for north America will have AEV bumpers...

Yea, you are right. Since this show is in France, Jeep is showing it with the standard European bumpers.

Along the same lines, there is also mention of the diesel, but I am sure that's for Europe only (just as it already is).

Just to add, the interior is "black leather seats with sporty fabric inserts".

I don't think we have seen leather and fabric before, have we?

I also don't know if this means a black interior only (no saddle, just like the 10A/X/HR).

Thanks for the info Walt!

Man, I think Jeep is running out of ideas on the special editions. I know there is only so much they can do to contain costs...but jeez. The white inserts from the Polar (and before that, the Arctic) look out of place. Almost as if they had left over parts and didn't know what to do with them.

Also, if I remember correctly, the 2013 and 2014 Freedome Edtions had a mix of leather and cloth. The 2012 Freedom Edition and 2012 Arctic Edition had vinyl and cloth.

Yep.

The color choices are pretty weak too...

The Sahara X are already showing up at US dealers.

The US package details can be found here:
2015 Wrangler Information Thread - Page 467 - Jeep Garage - Jeep Forum

The price of the package is $4,700 (sticker)

Here are a couple of pics of the ones showing up at US dealers:

Not too sure what got you to think that it would be coming from the factory with AEV bumpers.

Such is the style of bumpers export Wranglers get.

While such is required by law in Europe (to keep pedestrian bodies from getting caught up in the gap), I am not sure why Jeep doesn't simply use the same design for domestic Wranglers. I mean, there is no law here in the USA that prevents such.

Personally, I like the 10A/X/HR style of bumper with the European end cap extensions which fill in that fender/bumper gap. But, so far, they are for car shows only.

Hmm... other than the branding and the color options, how is this different from a Polar Edition?

So Glad I found this thread

I just joined the forum today. I was looking for information about the Jeep I purchased this weekend that nobody knew about. While looking for something else we found this one in a back lot, none of the sales people knew about it and I had not seen anything like it online prior to my visit. The jeep had only 4 miles so apparently it hit the lot without anyone noticing. Since this jeep had all the features I was looking for and they did not have the jeep I initially was looking for, I decided to go with this one. Originally I was looking for a Rubicon hard rock, but the closest one was 200 miles away and being a first time Rubicon jeep owner (I had a GJ Cherokee once) I figured I might want to test drive one before ordering one. When I saw this one on the lot, I originally thought it was a polar edition but the hood suggested Rubicon. Today, I goodled Sahara X and this was the only place I found any information.
I am trying to post pictures, but since I bought it, it has been overcast or raining every day. I will post more when it is sunny outside.

Nice. Congrats.

The wheels, though... I'm intrigued by the non-2015 Sahara-styled wheels.

I am new to the group but have always had a Wrangler. I have been looking for a new one. My requirements were that is was a standard and that is becoming harder to find. I went searching for a few and of course even though they were still listed online when I got to the dealers they were sold. After missing 3 different Wranglers I saw the Sahara X on the lot it is very sharp. Although, the one I saw was red and I did not care for the red body color top. They tracked me down a white one. Only problem is that I had to leave town as it came in to town. So now it is waiting a week for me to come pick it up. I guess the Sahara X was just ment to be after all of those others slipped through my fingers. This may be the longest week ever.....

As soon as I get it I will post pictures.

I was disappointed that the Sahara X does not have the nice bumpers like the Rubicon X.

My Sahara X has bumpers like yours but the Rubicon X has really nice medal bumpers. When I saw the sticker online I expected the Sahara X to have them too but that was not the case, they are still the plastic ones but it does say they are winch capable.

I saw the red one on the lot. We also saw jeeps in transit stopped in a Walmart parking lot. We stopped to check them out and they had the black one amongst the jeeps being transported. Mine is all white. Have not seen it in Baja Yellow yet but I am sure there must be one out there.
